Vikajärvi Lake View Experience Igloos

Location and cottage facilities

Na

The igloos and the common cottage are located on a beautiful lake. They are very cozy and warm, from the former you can enjoy the amazing colors of the northern lights just lying on your bed, from the letter you can enjoy the view of the lake while either sitting on the porch and the comfortable couch. Everything is very clean. There is WiFi everywhere.

I liked everything

Really wide selection of good fresh food in a really cozy setting, everything super clean and organized yet incredibly cozy.

Soggiorno di una notte fantastico! Igloo piccolino ma accogliente e funzionale. Pulizia ottima e proprietari gentili e disponibili. Cottage pulito e molto accogliente. Buona colazione e frigorifero ben fornito. Super consigliato!

Niente

Good position, clean, the host was super friendly, a big breakfast was available every day, the kitchen was really well equipped with all the necessary utensils. We felt right at home and we would come back

The breakfast was delicious and a good variety. Beautiful cottage with great views. Loved every part of it. Used the sauna and cooled off outside in the snow. Host was super friendly and kind when greeting us. Had everything we needed. The igloo itself is small but perfect for sleeping and looking at the scenery.

Nothing. Everything was wonderful.

It was a great stay. The whole experience from checking in to staying and then checking out was easy and seamless. The host was extremely helpful as well, even provided snacks and breakfast for us 🙂

The igloo is AMAZING!!

Facilities and service. The igloo was nice and warm. Entry with password. Mark was very welcoming and helpful. We were lucky to have the main cottage all to our selves. We enjoyed the sauna, the fireplace, and the breakfast. You can see their attention to details. Unfortunately we didn’t see aurora lights there because of thick clouds. But if you arrive you a good day, surely you can see because the igloo is on the lake with lots of open ground and you can see far. Overall, a very good stay. Beyond our expectations.

Honestly nothing.

Had a conflict with the hotel booking and our tour for Aurora Hunting since it was cancelled for two days. We talked to the owners and they were very understanding. When we arrived, the cottage was all to ourselves. We were surprised with all the amenities and did not expect to be that complete. It was cozy, safe and comfortable.

None

Rien

The igloo was perfect and a unique experience. Comfortable and warm, and the view - wow! Supported by use of a cottage (1 between 2 igloos in our case) where there was a fully stocked kitchen, sauna and bathroom, the whole stay was just wonderful. Helped by the most amazing aurora display.

Nothing

Tutto!

Wonderful. The host is amazing and we were lucky to see the northern lights from the igloo.

Great location

Nothing

Everything was super clean and cosy, both the common areas and the igloos. The latter had bluetooth for music, a complimentary drink, and were lovely. The best part of my stay was the host though! He helped me reach the accommodation, and has been extremely kind throughout. At night he even rang me to let me know about the northern lights. I didn't pick up, and he came knocking to ensure I saw them (they were very strong that night). He was so kind and made the stay 100 times better. I also loved the sauna overlooking the forest.

NOTHING!!!

EVERYTHING!!! My goodness everything was perfect. The location was not too far out from the city centre but enough for us to feel like we can get some nice quiet time. The igloo itself had everything you could’ve asked for, a built in speaker, comfy bed and beddings -everything. We took advantage of borrowing the snow shoes and went on abit of an adventure at the nearby hike route. The communication was always so prompt and quick, the cottage had everything you need. We loved our time here so much and wish we had another day.

Stayed for one night at Vikajärvi Lake View Igloos and had an amazing time. Marco picked us up from centre of Rovaniemi and was chatty, funny and full of local information. When arriving at the igloos we were given access to a main cottage and our code to enter our igloo. The main cottage is incredible !! Fully kitted out with literally everything you need. A breakfast box is left for each igloo in the fridge and contains fruit, pastries, drinks, granola etc etc. The main fridge also has various drinks / foods / eggs etc that is free to use … there is also a huge choice of coffees & teas. The igloos themselves are not huge BUT are all you need and were well insulated / equipped. We were not lucky enough to see the northern lights as there was too much cloud but we were greeted with the most amazing sunrise ! We spent the next morning exploring the local forest / lake and some sledding too 😊. Cannot fault our stay here and would totally recommend. Many thanks Marco & Hanna - We would love to return one day and take some more photos !!

Loved everything!!

This was an amazing property and we loved every minute spent at the property from the rooms to the cottages. Marco was an amazing host.

NOTHING

The scenery was perfection and the hosts were fantastic!

Nothing to say here.

You can see that the place is run from the heart, there is the igloo itself which was excellent and warm, in my opinion a bit small but it was completely clean and luxurious, and there is the house itself where you can shower and cook, the apartment owners make sure that there is everything there, from shampoo for hair to cooking oil, really everything! And everything is clean and pleasant, of course the owner of the business also came and smiled and asked if everything was okay. I really recommend the place just because you feel at home there.

When planning our stay in an igloo, I thought we would face difficulties with practical things like taking a shower etc. However, this specific accommodation exceeded all our expectations. The place is magical, with igloos situated on a frozen lake, very close to the city center and with a very easy access road. The igloos have their own private toilet and are super organized. Marko welcomed us with a smile and kindness, constantly asking if we needed anything else and being ready to provide it. The common area was spotless and exceptionally well-maintained, offering all sorts of amenities from personal care items to food and anything else one might need.

Everything was perfect

Prachtige unieke ervaring

Marko was very friendly and even came out to tell us about the northern lights so we wouldn’t missed it. He fetched us from city centre for a price given it was further away, and he didn’t leave until he introduced all the facilities and food! The hospitality is great, they prepared breakfast in the fridge for us in the shared house, and there’s a lot of food in the cabin, everything that you could imagine, so you can cook and even have more food. The sauna was also amazing and the igloo itself is so warm and cosy. We managed to see so many northern lights on our one night and we were so amazed and excited to be sleeping on the igloo on a frozen lake as well.

Nothing we didn’t like! The location is a bit further but that helps with seeing the northern lights!

We loved the placement of the igloos and it was very dreamy. The igloo was well heat insulated and gave us a beautiful view of the northern lights - the cabin was also very cozy and we enjoyed the sauna!

Liked everything! Hard to store large luggage in the igloo though!

Location of the property and the whole experience of staying. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Everything is prefect , nice host and helpful , beautiful view , and lotssssss of food provided, thankyou once again.

RAS

It was an excellent stay, well maintained.

Nothing, everything was just perfect

The igloos are clean and simple. The cottage was an unexpected surprise. Everything was above and beyond what we could have imagined. Marko was so helpful and kind. Was a restful and relaxing way to spend a few days.

Can really see the whole horizon! The shared cottage has everything too!

amazing hosts, the place was like in a fairy fale, saw the northern lights, perfect spot for them. this igloo was the highlight of our trip. thank you

Marlo (host) was exceptional! Helped us with how the igloo worked. Pointed out the northern lights. Helped us do ice fishing!

Nothing

The location of the igloo was good. The igloo was nice and cosy. The sauna in the common cottage was decent too. The common was more like a hostel with basic amenities to share.

But the igloo for the price offered was very very basic. As mentioned the best way to put it is it was a very expensive backpacker. The facilities provided were like staying in a hostel. The dry toilet was smaller than the one in a motorhome. Much much smaller🥹. Once inside you can’t move at all. The stay was breakfast included but it was the most horrible box breakfast. With frozen croissant 🥐, fruits, tetra pack juice. Really really disappointing for the price.

Igloo bem apertado.

La qualité des équipements et du logement. Superbe emplacement. Accueil chaleureux de l'hôte.

Wonderful honeymoon setup surprise prepared by the staff, was a very nice gesture! Didn’t manage to see the aurora as it was very cloudy that night but manage to catch a beautiful sunrise still! Cottage is very well-stocked and loved the beautiful place ~ Will want to come back and hopefully catch the aurora!
