Sekia Wagaya Hotel

A very good hotel, located a bit away from the center of Kyoto. Fortunately, there is a bus stop nearby, and the nearest subway station is just a 20-minute walk away. A supermarket and a 7-Eleven are also close by. The staff are very friendly; upon check-in, you receive detailed instructions in English regarding check-out, room usage, and house rules. The room was very clean, and everything provided matched the Booking.com listing. I had very nice sleep in tatami room!

スタッフも丁寧な対応でした。部屋は写真の通りで過ごしやすいです。家族3人で利用したが十分な広さで自炊もできる使い勝手がある。道路向かいに大きなスーパーもあり非常に便利。パーキングは近隣800メートル範囲にたくさんあります。

There was no breakfast as part of my booking - however the cooking facilities were good and the supermarket across the road convenient for buying everything needed to feel at home. The hotel also had washing/drying machines.

The head room past the cooking facilities into the bathroom was injurious for me and could be improved.

Location outside touristic hotspots, absolutely wonderful okonomiyaki restaurant nearby, supermarket across the street, bus stop right in front of the hotel. Staff was very friendly!!

it took a very long time to commute to the main touristic sights and main station in particular as large suitcases are not allowed in city buses. The beds were very uncomfortable, very hard. The futon beds were of a noticeable worse quality than experienced in Japan before. The room was smaller than it appeared in the pictures.

子供の寝相が悪いために、和室のファミリールームはとても良かったです。ベットでは落ちてしまうときがあるので。部屋の広さも、設備もとても良かったです。

チェックアウトの際に、畳の方の布団をたたもうとしたら、マットレスの下にゴミや綿棒があり、、、マットレスの下の掃除をしないでシーツだけ交換したのかなぁ？と思う感じでした。シーツだけ交換するのではなく、畳の上も掃除してもらえると、気持ちよく滞在できるのではないかなぁと思いました。

とにかくホテルの方の対応が凄く親切丁寧で助かりました。

J’ai pris la chambre avec le futon, ça me faisait mal au dos car on dort presque sur le sol dur, pas trop d’amorti avec le futon, ce qui est attendu mais j’ai mal dormi. Cela dépend de vos préférences. Pas de fenêtre, pas de fontaine à eau ce qui m’est le plus important… et machine à laver chère à 400¥. Localisation éloignée du centre, à 1h de bus mais arrêt de bus pas très loin et je suis moins éloignée de Arashiyama.

Overall impression We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Kyoto. We booked the largest room type — with a small kitchen and stunning panoramic windows — and were lucky to be placed on the 7th floor, which gave us an incredible view. For Japan, the room size was remarkably large and felt spacious and comfortable throughout our stay. The room was big and bright, with beautiful panoramic windows and a great view from the 7th floor. There are two beds that are comfortable, though a bit firm — worth keeping in mind if you prefer a softer mattress. The room comes with a small kitchen that has everything you'd need (we didn't cook, but it looked well-equipped). There's a large table where you can comfortably eat or even work, and a big TV that works great. The lighting deserves a special mention — very pleasant, with lots of options to adjust and set the mood. The bathroom, while small, is usable and does have a shower curtain, so you can shower standing up. Bathrobes are provided, which is a nice touch. On the ground floor there's a laundry room and a microwave, which are very convenient. The staff were friendly and welcoming. If you need to forward your luggage to another hotel, the price is very cheap and reasonable. The location is excellent too. There's an amazing, huge supermarket right next to the hotel. Nearby you'll also find bus stops that can take you to practically all the main tourist spots around the city, which is incredibly convenient for getting around. And there's a lovely Starbucks close by as well.

The beds are a little on the firm side. There aren't many hangers in the closet. The one real issue we had was with luggage forwarding: we needed to send a suitcase to the office of a delivery company in another city (rather than to another hotel), and after about an hour of trying, the staff weren't able to help us with this. We ended up using a different service and sending the suitcase ourselves. This may have been a somewhat non-standard request, so it likely won't affect most guests — but it's worth being aware of if your situation is similar.

Affordable price. We stayed for three nights. The hotel was right next door to a large supermarket with a wide selection of products.

The hotel was situated far from popular areas, making it feel quite isolated. I relied on Ubers for most trips due to the inconvenient location and a poorly connected public transport system, which quickly added up in cost. The beds were uncomfortably firm, and the bathroom had a strong smell of mildew/mold a clear sign of poor maintenance or ventilation. The room itself also carried a persistent musty odor throughout our stay. While the price was affordable, it simply wasn't worth it. I would rather pay more to stay somewhere closer to the city center. The room felt perpetually dirty, largely because the trash cans provided were small and there was barely any space to dispose of food and drink waste we brought back to the room.

清掃の細かい場所が手抜き、蜘蛛の巣や埃がびっしりある。 テレビはベッドのとこにもほしいとこ。

Good propety , full value for money. Big room althogh toilet as small. Supermarket opposite the street is well stocked and good for most stuff.

Concierge service would be a boon. Howvere we could manage , the staff timing also were very limited . If both are added then 5stars.

新しくてとてもキレイなホテルで、掃除もキレイにされていて快適に過ごせました。

交通量が多い道路がある場所なので、車の音が少々気になる。

This is really a good hotel with high cost performance rate. The reception is very friendly and with good manners. The front door has a password so I think it would be very safe. The room is quite spacious and clean and the tatami area is really comfortable. If I come to Kyoto I would definitely book this hotel again.

프론트 직원분이 매우 예의가 바르시다 담배피러 여러번 밖에 나갔는데 왔다갔다 할 때마다 서서 인사를 해줘서 나중엔 미안할 정도였다 화장실은 좁지만 깨끗했고 일단 방 넓어서 너무너무 만족 다다미방에서 티비보면서 밥먹고 하다가 건너방 침대에서 편하게 자니 개꿀

주요 관광지에서 떨어져 있긴 함 하지만 나는 관광지가 싫어서 이부분도 크게 나쁘짐 않았음

外国人スタッフの方は接客が良かったが、日本人男性の対応が悪かった。 とある問い合わせに対する対応がすごく面倒だというのが表情に表れており、解答も機械的で嫌な気持ちになりました。 ホテル自体がいいだけにホスピタリティーにかけるスタッフがいるのがすごく勿体無い。 スタッフ教育に期待します。

Die Zimmer waren ganz groß und es hat einen großen Supermarket gegenüber.

I loved the viewpoint of the room. It was excellent and fabulous. From my room window I can see the entire view of Kyoto. I enjoyed staying in that room. I highly recommend you to book this hotel, if you want a comfortable stay at Kyoto.

Location. It is a bit far from Centre. Direct bus facility is there. However, if you carry luggage you need to hire a taxi. However, you can able to walk to this location from nearby local metro station. Yet, this struggle will not pain you, as the hotel is exceptionally good.

The hotel is located just opposite a bus stop with the Kyoto station just 20 minutes away. Easily accessible and was very convenient (just one bus) to go to kiyomizu-deru, Kodai-ji temple and bamboo forest, Gion, pontocho alley, Nishiki market etc etc. I must give a special mention to the receptionist at the hotel, his manners were exceptional!

ロームシアターへ行く予定だったのでホテル前のバス停から1本で行けたのが便利が良かった。 ホテルの向かいにスーパーマーケットがあったのも良かった。

とても綺麗で広くてスタッフの方が皆良い人すぎました。 また目の前にはLIFEが遅くまで営業しているし2件先には大きなドライブスルーのスタバが23：00までやっていて便利でした。

2つの駅(西院・丹波口)が利用できるのは良かったのですがどちらの駅も徒歩15分〜20分掛かる感じです。丹波口から京都駅までたったの2駅です！ バス停は目の前にあり主要な観光には行けるのでバス利用お勧めです！

J'ai été acceuillie avec toutes les politesses dont les japonais sont capables. Des articles de toilettes sont offerts à volonté à l'acceuil et plusieurs autres articles (parapluies, cuiseur à riz, etc.) sont disponibles pour emprunt. L'endroit m'a semblé très sécuritaire. Aussi, il y avait un grand supermarché juste en face de l'hôtel. La salle de bains est belle et propre mais manque de crochets et de tablettes. J'ai apprécié la présence de laveuses et sécheuses (payantes) me permettant de faire du lavage sur place.

Emplacement dans un quartier sans grand intérêt. Nous avions pris une chambre japonaise mais il n'y avait pas de vrais tatamis, plutôt une imitation en plastique. Jumelé avec des matelas plutôt minces, cela ne faisait pas des nuits très confortables. La chambre était vraiment plus petite que ce à quoi je m'attendais. Le coin cuisine était minuscule et pas très fonctionnel (notamment peu et mal équipé, surtout pour le lavage de la vaisselle). Aussi, malgré le fait qu'il n'y avait aucune vue (seulement l'immeuble à côté), on entendait tous les bruits de la rue jour et nuit, même la petite mélodie qui accompagne les feux de piétons. Aussi, beaucoup de lumière entrait la nuit à travers la fenêtre de papier (pas d'autres rideaux). En général, la chambre manque d'espace pour le rangement.

Bit of a last minute booking but ended up being amazing and great value for money (especially as it was last minute). The staff were lovely, especially the man who greeted us initially. Room was great and an amazing size with everything you could need.

We loved everything to be honest! Particularly the cleanliness, the tasteful designs, the spacious room, the clean and easy washing machine and dryer, the friendly staff and the bus stop that was directly outside the hotel.

Freundliches Personal und guter Service. Man konnte im Zimmer selber Essen zubereiten. Gegenüber war ein großer Supermarkt, 7-eleven und Dominos.

Die Betten waren hart, da man nur einen Topper hatte. Zudem waren die Zimmer nicht so gut gedämmt, sodass man die Autos draußen hören konnte.

地點遠, 帶行李箱不能上公車的話由京都站要步行約一小時過去, 梅小路站要半小時 和前台溝通不順暢, 一天收拾房間後只有收走了用過的毛巾而沒有放新毛巾

Good setup for a family of 6.

Was not a fan of the shower. It was leaking and would get the whole floor wet. One receptionist was great, the female was not. She was not helpful and appeared lost.

The room is really clean, staff who is working at reception is also friendly and nice, she could speak English. Recommend
