The best welcoming and the place was exactly what caught my eye on booking.com.

Clean & neat with daily housekeeping. I left my charging block behind. When I enquired , I received an immediate response and Bart accommodated my time to collect.

Die Unterkunft liegt in einer guten Wohngegend und man kann auch dort sicher parken, prima war, dass man mit der Klimaanlage heizen konnte, denn es war sehr kalt zur Zeit unseres Aufenthalts. Die Unterkunft war durchgehend sauber, jeden Tag kam eine Dame, um auch alles wieder sauber zu machen. Das war sehr prima. Die Unterkunft ist ein prima Ausgangspunkt für das Nelson Mandela Museum als auch für die Midlands Meander, selbst nach Durban, ist es nicht weit.

Leider funktionierte die angebrachte Heizung nicht, die wäre etwas leiser gewesen als die Klimaanlage. Im ganzen Badezimmer gibt es nicht einen Haken oder eine Stange, um etwas aufzuhängen, auch in der Küche nicht. Man kann also Handtücher nicht trocknen, nur über die Badewanne legen, das ist für uns kein angemessener Platz. Die Küchenausstattung war eher reduziert, nur drei Gabeln, drei Messer, kein Schneidebrett, da habe ich mir mehr gewünscht. Insgesamt war der Raum etwas klein, es gab keinen Tisch, an dem man drinnen essen konnte, nur einen winzigen Beistelltisch mit zwei Korbstühlen. Das Bett war empfindlich, die Bewegungen des anderen sind sehr leicht spürbar.

It’s a quaint beautiful property, that’s quite private and provides for all the necessities. Also very safe.

More towels and an extra blanket would’ve been nice.

The staff are very gelpful and the grounds were very beautiful. The place truly is a showcase of the beauty of Pietermaritzburg in the morning with the view.

The rooms were super luxurious. Bed was amazing, linen was spectacular and the room in general was of a very high standard. Great quiet area in close proximity to where we needed to be.

Very quiet, clean and modern. Value for money with professional hosts. Would recommend always.

Shower head water pressure was quite low and took a while to heat up, however this is a small issue.

I arrived to find a property that bore little resemblance to the listing photos, and any attempt to raise this was met with outright dismissal rather than even a basic willingness to engage. What was particularly striking was the attitude of the hosts, which was neither accommodating nor courteous, but instead unnecessarily rigid and unhelpful throughout. There is a difference between simply offering accommodation and understanding the essence of hospitality. Unfortunately, this place seems to have missed that entirely. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

I like everything about that place, it'll always be my first option

There was no network coverage (Telkom) on our phones, and the Wi-Fi as well. The A/C needs to be serviced. The water was dripping out from the A/C onto the floor, making funny noise, and the temperature was not cold enough to cool the room even though it was on 17° ❄️

Beautiful cottages, and tranquil, the well equipped and safe. Lovely suburb and conveniently located. Aircon was a bonus and the cottages are run off the grid so loadshedding does not effect you.

Central location close to town and shopping centre. Comfortable and clean unit. Friendly hosts.

My go to place to stay when im visiting family in PMB! Great accommodation with amazing hosts

The cottage is located in an absolutely beautiful garden. It has a great Kitchenette, if you would like to make small meals instead of dinning out and is fair in size. We did not need to use the aircon, however PMB can get really hot and this is a added bonus.

For our liking the bed was a little soft. And we struggled to switch off the smart tv, so it went on in the middle of the night. But these are really small issues and does not really impact my overall rating. A braai or weber would be a great add on, because the cottage has an amazing veranda and garden, we like the outdoors.

Peaceful, well tended garden and surrounds. Glenda and Bart were engaging and welcoming hosts. Also very helpful.

Being away from the accomodation.

The smell of the space when we first arrived, it was a moldy and damp smell. That the braai was a feature of the space but it wasn't provided on arrival even after mentioning it on arrival but also after askinh about it when we first booked. The only reason why we booked. How the situation around the sheet was addressed. Even after being forthcoming about messing up the sheet. Having Bart come into the cottage under the pretence of cleaning, not actually cleaning, but rather using that time to call me aggressively as if I wasn't willing to solve the problem. Even though it was a self catering place they kept bugging us about when the cleaning lady can come in to clean. She ended up cleaning on only 1 day out of the 6. When we finally got the braai, it was placed on the verandah, but once we started braaing and the fire was already on, it started raining, we then saw Bart walking from the main house, watching us then going back in without addressing us. Later that evening on NYE we recieved a message saying that we'd be liable for any damage to the wall from where we were braaing. There were rules being mentioned that were never told to us on arrival, and that were not written down anywhere. On the last morning Bart knocked really loudly on the door and forced us out while we were packing to entertain his need to have a discussion about sheets I had already paid for. He was very rude and his manner of approach needs to be looked into. He took accountability for nothing but rather shouted, instead of slightly raising his voice, he literally shouted at us like we were kids. He was demanding for a Proof of payment for the same sheets I sent them a order number for the night prior. We didn't recieve even 1 apology, instead when his wife tried to hold him accountable he told her to shut up and man handled her in our presence.

This was our second visit and we're still not complaining. We will visit again. Our host Bart welcomed us warmly. The place is well taken care of; neat, clean, and peaceful

I stayed here this past weekend and it definitely exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spacious, you had everything you might need right at hand. It is definitely one of the best places I’ve stayed at in PMB !

Clean and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay and will be booking there again.

The garden is amazing! The rooms are comfortable especially the beds! The host, Bart was very welcoming and took excellent care of us during our stay.

Had everything we needed including a ironing board and iron. Nice view of garden, outdoor patio made for a nice relaxed evening. Cottage was clean and we enjoyed the bath.

a very peaceful area if you want to get away from everything, a beautiful environment, I really liked the flowers. it is a beautiful place.

The towels were not soft, it would be nice to have white towels, a bit rough on the skin. a broom and a mop would be nice to have in the house, I booked the place with the impression that there is a swimming Pool view, but there was no swimming pool at all I was a bit disappointed. the furniture is a bit outdated.

The swimming pool was dirty and not in a condition to swim in. The shower in the one room was leaking water at the side panel and water was flowing onto the floor around the toilet. The coffee is not nice at all and the dark green towels need replacement.

The atmosphere and the place has everything we need.
