Bliss Homestay Munroe Island

Nous avons passé trois jours absolument formidables chez Santhosh et sa famille. Merci infiniment pour leur accueil, leur gentillesse, leur générosité et leur hospitalité. Nous y avons pris tous nos repas, avec une cuisine maison typique du Kerala, succulente, copieuse, toujours différente. Nous avons pu profiter d'une superbe sortie dans les backwaters au lever du Soleil et du prêt de vélos. Les chambres sont confortables, propres avec une très grande terrasse couverte donnant sur les cocotiers, idéale pour se reposer. C' est de loin la meilleure adresse de tout notre voyage en Inde. Encore merci à nos hôtes.

Santoosh and his wife were great hosts and provided fantastic meals and arranged our canoe tours for Sunrise & Sunset- The had new pristine rooms,hot water a fridge.They arranged our Rickshaw to the train station - they rent bikes if you want to explore

Santhosh and his family were so warm, accomodating and friendly. I'd return in a heartbeat - I hope it doesn't take me long. Thank you for the food, lemonade and Chai :)

Santosh and his wife looked after us like we were family, cooking delicious breakfasts and dinner each day. We never had the same dish twice. Our spacious snd comfortable ensuite room was accessed from a first floor veranda where we could relax and look out over palm fringed ponds. Sunset snd sunrise boat trips were arranged for us. Our stay, particularly at the low price, exceeded expectations. A real home homestay.

What's not to like?

A Fabulous homestay in a lovely location, super helpful and kind family, great home cooked food, bikes available and can organise any boat trips you want to do. Nice big room, bed and sheets and bathroom and there’s a great shared balcony for the guests. Good WiFi. They even bought my train ticket and saw me onto the train when I departed! 🙏

Location was excellent, our room was comfortable and the owners were exceptional looking after all our needs, even taking us to the railway station and buying our tickets.

A real homestay experience in a very clean and modern room . Our hosts were SO helpful and made our stay on Munroe island very special. The home cooking was amazing. We saw beautiful sunrises and sunset on a boat .He even came with us to see us onto our train to varkala!

Beautiful clean homestay, fabulous location. Helpful and friendly family. Delicious meals. I would love to have stayed longer.

The hosts are very friendly and inspire of not so good English went out of their way to answer our questions. Food was very good and more than plenty. My daughter is vegan and although no tofu she had plenty options. The owner helped us get a great boat man at an excellent price.

There was nothingvthatcI did not like but there is room for improvement. A fan in the balconey, a swing or a place to sit by the watter, hot water was plenty but in a backet.

A wonderful family and a magic place to be ! :) Warm, welcoming, smiling and super helpful. I felt at home and prepared wonderful home-cooked meals. They helped me with my needs, organized a superb canoe crossing in the backwaters for sunrise, and also pointed me to an Ayruvedic center very close to their home. They invited me to accompany them during outdoor ceremonies. Very nice moments and exchanges spent together. I highly recommend stopping by if you go to Munroe Islands.

Bliss Homestay proved to be the highlight of our recent Kerala trip. The ambiance was truly delightful, creating a genuine homely atmosphere. The room was impeccably clean, offering ample storage space in the well-maintained cupboards. A standout feature was the warm and accommodating hosts; their friendliness and politeness made us feel truly at home. They organized a reasonably priced early morning canoe trip, showcasing their commitment to ensuring a memorable stay. A charming pond in front of the house added to the allure, providing a perfect setting for our family's fishing adventure. The hosts went the extra mile by preparing the fish we caught for a surprise lunch, delighting our kids. Choco, their lovable dog, became an instant favorite with our children, making it hard for them to say goodbye. The delectable food served at the homestay surpassed our expectations, leaving us with no desire to dine elsewhere. Overall, Bliss Homestay exceeded our expectations, creating lasting memories of a truly exceptional stay.

We planned on passing by for one night and stayed longer because of the family. The room was clean, spacious and had AC and a fan. Everything we needed was supplied. But the highlight was the lovely hosting family. We had meals around the clock there and the food was the best we've tried in India. Super versatile with new and interesting flavours. Our one year old daughter particularly got a special attention. She was well fed and played with, she loved it there. They even made sure we got on the right train. I couldn't recommend more.

If the Island had a beach we would've stayed even longer ;)

I have travelled over two months in India and this property was very easily the best accommodation I've experienced by far. Good sized room, very clean, aircon and fan, plus nice bathroom with hot water. Outside of the rooms is a lovely cool terrace and a sofa, fridge to keep your water. The hosts and their adult daughter and son were incredibly friendly, hospitable, charming and very helpful. Always smiling and happy. They arranged a great boat trip and took me to see the Dutch Church plus invited me and the other guest to attend a Hindu religious procession, music, colour, wonderful sights and a temple Elephant! Last but not least, the Lady of the house made the most wonderful food, the dishes were true Keralan, all home made, no additives etc. Fish curry, chicken curry, masala chicken, two types of rice, rice pancakes, parathas, naan, rice vermicelli, lovely vegetables, tapioca, lentils all cooked to perfection and x100 better than you find in a restaurant. This homestay is truly a gem.

Excellent family Excellent and beneficial gesture. Excellent food, nice taste, and a peaceful environment They will assist you in organizing the mangrove boating.

I loved living with this family who had a great sense of hospitality for a few days and who are the best cooks I've come across in India.

A fantastic place to stay. The food is home cooked with care, so it is delicious. The location is amazing, so peaceful and the wonderfully welcoming family will arrange a beautiful back water canoe trip if you wish. The facilities are new and really nicely done. You have a room with a large social area overlooking water and palm trees and banana plants. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

We were happy with everything, I cannot think of anything apart from perhaps adding an extra soft armchair in balcony area, where there is a fabulously comfortable lounger/sofa. But really we were very happy with every aspect of our stay.

The experience was awesome. Right after we arrived, they came to pick us up from the station and they had the breakfast ready for us. They had also booked us ferry ride to explore the island, and the view was just wow. Even the stay was very clean and hygienic. The owners were very sweet and caring. If you are a dog lover, the owners have a very very sweet boy, CHOCO. They even came looking for us after the ferry ride, as we were lost. Even the location was very nice, away from the hush and rush. Awesome experience.

Our stay at this homestay was the highlight of our Kerala trip. The rooms were neat and clean. The hosts were very welcoming and they helped us explore the place and the local culture. They made sure that our stay was comfortable. We got to enjoy delicious homemade dishes along with the Onam-special sadya. It is a great place for families and friend groups.
