Reviewed May 20, 2026Por lo que sale la noche, no se puede pedir mucho la verdad, pero unos mínimos de higiene estarían bien. Lo único positivo, la ubicación.
La limpieza escasea en el área de cocina, el microondas tenía mierda incrustada desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial. El personal, ni español hablaba. Las almohadas de la cama, como folios . Y el ambiente, un tanto peculiar.

Reviewed May 9, 2026I like the Turkish guy and the Argentinian manager. the rest of staff seemed to only care about their night out. very loud with staff drinking and smoking off balcony despite guests not allowed to do that. I think majority of staff need training. I get they are volunteers. but at least have some common courtesy for other guests
most of it. it was run down crawling with bed bugs and cockroaches.

Reviewed Apr 29, 2026First of all the place has a good price and the location is very nice. I also really like the personal vibe. Overall a nice place, with kitchen, wifi and welcoming staff. I would recommend the hostel, but I think you should consider if the owner of the place have an interest in costumer service - when problems arises the owner seem to cut off any communication.
I had a very bad experience. On the second day of my stay one of the guest got very drunk and made everybody feel unsafe. The police came. This guy peed on the kitchen floor. I said I did not think he should stay and maybe pee again in the bunk bed, since I slept underneath him. I woke up at 4.30 and the guy had peed in his bed, it went through the madras and dripped down on me and my sheets were wet of urin. I went to the manager at 5 in the morning and was offered to sleep in the staffroom. I was offered no compensation at all! Afterwards I took contact to the owner of the place (20th of march), she said: "I’m currently reviewing this internally to find the best possible way to handle it properly. I just need a little time to look into the details and will get back to you shortly with an update." Since that day I have tried several times to write to the owner, but have not yet as of 29th of april heard anything. --------------------------------------- They also need to get some locks on the bathrooms etc.

Reviewed Apr 23, 2026Het was de derde keer dat ik hier logeerde. De locatie is zonder meer de beste van alle hostels indien je veel de bus wil gebruiken om het eiland te verkennen. Vriendelijk en hulpvaardig onthaal. De klusjes en karweien die bij vorig verblijf nodig waren, werden intussen uitgevoerd. In de douches zijn de douchekopstangen intact, een unicum t.o.v. veel andere hostels. De inrichting is goed gedaan. Handig dat je je bagage kan laten staan na het uitchecken tot 15 uur.
De grootse slaapzaal geeft uit op de winkelstraat, waar elke ochtend het lawaai vroeg begon: vrachtwagens die komen uitladen, mensen die vroeg luid tegen elkaar praten, verbouwingswerken die lawaai met zich meebrengen. Ik zou volgende keer voor een kleinere kamer zonder uitzicht naar de straatzijde opteren, die zijn (denk ik) veel rustiger. Klein minpuntje: de hoofdkussens zouden best wat dikker mogen zijn, zoals in andere (Spaanse) hostels. Een gast snurkte erg luid, maar daar kan het hostel helaas niets aan doen.

Reviewed Apr 23, 2026Great location - so many places to eat in, shops and streets to explore right outside the door, the bus station is also a stone’s throw away. The staff were nice, and the terrace is a nice place to hang out in and get some sun. Bed was comfortable (single room)
Didn’t get a full night’s sleep any of the four nights I stayed - checked out early to stay elsewhere just to sleep. Not noisy in the way you’d normally expect hostels to be either - I took a single room but the walls are paper thin and it’s like people are standing inside your room and talking, even with earphones in. Got woken up by people conversing in the corridor at 1:30 AM and then neighbours on the floor below having a scream-conversation at the top of their voice at 5:30 AM on the same night.

Reviewed Mar 26, 2026Es ist jetzt schon das zweite Mal dass ich im Doña Rose Hostel meine Zeit verbringe und kann sagen dass es sich einfach immer wieder lohnt herzukommen einfach weil die Atmosphäre durch die Managerin Ayelén oder die Mitarbeiter Martin, Larissa, Aleida und ganz besonders Anika die für Planung der verschiedenen Aktivitäten zuständig ist, toll ist, man kann sagen das einem dadurch nie langweilig wird :)

Too many people, room I stayed 6 woman's room stuffed bad air, dark room no windows, remained me some concentration camp. Messy things everywhere, beds makes noise when you turn. Kitchen constantly slimy, very grisy, noone change dish washer sponge it's millions bacteria. Roof teraces not very well maintained. Toilets even the girls tried to clean still so many people and it can't be clean!

Estaba bastante sucio, habia polvo por todos lados además de humedades en las paredes. La estantería estaba coja y el perchero mal ubicado. El suelo es de madera y crujía y se escuchaba bastante. En el baño habia wc sin pestillos. Tardan en contestar a los mensajes y solo hablan inglés. No había ventana en la habitación y olía a cerrado.

El piso es de madera, por lo que en la madrugada suena constantemente muy fuerte, al llegar mi reserva estaba confundida con otra y me dieron otra habitación que no había reservado, no muestran las instalaciones por ende debes adivinar donde se encuentran los espacios dentro del lugar.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026I had an amazing stay at this hostel. The location is perfect and the atmosphere is incredibly friendly — I met such lovely people and felt comfortable from the moment I arrived. Rosa welcomed me when I checked in and was so kind and helpful, even giving me a little tour of the Old Town. The volunteers were all amazing and kept the hostel really clean, and Jessica at the rooftop bar was especially wonderful — she was so welcoming, always had great drink suggestions, and was such a friendly face around the hostel. It genuinely felt like I made real friends during my stay.
Honestly, there was very little to dislike about my stay. Everything was well organised, clean, and the volunteers created such a warm and friendly environment. If anything, I just wish I could have stayed longer!

Tiene un salón común súper bonito. Muy bien organizado de horarios. Para gente joven y viajera es un lugar perfecto
Las camas son bastante incómodas, yo dormí en la habitación compartida y cada movimiento la cama chirriaba. El hecho de que el recepcionista no hable español estando en España!!? Me pareció un poco el colmo

Reviewed Mar 2, 2026Location is great. Central to the old town, really near the San Telmo Park, on the walk street, friendly staff. The rest is just terrible.
The place is really run down. The beds make noises when you turn waking people up, the mattresses are really hard, no proper ventilation so the room was always smelly in the morning, the kitchen is a disgrace with old equipment and horrible pans, the showers and toilets need renovating. Basically the owner is taking the mickey by offering the lowest standard possible with no sign of upkeep whatsoever. Luckily the volunteers ( not staff ) keep the place as clean as they can. But, broken toilet seat in one of the only three toilets for the whole 19 days I was there, all shower head wall attachments loose, doors don't lock on toilets, decoration is like a teenagers bedroom, I spent many nights on the couch in the sitting room because of loud snoring, smelly feet and garlic smells. Booking should refuse to market this place until the owner spends some money on the place to bring the standard up to acceptable. It is clear the owner does not care about the customers. You feel it.

Las habitaciones con muchas gente y ropa sucia por el suelo y por todos lados. Pocos baños para tanta gente y solo 2 lavabos para más de 20 personas.
Nada. Mucha suciedad, mal olor, desorden y ruido. Lo único bueno es la ubicación .

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026The location is absolutely perfect. You are a 2 min walk from the main bus station on the island where you take buses to get anywhere. It is also a 5 min walk from a major grocery store which is quite cheap. I have to make SPECIAL for the incredible staff. Volunteers ANIKA and LOUISA are particularly incredible, helpful and friendly. I must also say that the manager AYUZ is an incredible human being and without her the place would not function. She literally does everything and is so kind with all the guests. She makes sure everyone feels at home.
Unfortunately the property loses water sometimes but not often and the water pressure for the showers drops.
