Okiep Country Hotel

The hotel has a museum depicting the history of the area, which is fascinating for people interested in history. The formal lounge in the hotel, also documents a lot of the history. The food in the restaurant is outstanding. Highly recommended to all travelers. The hotel rooms are comfortable and clean. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. It is their mantra. The food was very good. No one could go hungry there. The accommodation is comfortable.

We were a group of 6 senior citizens and we stayed the the self catering unit. This beautiful house was very comfortable and was well equipped and very close to the hotel and so we were able to access the dining room, where the food was excellent. The manager and staff were all very helpful and friendly and it was great to have a tour of the old pump and chimney stack next door. The museum on the premises is very informative.

The hotel has an excellent table - a la carte and buffet - with a variety of choices. The diningroom has a very warm ambience, with friendly staff.

My 2nd time staying at Okiep in 3 yrs. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and nice size, I love the outside rooms where you can park your car in front of your room behind security gates. It's lovely quiet, AC, Heaters all the comforts, and a lovely restaurant. I love that I can have all my meals there and not just breakfast.

The Okiep Country Hotel has friendly and accommodating staff, and we were particularly impressed by the warmth and quality of the service. We also thoroughly enjoyed the food, especially the lamb sandwich - it was absolutely delicious!

The only downside was the size of the bathroom, which felt a little cramped, as well as the lack of hooks or suitable places to hang towels and clothing while showering.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was very good! We were looking forward to the buffet, but it wasn't available on the evening -only a la carte.

We stayed in one of the self-catering houses, but I will prefer to stay in the hotel rooms next time. Our neighbors had a late and loud party....

Great Room with large walk-in shower. Lovely good quality towels. Staff very friendly and helpful. The evening meal at the restaurant was amazing as was the breakfast the next morning.

We were given the choice of rooms and we chose the one right next to the car for easy access of luggage transfer. Nice friendly cat to greet us :o) The lounge was perfect to sit in and catch up on emails etc whilst drinking form the bar. This hotel has a lot of historical blurb on the walls concerned with the local mine. Dinner in the evening was good and filling. Breakfast was equally satisfying.

A great stay at a historic building. Everyone from the reception to the team managing the kitchen and restaurant were exceptional. Malcom, you’ve created a unique and superb experience. Easy to get to, exceptionally well maintained and managed, in every detail.

Dinner ie food was not as good as one would expect from a Hotel like this, tough piece of steak on Saturday night and was clearly an off cut of the steak not a 200gram rump, cold toasted sandwiches on Sunday night, The hotel was nice rooms clean and comfortable. I need to travel to Springbok a lot more in the future but the food and waitress that never came back to me when I complained about the steak will make me think twice, our bill was R8000 approximately so I would think that is good business for the hotel, so I did expect the waitress to come back to me re the steak, thanks

did’t expect the private ‘house. With 3 bedrooms ans 2 bathrooms in such a bad condition. Im sure now we should have taken 2 double or family rooms. Would have been happy to pay a bit more . Were misleaded by the coments that the private house was perfect for 2 couples …. NO !

Provide hooks so that towels can be hung up and if you have a desk a chair would be great too yo ge able to do work

The food was good. Supper as well as breakfast. The building old but ok for a one-night stay. The pigeon den in a very bad shape and filthy.

Staff was friendly

The room was really small and run down. The paint was comming of the wall and the doors. The room smellt strongly of a chemical cleaning solution, inkl. the bedsheets which were stained. The mattresses were old and had no support anymore. There was no window you could open.

Breakfast was buffet with a wide variety of foods and eggs in a nice dining hall. Bed was comfortable, big shower, good parking in front of rooms in fenced-in area. Did not need aircon (only 7 C this night) but room is equipped with AC and TV. Its a quiet area. Dinner was also very nice. I recommend the lamb curry.

Das alte Hotel hatte viel Flair,….es gab auch ein kleines, kostenloses, sehr interessantes, Museum. Werner, der Manager machte uns auf das Museum aufmerksam,……sehr nett!!!

There was a leaking on the roof, we called the reception to report it. They sent someone to check, but they just left without cleaning the floor which was slippery and dirty.

Das Hotel eignet sich bestens für einen Zwischenstopp. Das gesamte Personal war super freundlich. Besonders erwähnenswert ist das Essen, welches ausgezeichnet war. Top Preis Leistungsverhältnis! Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!!!

Breakfast good, loved having brewed coffee - unusual in Africa!! ;) and the French press in the room exceptional! Excellent facilities and the historical aspect lovely. Great amenities - a bit for everyone. Room heater, electric mattress pads, insect spray and cream unexpected.

my TV didn't tun on. Bathroom tile floor FREEZING. Maybe some disposable slippers provided would help?

Sehr überraschend in der Stadt dann in das Hotelgelände einzufahren und dann das sehr gut geführte Hotel vorzufinden. Das Personal ist top geschult und absolut überragend im Restaurant. Nette Terrasse, netter Innenhof. Sicheres Parken war gegeben.

Es ist generell in die Tage gekommen und viel los da auch größere Veranstaltungen durchgeführt werden.

Een goed hotel net buiten Okiep. We waren op weg naar Namibië. Het is een perfect hotel voor een tussenstop.

I liked that the house was spacious, beautiful bathrooms, furniture was excellent quality, and beds were so comfy. Fully equipped kitchen with mastercheff cuttlery and pots. . I liked the garden and pool aswell
