Reviewed Sep 15, 2026This place was perfect for a couple looking to have a very quiet time away, surrounded by peace and water and nature. The view from the cabin is incredible -- you are looking directly out onto the islands and waters of the archipelago. The cabin is pretty basic but has all you need for a somewhat rustic stay -- nice bathroom, small kitchen with stove and basic cookware, and living/sleeping room. Gert is a charming host who even took us for a ride in his boat to the nearest island to buy groceries. The island itself has a lovely, simple nature trail that winds through multiple habitats and along a natural harbor.
We found this beautiful and it fit what we were looking for, however a prospective renter should know that the island has no commerce of any kind. There are a handful of other houses, all of them weekend/vacation homes, and that's it. No restaurant, no shops, no groceries. Nearest island with groceries is half hour away by boat. The commercial ferry also does not stop at the island -- the closest stop is 10 minutes away by boat. Gert picks you up in his little private boat.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2026The cottage is nice and comfortable. The owner is very flexible to arrange the stay according to ferry timetable. The location is absolutely superb and uttermost peacefull. The island has some nice walks giving you the opportunity to observe the wildlife and discover the rich vegetation.
The facilities like the pier and the equipment like the kayak and SUP are somewhat worn down, but everything is somehow working just fine

Vi fick inte stugan vi bokade p g a en dubbelbokning som booking gjorde. Dock såg personalen till att vi fick en väldigt härlig glampingupplevelse istället.

Reviewed Jul 5, 2026Gert och Camilla är så trevliga. Stugan ligger vackert på ett berg med härlig utsikt över havet från altanen. Så vacker och vilsam miljö för fullständig avkoppling. Välutrustat kök med precis vad vi behövde för fyra personer. Tillgång till uteplats, bastu, brygga, kajak och vandringsled precis bakom knuten. Gert och Camilla som värdar är supertrevliga och hjälpsamma på alla sätt. Väldigt charmigt och trevligt att bli hämtad/lämnad med deras båt.

Reviewed Jun 6, 2026Wir wurden von einer Insel in der Nähe abgeholt. Och hatte vorher angefragt, ob es bestimmte Küchengeräte gibt und diese wurden dann extra in die Wohnung gebracht. Super schöne Terasse mit Sonne den ganzen Tag. Kanus, die kostenlos ausgeliehen werden durften. Super schöne ruhige Umgebung.
Es gibt keine Läden auf der Insel, aber darauf waren wir vorbereitet und hatten alles dabei. Der Vermieter bot uns sogar an, noch etwas einzukaufen, falls wir zu wenig dabei gehabt hätten. Wasser zum frisch trinken muss man auch dabei haben!

Reviewed Aug 27, 2025Außergewöhnliche Lage, abgeschieden ohne Lärm und Lichtverschmutzung, phantastischer Blick auf das Inselleben in den Schären, Sauna, Kajak, erfolgreiche Pilzsuche in der wunderschönen umgebenden Landschaft, begleitet von einem beeindruckenden, freundlichen interessanten Gastgeber, wurden in Ingmarsö mit dem Boot abgeholt, zuvor Wasser, Lebensmittel eingekauft, und zur nächsten Insel wieder gebracht. Ein nachhaltig wirkender Aufenthalt auf unserem Archipelago Trail

The cabin is spacious, fully equipped, and very comfortable, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The location is calm and surrounded by beautiful nature. We loved spending our days kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and unwinding in the sauna. A special thanks to our host, who was incredibly kind, helpful, and attentive — he went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. All our requests were taken care of and more. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful escape with great activities and outstanding hospitality. Thank you, Gert, for making our stay so memorable!
Tap water, which has a bit of a strange taste. As recommended by the host, it’s a good idea to bring your own drinking water

Reviewed Jul 29, 2025The hosts were welcoming and easy going, accommodating and helpful. The location is spectacular and the hosts provide access to whatever you may want recreation wise. Quite a delightful experience!
Some aspects of the accommodations were a bit funky, like lighting and air flow, but overall it was more than acceptable and clean and presented with whole heartedness and care.

Reviewed Jul 18, 2025Had a fantastic stay. Took a walk around the nature reserve, had a sauna, swam in the sea and made use of the kayak and paddle board. Gert is a friendly host with a great sense of humour and we felt very welcome. The Kitchen had everything we needed for a couple of days.
Nothing. Only thing was that there didn't appear to be smoke alarms in the cabin - would have been happier if there was some.

From the moment we got picked up and showed around the property with multiple spots to relax to our departure - we felt extremely well taken care of in a clean and wonderful environment!

Reviewed Sep 16, 2024Remote but not isolated, this Cabin is a perfect getaway. We stayed with a 9 month old baby for a weekend and we enjoyed the beauty of the surroundings and the absolute relax and peace of this tiny island. Gert lives on the island and he is there for any need, but you can enjoy plenty of privacy and silence. One gets there with the ferry waxholmsbolaget, so no need of special tickets or advanced booking. The family cabin is spacious and comfortable, but you get to use other lovely settings too, such as the sauna, the Korean-style lounge and the barbecue overlooking the sea. We loved this and would love to come back again.

Reviewed Aug 1, 2024Amazing place far off from the hustle and bustle of the city, right in the heart of the Stockholm archipelago. The cabin is beautifully furnished with inspirations from East Asian interior design clearly visible. The island has nice walking trails which are amazing to experience the Swedish nature. The sauna and the option to kayak are a great plus.
There are no shops or restaurants on the island, so you have to shop ALL your grocery in advance.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2024Collected by boat by the helpful owner from a ferry stop on nearby island, and dropped to a different island at the end of our stay to continue our journey. Very peaceful location- most of the island is a nature reserve with well marked paths, bays to swim in - and we borrowed a kayak and a SUP to explore the coastline and other nearby islands. Stunning sunset views, large well equipped 2 bedroom guest house with terrace (incl wi-fi), plus other somewhat quirky facilities spread over site including two glamping tents, a film room, sauna - and a helicopter pad/dining terrace!
Nothing we didn't like - just need to make sure you take everything you need as there is nothing available on the island. Probably not an ideal spot for toddlers or anyone with mobility difficulties - as plenty of 'drop -offs', steep steps, and raisable ladders to the sleeping platforms in each room. A work in progress - small ongoing project with new facilities being built near the owners house, but out of site.
