Hotel Pomelo House

The rooms were adequate for the size. Location is perfect in walking distance to Thamel and Durbar Square. Lots of good restaurants nearby. The breakfast every morning was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was prompt daily keeping the room clean and supplied with water. Rooftop has a nice view of Swayambhunath temple. I would stay here again.

The outside courtyard had many feral dogs and they go at it every morning making sleep difficult. No AC so summer months cam be uncomfortable it was ok during my month there. Power would go on and off frequently but that's typical of Nepal.

Although taxi cannot reach the front door of the hotel, it was on a busy area with lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast by order and it was nice with egg, vegetable, toast, fruit and tea. Staff were attentive.

No air-conditioner only a small ceiling fan blowing one part of the room. Requested lower floor but still put us on 3rd floor. Only 1 worn out towel for both of us. Only 1 power point in bedroom but no power and broken. Window inside staircase and corridor, everything in room was seen if you open the curtain. No hot water supply in bathroom. Room changed to 1st floor on second day but still had no hot water in bathroom and door was very, very different to lock. Wifi not working.

Цена очень приятная, но и качество соответствует - мебель уставшая, да и в целом видно, что ремонт был давно.

The location was convenient to reach. One of the staff at reception desk was friendly.

The hotel room was not clean. Washroom's shower was not functioning properly. The room was smelly and not so clean. The lock was loose and it came off when i try to unlock the second time and i was charged NPR 900 for breaking the lock, which was not the case, the lock was already not in proper shape. Though i had booked the room for 2 nights, i checked out the very next day as it was not a pleasant atmosphere inside room.

The staff members were really friendly and attentive. Check-in was very smooth, and the room was exactly as pictured. The location of the hostel is great. We got a room without a window facing the street, so we slept really good, but if you prefer a room with a window facing the street, you can let the staff know. The room came with good lighting, a fan, and some details like water, a kettle, and towels, which were really nice. They had the best breakfast for sure. We also ate dinner in the restaurant in the hostel, and it was amazing. If you need any help, they will be glad to help you book a taxi or anything you need for your trip. I was glad to talk with them and get to know more about the culture and more. Thank you so much! I recommend this place for your stay in Kathmandu.

The room is very very very small, and quite dirty. The mattress should have been replaced a looooong time ago. Don't get fooled by the photos, they are 10 years old. This was actually a decent place at the time, but they just let it fall into pieces while they kept raising the price... For 1500 rupees/night, it's probably the worst deal you can find around Thamel. Avoid absolutely.

We stayed here on 3 occasions during our 1 month trip in Nepal. It is very good value for money, we were upgraded a couple times to larger family rooms which were very nice and spacious. Breakfast was very good and the staff were all nice and helpful. The location is fantastic in Thamel with great access to restaurants and shopping. (Plus the masala tea was very nice!)

In comparison to staying in rooms on floors 1, 3 and 4, you can tell a difference in the level of noise from the street- it was quieter the higher we were. Not a deal breaker for us though as it was a great location and expected in the city.

Clean room, nice staff, water supply in bathroom, breakfast and location were also good. Although the room we booked had no window, the air circulation was fine. It was lucky to stay here.

I was there with my family, I feel at the beginning bit weird but at the end it was really nice stay. Breakfast was really great and staff are very nice!

Hotel is bit old, need to be repaired, sometimes hot water doesn't work otherwise it's really great and cheap!

Wonderful manager who helped us with local information and was very attentive. We extended our stay as the room was spacious , good breakfast, and location good for sightseeing and main tourist areas.

Seems like scam at Frist they give me the different rate of the pick up service after I confirmed they increase the cost of the year pick up.

Staff were great! Room was clean and comfortable. Stayed here a few times. Not a real busy area but wasn't far to walk to find lots of shops. Breakfast was good.

Location was perfect for me, motorcycle rental next door and a short walk away from Durbar Square

The property is in need of a refurbishment, the rooms are a little scruffy but reasonable value for money in Kathmandu Room at the front was very noisy at night

Price was decent.

I complained twice for Hot Water not being available, but no action was taken. Was told to keep left side tap ON for 2 to 3 minutes and HOT WATER would come, but even after 5 minutes , NO HOT WATER. Credit Card payment was charged 3.5% extra - absolutely ridiculous.

The glasses in the room was too dirty ,the cover of pillow was too old even it have hole,the shower was not hot and I couldn't take a shower ,my room in the first night was very dark ,no sun ,nobwindoes to the sun or beautiful place ,but in the second night ,they changed my room and it was good

Worst hotel I've been in my life: my room was really dirty, full of dust and full of cockroaches, not only in the bathroom but everywhere in the room. When I saw the cockroaches were getting inside my bags, I decided to leave as I couldn't stay in such a filthy place. Then only, the guy at the reception offered me another room (even if I had complained about the cockroaches before). The second room was better but still...it's a filthy place. I have travelled all around the world on a small budget and never saw anything like that. There are plenty of other hotels in the same price range in the area so it's not worth the money. The staff wasn't even nice. The old guy was trying hard to sell me his tours and was very pushy and annoying.

Very good service, all stuffs are very friendly, very polite and very helpful. A perfect place to chill and travelling around the city is easy from the location as well.
