It was quite expensive and very poor value for money. The accommodate was very basic and worn out. The bathroom was really not great.

Reviewed Sep 10, 2026We had a pleasant stay overall. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was fantastic, the food was absolutely delicious! The accommodation, however, felt a little overpriced for what was offered. The rooms were quite basic, with a shared bathroom and no kitchen, not even a communal one. The staff and excellent restaurant were definitely the highlights of our stay.

The room floor wasn’t clean - it was full with sand and dirt. There was humidity in the room - it rained and we tried to dry some rain jackets in the room - difficult!

This appears to be an old fish processing vessel, factory, or something similar that has been converted into a hotel. The room had two small windows located near the top of the wall. There were no bed linens in the room. After searching, we found a cabinet with linens in the corridor. There was a bad smell in both the room and the bathroom. Hot water was available only in the evening. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience.

Reviewed Aug 25, 2026-Lage top in einem Fjord gelegen -Zimmer sauber -Das Restaurant ist ausgezeichnet -Gute Möglichkeit Touren und Ausflüge zu buchen (wenn auch teuer)
-Im Badezimmer stank es den gesamten Aufenthalt extrem nach Fisch (Zimmer 9), höchstwahrscheinlich war die Unterkunft früher eine Fischhalle -Beim Front Office wurden wir trotz mehrmaliger Konsumation jedes mal erneut erstaunt als Hotelgäste bemerkt -Die Sauna und der Hot Tube waren an einem Tag nicht in Betrieb, auf Nachfrage hiess es, dass liege daran dass aktuell wenig Auslastung im Hotel ist. Am Folgetag wurde diese nach mehrmaliger Nachfrage gestartet, allerdings musste der Koch gerufen werden um das Feuer in der Saune starten.

Die Hochbetten waren sehr geräuchvoll. Auch war alles sehr hellhörig. Schlaf fanden wir dadurch sehr wenig.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026It was a simple place to stay at with lots of guests that felt like you are at the dormitory. It was clean but you have to make your own bed with provided linens.
The shutters were broken, you can’t roll them back as soon as you put them down. It was noisy. Somebody unlocked our room and opened the door without excusing while we were resting.

Reviewed Jul 25, 2026Camp Steinfjord offers a fantastic opportunity to experience life in a genuine fisherman’s haven. Although we didn’t go fishing ourselves, we loved chatting with the fishermen and watching them unload and expertly fillet the day’s catch. The highlight for us was the traditional sauna followed by refreshing plunges into the icy sea—just watch out for the jellyfish! The food at The Fat Cod was excellent throughout our stay.

Störande med ytterdörr utanför vårt rum med folk som kom och gick mycket så dörren slog så det skakade. Saknade dörrmatta, skohylla. Ingen propp till diskhon, gick ej att diska annat än under rinnande vatten.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2026We stayed 1 night as 4 people in a 2 bedroom apartment and it was perfectly fine for us (2 single beds in each room, which we put together). The area was very cozy. Seemed like it was used often by locals as a fishing camping spot. The restaurant food felt really fresh and was amazing (Fish soup, Catch of the Day, Fish and Chips and Reindeer Burger). - we highly recommend trying it!

Camera con quattro letti a castello, con piccolo bagno privato e doccia in comune. Alloggio essenziale, non fornito di cucina ma con la possibilità di mangiare al ristorante. Rapporto prezzo qualità non ottimale, ma comunque buona posizione per muoversi sull'isola.

El personal va ser molt amable amb nosaltres; ens va servir oferir sopar tot i arribar quan la cuina va estar tancada. Les instal·lacions estaven molt bé i l’habitació de quatre persones amb bany era molt espaiosa. Molt recomanable.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026La struttura è situata in una posizione davvero splendida, ideale per godersi la natura e un contesto unico. La pulizia è stata impeccabile sia nelle camere che negli spazi comuni, in particolare nelle docce condivise, sempre molto ben tenute. La stanza, composta da quattro letti (due letti a castello), è risultata perfetta per tre persone, permettendo di avere uno spazio privato e confortevole. Anche i letti erano comodi e l’ambiente nel complesso accogliente. Il personale è stato gentile e disponibile durante il soggiorno. Inoltre, è presente una colonnina per la ricarica dell’auto elettrica: non è molto veloce, ma è comunque un servizio utile e apprezzato.
In camera era presente solo il bagno con WC, mentre le docce erano in comune: questo può risultare un po’ scomodo per chi cerca maggiore privacy. Era disponibile uno spazio comune con microonde e bollitore, ma mancavano utensili essenziali come tazze e stoviglie, rendendo difficile prepararsi anche qualcosa di semplice. Era necessario richiedere tutto al bar sottostante, il che risultava poco pratico. Inoltre, non è praticamente possibile cucinare in autonomia e per i pasti si è vincolati al ristorante della struttura, che offre una scelta piuttosto limitata (solo tre piatti, tra cui un’opzione vegana).

Reviewed Mar 9, 2026De chefkok Jelle is uitermate vriendelijk en werkt onwijs hard. Moest alles in zn eentje doen. Dacht mee in oplossingen.Het eten was fantastisch en met liefde bereidt.
Qua collegialiteit vonden wij het andere personeel 'oke'. Aangezien er in ons appartement diverse zaken niet compleet waren of defect zouden wij in een andere kamer kunnen volgens de chefkok. Echter mocht dat niet van zn collega omdat er andere gasten zouden komen die nacht. Dit bleek achteraf niet waar. De collega was vriendelijk maar in onze optiek liever lui dan moe. Tijdens het eten savonds was de collega nergens te vinden of te zien (wij hebben zeker een uur tot anderhalf uur gezeten ) . Dit is jammer aangezien je een stuk aandacht mist voor je klanten.

Reviewed Feb 12, 2026I absolutely loved staying here !!! Such an amazing view. It’s right in the end of a small fjord / village. If the sky is clear you can easily see Northern lights right at the front door of hotel. Very quiet and relaxing. As soon as you step out of the front door you have very very close mountains all around. Back rooms but clean and had fridge and bathroom in room. Shared showers, microwave in the hall. I highly recommend staying here during the winter if you’re in the area.

Très professionnels et très chaleureux. Le fait que l’hôtel propose un restaurant + un bar est génial. Il y a aussi un billard et un sauna. Et puis la vue à couper le souffle du matin au soir…..
Quelques bémols: -Le jacuzzi ne fonctionne pas. C’est dommage car il était indiqué sur l’annonce alors qu’il était mis hors d’usage (et donc gelé). -Devoir faire son lit tout seul. L’hôtel est tellement beau et le personnel si professionnel, que devoir faire son lit entache un peu l’expérience. -Salles de bain communes propres mais façon cabine de bateau. Peu d’intimité car ouvertes en bas.

Dans la traduction française de booking il était précisé une salle de bain privative ce qui n'était pas le cas, nous n'avons dans pas prise de douche. A ce prix là, ce n'est pas sérieux. C'est une erreur importante de booking, qui je l’espère nous dédommagera.

The staff was extremely helpful and became our hero’s as our car needed a jump start and they worked together to get our car running so that we didn’t miss the ferry - thank you to all who helped us!!!

Reviewed Oct 30, 2025Le cadre est magnifique et le personnel est très agréable. Tout était très propre et l'hôtel était silencieux. Nous avons mangé au restaurant de l'hotel et c'était délicieux.
J'aurais aimé avoir une chambre un peu plus chaleureuse car il y avait une toute petite fenêtre en haut et un minuscule salon. Une douche privative n'aurait pas été de refus.

Alles weiß im Zimmer, Licht in Küche kaputt, Beschreibung und Antwortzeiten auf Frage bei Buchung zu lang. Von außen eher eine Fabrik, nicht sehr einladend

Reviewed Oct 13, 2025- friendly staff and very nice atmosphere in the restaurant - room clean and toilet in the room - good food at the restaurant - spacious room with fridge and couch area - very nicely situated - good spot for northern lights
- mattress was saggy, bunkbeds not too comfortable and very squeaky when moving - you could hear the other guests - room next to common showers so quite loud at times

Reviewed Oct 6, 2025Staff were very nice, good atmoshpere, gorgeous setting, off the beaten track-feel, fresh fish.
Coffee machine, but no coffee in the room, and no shop at walking distance to buy coffee (or anything else). When I asked, the staff answered that I could get complimentary coffee from the machine in the restaurant. But the door of the restaurant was locked at night, and didn't open until after 8am. I had already left my room three times prior to that time. There was no sign indicating opening hours of the restaurant.....really annoying on your holiday, to not be able to get your morning coffee.
