The staff made the stay amazing. The room was very clean and good size with ac and fan. Bathroom was open air which was nice. Large communal space with kitchen and tables and a small pool.

The close beach was too rough to swim at during our stay in late June-at other times of the year it may be better.

We stayed in this tranquil hidden paradise for four nights with a group of nine, and it was the perfect place for us. Calm, quiet and luxurious, it felt like a true escape. The staff were friendly, genuine and incredibly helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. If you are travelling as a group, I could not recommend this place more highly. We had the property to ourselves and the beach, just a one-minute walk away, almost entirely to ourselves as well. It was incredible. Breakfast, served by the adjoining Sunshine Cafe, was plentiful, healthy and delicious, with something different every day. We also did a cooking class with the owner of the Sunshine Cafe, and I would absolutely recommend it. It is a must-do.

Loved it here! Comfortable rooms, a nice little pool, delicious breakfast and super nice employees. Also a beautiful undeveloped beach just a 2 min walk and best of all the miniramp and skatepark! Super smooth concrete, nice selection of obstacles and super fun to skate. Hope I get the chance to come back some day, thank you to Baxter and the team!

Sehr schlechtes Internet. Zimmer sind ziemlich klein. Anlage ist viel kleiner als auf den Bildern. Hotelpersonal versteht kein Englisch.

Das Hotel war wunderschön und hat auch genauso ausgesehen wie auf den Fotos. Das Zimmer ist perfekt ausgestattet und auch so unglaublich gut durchdacht - sogar genug Haken für Handtücher waren vorhanden (das hab ich noch nie erlebt bei einer Reise mit meiner Familie!). Vor dem Zimmer gab es auch eine kleine Terrasse mit einem Wäscheständer für die Badesachen sowie einer kleinen Hollywoodschaukel, welche sehr bequem war! Daneben war noch ein weiteres Familienzimmer und vor diesen beiden Zimmern war ein sehr netter Garten mit Buddhastatue sowie Hängematte. Die Mitarbeiterinnen waren quasi immer verfügbar und kümmerten sich sofort um Anliegen. Sie waren auch immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommenden. Die Outdoor- Küche, welche man mitbenutzen konnte, war auch perfekt. Die Mitarbeiterinnen haben dann alles abgewaschen - also auch hier musste man sich nicht selbst darum kümmern. Man konnte immer Essen bestellen via WhatsApp vom Café nebenan - fast den ganzen Tag --> das ist mit Kindern wirklich Luxus pur! Der kleine Pool war auch super, hat allemal gereicht für uns als Familie! Im Garten gab es sogar eine Rutsche, Schaukel und Sandkiste! Für die SkaterInnen gab es eben auch diesen coolen Skatepark - wo auch Boards und Helme zur Verfügung gestellt werden!

Das Essen vom Café war gut, aber auch nicht mehr. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück war recht beschränkt und es kam quasi jeden Tag ein Überraschungsfrühstück (mal süßer, mal pikanter). Aber auch hier, waren auf Nachfrage Anpassungen möglich und wurden nicht extra verrechnet. Also alles in allem gibts kaum was, was uns nicht gefallen hat :-)

Nos gustó mucho nuestra estancia en familia. El lugar es muy bonito, muy cómodo para estar con niños también. La habitación es muy espaciosa y las camas son cómodas. La playa que hay cerca es súper bonita también (cuando estuvimos nosotros había mucho oleaje y no era fácil bañarse, aun así es precioso el lugar).

una experiencia increible supero todo, la atención de Sanduni como host merece capitulo aparte, resuelve todo, atenta y siempre impecable y con una sonrisa la casa tiene una energia incredibile. volveria mil veces el equipo de mujeres en general son increíbles, los dueños viven ahi y son muy reservados pero con la presencia justa y siempre atentos.

Architecture and location were quite unique. The beach was beautiful and so empty. Hotel was nice and comfortable. Dinner from the nearby Sunshine cafe was good and great we could eat at the hotel terrace. Service was really nice overall, even helped with cleaning our dishes and mess we made while eating with a baby and a child. Around the hotel there are “normal” houses with local families living which have us the feeling to really see local, rural life. It also feels like being in the jungle with monkeys jumping around the trees.

Prices are quite high and when we asked for pancakes for our daughter during our first breakfast, we had to pay extra for them which feels like a bit of a joke given the price we paid per night. I would have expected a pancake for a young child who did not feel comfortable with some of the local breakfast food offerings, to be a service which is included for the price.

So we stayed 2 nights and very regret that didn’t take more!! The atmosphere, the staff and the owner are amazing! Such a vibe place. We are very thankful!

Wirklich schöne und besondere Unterkunft. Überall Pflanzen und Blumen, tolles Außenbadezimmer. Nettes Personal. Alles sehr sauber. Tolle Gemeinschaftsküche. Waschmaschine zum selbst bedienen und heißes Wasser war ein Highlight.

Frühstück ist ausbaufähig. Besser wäre noch wenn es etwas flexibler wäre. Man hat jeden Tag irgendwas bekommen und war sehr unflexibel, wenn man mal was tauschen wollte. Kaffee und Tee macht man sich selber. Also wäre cool, mehr Service zu haben.

We loved the location away from the crowds and nestled in a lovely village. The kids spent hours in the pool, however it is quite small. Maybe a rethink of the numerous skate bowls to make room for a bigger pool. The staff were lovely and attentive. The cooking class was excellent run by the neighbouring family and manger. Beautiful style and garden design.

Despite the impressive facade, we feel it was quite overpriced for what you get. There is a washing machine and common kitchen area, no milk, limited coffee provided and laundry is an added expense. The room was serviced every day but no filtered water in the downstairs rooms. No tea, coffee or juice provided with breakfast.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und stilvoll eingerichtet. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, haben einen praktischen kleinen Balkon mit Hängematte und schönes Außenbad mit vielen Pflanzen. Auch das Bett ist sehr bequem. Das Restaurant daneben ist sehr lecker und der Strand wunderschön!

Es kann sehr laut werden. Neben uns waren mehrere Familien mit insgesamt 7 kleinen Kindern da. Da es einen Spielplatz und viele Spielsachen im Hotel gibt, denke ich, dass das öfters der Fall ist. Auch die Gemeinschaftsküche trägt zum Lärm bei, der in den Zimmern darüber leider sehr gut zu hören ist.

Jedes einzelne Details war durchdacht und wunderschön. Das Zimmer war toll, super sauber und durchdacht. Das Outdoor-Bad war atemberaubend. Die verschiedenen Gemeinschaftsbereiche sind wunderschön. Sanduni, die Managerin, kümmert sich um alles was man wünscht. Auch die anderen Mitarbeiterinnen war immer extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit. Man hat sich fast als Familienmitglied gefühlt. Direkt nebenan gibt es das Sunshine Café mit tollem Essen. Man kann rüber gehen oder es sich bringen lassen. Im Garten und vom Balkon kann viele tolle Vögel beobachten. Und die Streifenhörnchen leben auch auf dem Grundstück. Wir hatten das Glück einige Tage die einzigen Gäste zu sein, dadurch war es extrem ruhig. Der Strand in der Nähe ist auch wunderschön und ruhig. Wer Trubel will, ist hier falsch. Ansonsten kann ich es jedem empfehlen. Auch die Massage kann ich sehr empfehlen.

Prachtige accommodatie, op loopafstand van een verlaten strand. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het zwembad is klein, maar erg fijn. Je kon extra services boeken indien gewenst; yoga, massage, surfbord. De yoga les wordt uitgevoerd door de eigenaresse van het verblijf en is zeer aan te raden! Evenals de massage.

It was hard to call a tuktuk (but maybe it was because of i called it when school finished)

Es ist eine wunderschöne und gepflegte Anlage mit viel Liebe zum Detail, Hängematten laden zum Verweilen ein. Die Zimmer sind wunderschön eingerichtet, das offene Bad ist der Wahnsinn! Es wird viel Wert auf Sauberkeit gelegt. Das gesamte Team ist sehr nett. Es gibt einen Trinkwasser Spender, Tee und Kaffee den ganzen Tag. Auch das Frühstück ist wirklich lecker und abwechslungsreich. Wir haben uns bewusst dafür entschieden etwas abseits des Trubels zu verbringen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Der nahegelegene Strand ist auch sehr schön und fast menschenleer. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen. Vielen Dank 🤗

El entorno del alojamiento es cautivador. Muy tranquilo y hay una playa alucinante justo debajo. Sandune es encantadora y nos dió buenos consejos y recomendaciones. Las camas son muy cómodas.

Por hacer un apunte En nuestra habitación teníamos una ventana justo encima de la cama y entraba bastante luz desde muy temprano. Si te molesta la luz por la mañana y quieres seguir durmiendo recomiendo antifaz.

Todo estaba cuidado al detalle, es precioso, con un encanto espectacular! La zona súper tranquila, ruido del mar por su proximidad.

We had the most wonderful stay at Gaia Soul. Sanduni and everyone else took care of us so well. We especially loved the breakfasts and the cooking class we did during our stay! There is a stunning beach just a few steps away from the property, and it is super easy to get to/from hiriketiya!

Gaia Soul is a beautiful property, with a lot of attention to detail. The rooms are spacious, very comfortable, and the location is truly special – quiet, isolated, with a stunning beach right in front.

On the downside, for the price we paid the service was practically non-existent. Breakfast was tasty but the portions were quite small compared to other places we stayed during our trip. The concept of self-service rooms, with coffee facilities, a washing machine, and a shared kitchen, is nice – but overall we felt that the price was really too high for what was offered.

The property was beautiful, so relaxing, wonderful communal area, aesthetically pleasing and so well looked after by the ladies that work there!

Absolutamente todo. Nos recibieron con un zumo lo cual se agradece por el calor. La habitación y absolutamente todas las estancias estaban super limpias. La habitación con balcón y vistas al mar. Me encantó poder poner la tumbona en el balcón y disfrutar bajo la luna. El desayuno muy rico con zumo natural y disponer de una cocina para poder preparar algo o meter cosas en la nevera me parece una genial idea.

La única cosa que podría como negativo es que no pudimos hacer uso de la piscina porque el agua estaba verde y con alga. Pero teníamos la playa muy cerca.

De ligging viel ons tegen, dat had te maken dat er in de directe omgeving niets te doen was. En dan bedoel ik in de zin van restaurants/barretjes of surfschooltjes. Het strand was wel prachtig.

I loved this place! Very much felt at home, and all right on one of the best unspoilt beaches in Sri Lanka! Only a handful of people on the whole beach! Be sure to visit sunshine cafe and beach haven restaurant both serving great fresh home cooked food. I enjoyed a curry on the beach at 8pm at night turtle spotting.

Very nicely designed and quiet place far from tourist crowds and night life. We stayed in a brand new villa. A deserted beach is less than 5 minutes away, waves are normally big, not so easy to swim but still refreshing. The Sunshine Café, driven by the nice family that also mainly handles the hotel, offers nice breakfasts and dinners. And don’t miss the small restaurant Beach Heaven, 5 min to the right when you come down to the beach. They serve excellent fresh fish (and if you’re lucky even lobsters), if you ask. There is also a kitchen in the hotel, if you want to cook yourself. Cooking lessons and yoga classes can be arranged, although we did not take that opportunity.

This is maybe not for pool enthusiasts, as the pool is quite small - which did not bother us at all, though. Some wild dogs are roaming on the beach. At first, we were a bit worried, but realised that they are mostly bark, and if you ignore them, they go away.

We loved how private the property was and the downstairs area where we could chill out, read, talk and drink tea. The open access kitchen was beautiful and I felt like we were at home. The family who built Gaia soul were so sweet, Baxter and his wife and beautiful daughter - such a gentle, warm and loving family. The family who run Gaia soul had recently experienced the loss of their dear uncle. Despite their grief, they still showed up for us and provided us with all our needs. Exceptional service under such sorrowful times. The beach down the road is magical. One of the most magical beaches in all of Sri Lanka! I’ve lived here for 6 years and have never seen a beach like it - totally deserted! What a peaceful gift! We will return to Gaia soul! It is a gem of a find and I highly recommend it to travellers who wish to escape the tourist trap and have some peace. ☮️

We liked everything about this place. The design is made with good UX. Kitchen and shared space were awesome, also the nearby cafe is very comfy and everything was delicious.

The place is very nice and stylish and we felt nice even during rainy days. The staff was outstanding, explained everything we asked about and introduced us to Sri Lankan life; the team breatchs soul into this amazing space.

Nothing comes to my mind. Maybe sometimes it felt a bit crowded when all the guests had breakfast at the same time.

Gaia Soul is a 5 star place to relax and unwind. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, and the whole place is super clean, stylish and beautiful. The beach nearby is amazing and not crowded. Although Gaia Soul is a bit further from Hiriketiya, you can rent a scooter and move around easily.

Sanduni and her family were the kindest people we have ever met. They really raised the bar for good service and went beyond expectations in every way. The place itself is very nice and private. We spend Christmas here and had the time of our lives. The place we would rate a solid 10. Sanduni raised it to 11. Thank you so much for being as you are.

We had a lovely time at Gaia Soul. We sadly booked it only for 1 night and regretted not staying longer. It was super cozy and we happened to book on a day we were the only guests, so it was like home away from home. Gaia soul is kid friendly! Sanduni the care taker and her family were super obliging, very kind and helpful. If you want any food, they can prepare whatever you pick from the menu. The hotel is spotlessly clean, quiet with an absolutely stunning beach just a couple of feet away. Gaia Soul also has a pool that is great for a dip and relaxation. The kitchenette is available for self catering if you wish. Overall, we had a memorable stay and look forward to returning soon.

Theres limited parking. The road leading to the property was a bit washed out with the rain so smaller vehicles might find it hard to reach the property. We got a single mattress for our toddler to sleep on the floor when requested for a cot. It worked fine for us. But it wasnt exactly a cot. The food could be considered a little pricey when comparing the quantity and you need to add service charge to rates mentioned in the menu.

We booked for 1 night and we ended by staying two. This is a quiet place in a peaceful and jungle environment located 10 minutes ride to Hiriketiya. We particularly appreciate the chilling atmosphere, cleanliness and courtesy of the staff and above all sleeping and waking uo with the sounds of the waves and the nature

- Loved the breakfast and dinner that was cooked by the neighbor - Sanduni is a lovely host! And also her family is suuuper friendly and always eager to help - Location is super nice next to the beach and you can easily take the bus to other places - Super clean place - You can use the kitchen to cook or make yourself coffee

- If you walk to the property, be aware that there are street dogs that are quite aggressive. You should carry a wooden stick to throw if it gets too bad. Otherwise you could take a tuk tuk.

I travel to Dikwella for work. Gaia Soul is the perfect location; no noise, tranquil location, breakfast and dinner on demand. The staff is invisible but always there; Sanduni, the young lady who manages the property, is exceptional. Gaia Soul is perfect for long stays; it's home away from home.

Perhaps a greater menu variety for guests who spend several days at the house but this is a small issue compared with the tranquillity Gaia Soul offers (as the name says well). I am sure that Sanduni's Mother, who cooks each dinner, would do that if asked; I will try next time!

Staff were super friendly and highlight of the stay. Would thoroughly recommend the cooking class also!

Cleanliness could be improved every so slightly. The outdoor bathroom featured some spiderwebs which although acted as a mosquito repellant could have perhaps been tidied up before arrival. Getting into the property was also only arranged via WhatsApp which as meant waiting outside until being let in after a day trip. I was a solo traveller coming home one evening after a long day trip and had to wait a to be let in.

The property was really nice and the staff very attentive. It is just a two minute walk from a beautiful beach.

Breakfast was very basic. Water pressure in the shower was super poor. The TukTuks are quite expensive in this area.

Location, place, and people were all excellent. Food was very good. Having really yummy home cooked meals on a holiday is special. Baxter, Sanduni and their families were all very friendly, patient, and helpful.

Architectural “cool” and full of little ideas like a foldable balcony desk or a hammock and not to forget the jacuzzi sized pool and skateboard half pipe!

the only real tiny setback might be the location. a big plus for being quiet and remote but also a little bit harder to reach, you are definitely tuk tuk or your own means of transportation dependent there.

Beautiful location, 2 minutes walk from the beach. Lovely and remote, just a 30 minute drive to Marissa. Staff were very accommodating and helpful! Would recommend to others to stay.

The property itself is beautifully done. New and well designed modern architecture.

It’s not the easiest to find as soon as it gets dark and it’s not close to much in terms of activities.

Wow, what a nice hidden gem in parardise. Fabulous place to stay, we had the whole villa four our family. The house is gorgeous, amazing downstairs open living are, the pool and the skate ramp were fantastic. Location is also superb, the ideal place to absolutely wind down and relax, and at the same time only 10 minutes from Dickwella and Hiriketiya. Amazing beach just 2 minutes walking from Gaia Soul, and Hiriketiya is an amazing surf spot. Sundina, the neighbour, prepares amazing breakfast, and there are plenty of nice restaurants around within 10 minutes. If you want to try amazing Sri Lankan Curry, go to Juices & Curries in Talalla, other very nice restaurants are Smoke & Bitters and The Verse Colllective in Dickwella. Also the host, Baxter and his wife are such lovely people and we felt really welcome and like home!

The host and the staff are great, very helpful and friendly! Location is quiet and only 10 min ride to Hiri beach. Beds super comfortable, all house very well designed. We loved the pool and terrace.

We had an amazing time at Gaia Soul! Baxter and his team were so friendly and accommodating. We loved the space and spacious kitchenette that made cooking a fun group activity. The meals provided by Saduni were also great! There is a nearly-secluded beach stretch just walking distance from the property. It's family friendly place, and our 1+ year old had the time of her life! Can't wait to go back

We had a fender bender trying to park inside the property. But parking was soon arranged in the neighboring property, which was much easier. We also has a small issue with water drainage in the showers. Hope this will be sorted soon.
