Reviewed Aug 11, 2026Wirklich nettes Cottage, besonders bei Morgensonne Kaffee auf Terrasse zu trinken. Toll auch, dass es Nespresso Maschine UND Kapseln für guten Kaffee gab.
Bei dieser Preiskategorie könnte Terrasse tatsächlich besser gepflegt sein (kaputten Stuhl ersetzen oder einfach weg damit).

The weather was unseasonably warm and many flies came in the cottage when the windows were open. Closing the windows made it uncomfortably hot and stuffy. There should be some fans available. Also, the bedding (heavy comforter) was way too hot and some light blankets should be available if needed.

Für schlechte Tage standen auch Brettspiele bereit, sodass es einem an nichts gefehlt hat. Da es recht allein stehend ist, hat man auch keine direkten Nachbarn und somit Ruhe für sich

The location was a minor walk into two but I suppose this wasn't really a fault as we were aware of exactly where it was. There was other builders works going on adjacent to the property, they didn't impact our stay but tidying these areas may increase the look for people during the summer months when you would be sitting outside

It’s a nice little cottage and I could see how it might be more inviting in summer, but in January it felt a bit isolated and run down. It’s in an odd spot - close to a bridge in what seems to be an industrial area. Considering the price, I would hope the general maintenance/condition be of a higher standard - the toilet is loose, there’s a detached plug, some peeling paintwork, broken blinds, extra bedding dumped on top of cabinets etc.

Despite the weather being cold and dark and the location being right near the beach the cottage was warm and so inviting we hardly went outside 🥰 Ruth the owner had set up everything pre our arrival and was only a text away if we had any problems or questions. Would definitely recommend staying there and will hopefully return this year for another stay at the Murrough Cottage🥰

Ruth was very helpful and ensured we had everything we need for our stay. Lovely home touches in the cottage itself to make our stay comfortable. Parking was right out front.

This is a very roomy cottage which also features large outdoor seating areas. Beautifully decorated and perfectly clean! When we had some questions, Ruth responded immediately and stopped by to check on us as well! Communication throughout the process of reserving and staying at the cottage was seamless and attentive. Thank you, Ruth! Wicklow is a great hub town for visiting this part of Ireland. Every local person that we met greeted us warmly and offered ideas for our trip in a welcoming way. Don’t miss seeing Glendalough or Black Castle if visiting Wicklow!

Reviewed Apr 18, 2025We loved having a promenade right outside our door along the Irish Sea. We chose it as a place away from Dublin where we could recover from jet lag. It didn’t disappoint. We liked the laid back atmosphere of Wicklow and enjoyed walking and resting before starting our driving tour of the country.
It rained the first day we were there, but we had glorious sunshine our second day.

The location was amazing and so nice to hear the waves lapping and see the bay from the warmth of the sofa. The owner had such an eye for detail, loved the crate boxes which held all the glasses and cups. Just a wonderful stay ✨️
