Location clean comfy rooms friendly
Nothing
Great location with good sized room, and excellent food .
Although warned about disco in hotel on Friday and Saturday nights , the volume was still very high , ear plugs provided didn’t really help, also customers sitting outside on tables were very loud . Would definitely use the hotel again but would avoid the weekend!
Very good cooked breakfast
Coffee could have been better!
Great location and incredible value. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. It was great that breakfast was included too - we mentioned we were vegetarian and they even made some veggie sausages for us to have with breakfast which was a nice touch.
We stayed on Saturday and Sunday when there was music going on in the pub, but to be honest that wasn’t much of an issue as they were very transparent about that when booking, provided earplugs, and they had a drinks deal on the Saturday so we just joined for a bit!
Very good breakfast, town centre location, friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent breakfast, good choice of food.
Large room with a chaise longue!
Avoid Room 5! On arrival water was running down the doorframe to the bathroom! Quickly rectified by lovely staff but that’s not the point! Kept awake until 1am by the disco - no soundproofing, green light on ceiling stayed on all night, uncomfortable bed where you could feel the springs! Struggling to get out of slippery bath. Put the tiny bath mat down which slipped!
Central location. Great breakfast, particularly the bacon!
Breakfast was cooked and presented well, with good quality ingredients. . Exceptional
Staff were lovely. Breakfast was basic, but fine. Very dog friendly
The bedroom was good as was the food. However, it’s time for some painting and decorating!
The dinner was delicious. The steak salad was really quite a unusual option and much enjoyed. Bangers and mash by all accounts good.
The room was clean but the hotel was sticky sticky and more sticky... So much we shared jokes about the stickiness with other guests., about the tables and all the floors. The upholstery on the seats also needed cleaning. Breakfast was OK but not anywhere near the standard of other hotels in the area. Nescafe is quaint but very old fashioned in a competitive market! I wouldn't recomend the hotel particularly. Overall the hotel was more expensive for BnB than the other 7 pubs we stayed in the area. The room was very light and the overhead lights had a bizarre greenish glow.
Great breakfast, great staff. Perfect location
Although we were warned the noise from the disco was very loud.
Nice rooms/ Staff and well located.
Bed not at all comfortable, and very noisy late into the night.
Staff and sevice very good.room was very clean.
Didnt realize how loud the music from the bar would be and went on to 1pm. Bed was very uncomfortable and could not sleep in it.. No plug in hand basin dificult to wash and shave in..
We liked the hotel a lot, quite rustic and unusual. The secure entrance to the rooms to stay in was nice and it was cosy and bright along the corridors. Our room was very acceptable for a budget one. It was warm and cosy and had a night light in the bathroom which was a first for us. Never had one anywhere else. Plenty of hot water. Nice and clean. There was a lightweight throw as an extra for the bed which we used on its own as it was all that was needed for the current temperatures and was a great relief. Had enough wardrobe space and drawers for our clothes. The breakfast was excellent. The lady chef is an amazing cook, everything perfect, and kept warm. Thanks chef!
We ate in for two evenings at the hotel. We thought the prices for the food was good but some of it wasn't as good as we would have liked. My husband said the gammon was the worst he had ever had. He struggled to cut it! It may be because it was overcooked. The rest of the meal was OK, chips very nice. I had scampi with some dip and a salad but the salad leaves seemed lifeless and disappointing. The next evening my husband had lasagne with salad which was good. I had halloumi fries and dip with a side salad and was relieved the salad was better thank goodness but my halloumi was well over cooked beyond recognition. There was no cheese taste left, no cheese texture left. Although we managed to park at a local car park without any overnight issues, it would be good to be able to park at the hotel. Luckily it wasn't too far to walk with the luggage. We realise it's impossible to have one at the hotel but we hadn't realised until after we had booked. It might have changed our decision to stay there.
Close to everything.
None
Friendly, helpful staff. Great value for money.
Some repairs and improvements would be good but, for the money we paid, I have no complaints.
Friendly staff. Lovely character of an old building. Comfortable beds. Kettle provided. Rooms clean. Good lighting. Car park walking distance. Free from 6pm to 8am.
Poor wifi coverage, did not work in rooms. No proper coffee at breakfast, only instant. No fruit offered.
The rooms were super clean and comfortable.
Friendly and helpful staff
Staff friendly they gave us wrong room When i shown them it wasnt what i booked they sorted it out Very quickly To room i had booked Room clean Breakfast was a buffet style And was one best we have had All cooked food good produce And well cooked and hot Crown is in great location We will book again we realy enjoyed are stay
Liked everthing
Location
The shower over bath. There was a wooden step to get in as it was high but no hand hold. This really needs to be there for getting in and out. Definitely a slip hazard. The very small fan was really no help in this weather. May I suggest a goodhome one from b and q. Silent and powerful without being too big. Our room did smell a little damp though I put this down to no heating being on as not needed. Oh when we were told the door locked automatically as it shuts we thought great. Then first night around 10/11pm someone opened it and nearly walked in. Shock. Husband got up and turned the lock on the door knob. Problem solved. Travel lodge sprang to mind.
Lovely clean, spacious room which was quiet on a Thursday night. Large bathroom with fairly good water pressure. Attentive and friendly staff member at breakfast. Fan provided for heatwave conditions It was the only available room for under 100 pounds in the area as a last second booking so we are happy we secured somewhere.
Breakfast was nice but limited - obviously due to numbers and not wanting to produce waste, however, I wish there had been some fruit and plain yoghurt, perhaps a couple of pastires. Coffee was simply sachets of instant coffee, and I would have loved to have had a cappuccino or latte Parking was pay and display nearby however we had to walk through an alleyway laced with broken bottles / glass to get to the hotel.
Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast , and lovely , very large room.
Used the Crown before. Bedroom clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast included was great. Sausages especially for the cooked breakfast
Nothing really. Staff polite and welcoming.
Staff were very friendly and professional. Went out of their way to make our stay as perfect as could be for example we asked for a mini fridge and one was supplied. We needed a great hotel for relaxation and to recharge our batteries , we were able to do that and more.
This was personal preference but I didn't like the cheap cornflakes or the sausage
Comfortable bed although high smell of bleach (bedsheets), room is big enough for a night staying, clean.
The Rest.
Location. Staff were great. Rooms were spotless. Food portions were huge
Mattress was not good. Needed a topper as could feel the springs. Curtains also could do with being lined
Fantastic stay made to feel welcome by staff lovely big room
Nothing bad at all
It needs a bigger fan
Great central location, whilst room was tired, size of bedroom and shower room were excellent.
Steep stairs to upper floor for rooms, which can’t be altered.
breakfast included
with all the hot weather we are lucky to have lately they could not even bother putting stand up fans in the rooms for our comfort. so did not have a good night sleep because of the heat. Drink prices high.
I love the atmosphere in the crown. A great mixture of wonderful people. Red the barmaid and ben the manager made my stay perfect. Highly recommend you try this place 👌 9.5 out of 10
A clean, comfortable rooms with a lot of space. Parking was easy, but would have been charged if we’d stayed any longer than we did. And the staff were really friendly
We were only warned about the live music a week before going (not at booking, which was non-refundable) although they did provide ear plugs. The biggest challenges was the security light in the room, which was so bright you didn’t need to turn the actual lights on, and meant we didn’t get much sleep
Great location for what we wanted, we were visiting the Archangel gin distillery. Staff were really helpful and friendly
No parking, I filtered parking but clearly didn't read it properly. Large room but Tired. Quite expensive for what we got. Had to be out at 10am
Location ideal for our stay. Comfortable clean rooms. All staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Nice room. Friendly staff. Good pub food.
Breakfast was a bit basic but tasty and well cooked. Just not much choice (no fruit)
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and comfy. Location was great. Breakfast was very complete
Friendly and welcoming staff. Evening meal and breakfast were exceptional
Fire alarm going off early hours, but that isn't the venues fault, some idiot raping in the toilets. Security were brilliant and let us know almost immediately that we didn't have to vacate
The location, the friendly staff and the room was spotless and very comfortable.
Unfortunately I was there on a Saturday night, and was made aware that it would be quite load downstairs and outside. The noise was the only issue, however I was provided with earplugs and it was quieter after midnight.
Nice 15th century inn. Staff nice and friendly which made the difference.
Central location, good value for money and friendly staff ,and a good breakfast, plus the happy hour drinks on Saturday evening, great idea
We booked for 7 nights to use as a base to visit the areas along the coast .. staff were lovely and very helpful .. the room was clean and quite comfy .. great breakfast and the two meals we had were good. We had two bikes that the owner was happy to accommodate for us overnight in a locked area.
It's not an easy place to relax in really but then it is a town centre hotel .. if you stay at weekends be prepared for live bands, discos, karaoke etc., we had an outdoor disco right under our window on Saturday night which was so loud it made the windows shake!
Room and place was nice and clea and comfortable
Was very noisey over night
Excellent 👍
Decorating
We were really happy with our room. Lovely & spacious. And ‘proper’ sized mugs for a cuppa! Both my husband, myself & our dog were made to feel really welcome by the helpful, friendly staff. Fabulous food, whether it be the breakfast off the menu. Really good quality ingredients. Council parking at the rear of the property. Only a short walk. Free overnight, so if you get the app it’s really easy to keep topped up for just when you need it.
Nothing really. Noisy at weekends, which some people may not like - but we knew this before we arrived - it is made very clear when booking & it wasn’t a problem for us at all. Would be nice to see the hanging baskets refreshed & the yard tidied, but this was very minor & didn’t spoil our stay.
MY work colleague id not have breakfast however ate in the restaurant in the evenings food was very good and exceptional on the Friday evening. Large room clean and comfortable.
Loud music at weekends but he had been warned so not a problem for him. Not really a negative as such.
The age and neatness of the building
We were kept awake until midnight by a DJ playing rediculously loud music outside our window in the pub/ hotels garden.
As The Crown is a pub the rooms were well placed providing a quite environment. The Publican was friendly, accommodating, & listens to any feedback. The staff and service were excellent & friendly. Feedback: look into bike hire options.
The coffee - may be there could be a Press Caffettiera (or a large insulated flask dispenser) for fresh coffee instead of just instant coffee. Perhaps improve the opening/shutting of windows - the sash windows are out of balance.
Comfortable room and excellent breakfast.
Parking in council run car park inconvenient and costly.
Breakfast and one evening meal, we had very good standard and value for money
No muesli at breakfast
Breakfast is consistantly fab!
Nothing to grumble ar all.
Very clean, good value for money
Music, however we were warned about it and even given earplugs
great hotel in the center of the town, very helpful and friendly staff, the food is simple but nice.
parking can be an issue as there is no parking on site, i was there for work so taking all my tools and equipment out of the car at night is not always going to be easy. generally it is a place i would recommend to a friend.
Great location on Market Square. Compact clean room with large bathroom in historic pub. Welcoming on a wet day, with easy check in. Dinner in the pub was good and appreciated the discount for guests. There on a week night, so slept well. Excellent buffet for breakfast, including cooked options. Overall, excellent value for money.
Excellent breakfast with a friendly chef. Close to the Catholic Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham .
Staff great .Luke very helpful
Very overprixed
Ideal for my trip to Fakenham races, right in the main square and a twenty minute walk to the course. Clean ,. Comfortable with a bar on site.
Nothing, everything was good.
Greeted by a gentlemen called Luke who was friendly and made my wife and I welcomed. Who shown us to our room. The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious and clean with a good shower. A choice of times were offered for breakfast and the lady who was cooking was really nice mannered and easy to talk to. Well worth the money and my wife and I will definitely be going back.
Every was amazing
The breakfast was very good
Was not able to get the TV to work Barmaid was not interested said she was on her own did not believe this as it was very busy I I was on my own and there was a lot of noise from outside but no to so could not drown it out
Ausgezeichnetes Frühstück, bequeme Betten und sauberes Zimmer. Das Abendessen im Pub war ebenfalls sehr fein.
Kein Wlan in unserem Zimmer nur in den öffentlichen Bereichen.
Lovely breakfast, wide gluten free options, friendly staff
Breakfast was great but fresh coffee would have been nice. Fun place. No hairdryer in room or fridge and very hot
See above
Cleanliness, value for money and excellent breakfast which was included
Being a weekend the noise from the downstair pub
It was in the town centre. Excellent breakfast!
No car parking on site but the public carpel was only a short walk away
The room was large and comfortable.
It got a little noisy on Saturday night, but you have to expect that staying in a pub!
Great location and old historic inn. Friendly and helpful staff.
Some people may not like the karaoke on a Sunday evening but we enjoyed it.
Good price
Not the fault of the hotel, but people in the room above shouting and banging around until around 4am, not great when we needed to be up early
Great location, room and pub were all as described, very helpful and friendly staff and bicycle friendly
Location is great.
The mattress could do with renewing
Great location. Comfortable room Friendly staff
Everything was fine
Clean and comfortable.
Friendly but professional, lovely size room and the bed was comfy. The food in the restaurant was lovely. Nice breakfast.
The green fire exit light in the bedroom. It was so bright you need a eye mask to make it dark. I understand it is needed for safety but it lit up the whole room
meals were very good and the staff were very accommodating , the bed was clean and lots of cushions , pillows were good and comfortable. Lovely heated towel rail and shower was good too , room was spacious nice big TV
the church clock going off every hour upto midnight then continuous throughout early hours of the morning so woke up more tired, the toilet did not flush every time. No hairdryer a small thing but normally in every hotel room
