Provider-sourced guest reviews.
It was a very warm and friendly environment. It was cozy and the staff were nice and helpful.
The room was a bit small and tightly squished together.
Lovely overnight stay on way to Blackpool, would recommend it.
I would like free beer.
room adequate but bed uncomfortable
the bed
Friendly staff. Wonderful view from the front door.
No internet in the pod, despite the site advertising it. You could feel all the springs in the bed. No waste bin in the room. There could have been more work surface space.
Lovely place, lots of caracter
The pod was warm & comfortable, and it was nice to wake up to ducks out on the pond!
Couple of spiders in the pod, and also no bin. The door was also a bit of a nuisance since it doesn't stay open by itself & there was nothing to hold it open.
The location
No lighting around the pods, pathway could be improved to the pods. Only one chair provided to sit outside. Breakfast was poor, cold and not up to standard.
Spacious room, lovely and clean Comfy bed.
Cafe not open til 9am- could it be earlier?
Convenient for an overnight stop en route to Scotland. Located close to motorway
No early breakfast available
Close to where we were visiting family
Needs to be updated was dusty & the fire alarm green light illuminated the whole room Booked a king room but was only a small bed
We stayed for a wedding being held at the venue so very convenient. Pods were in a nice location overlooking a pond . Venue and bar area were very nice.
Beds were not particularly comfortable
Location
I have emailed you separately regarding my experience that night, as a lone female I was extremely traumatised by the experience.
Loved it all, the lake view was amazing the room was so clean and the bed was so comfy

Staff were great, Had breakfast in cafe and was enjoyable
Had no internet and hairdryers were not working in rooms 1 & 2
Nice location
Wasn’t clean have photos to prove , felt like you was left alone when you got your room! People playing loud music STRONG SMELL OF WEED not hotels fault but when your paying a lot of more staff should do more
The room I stayed in was basic but perfectly clean, the location is absolutely lovely, scenic and would stay again.
Not a lot. The room wasn’t anywhere near the best room I’ve stayed in, however the location makes up for that.
The pub and beer garden was pleasant. Easy to park.
Abysmal - the ‘pods’ were awful, mouldy, cramped, cob webs and insects everywhere and backing on to a train line with freight trains speeding past all night. Let alone the mattress, if you like sleeping on metal springs then this is the place for you. Showers? Don’t bother - disgustingly dirty, mosquitos everywhere, old damp towels all over the place, seemingly no regular cleaning schedule, and the water flow best resembled mist.
Excellent value for money. Great staff. Nice location
Room was clean and tidy and well maintained by housekeeping service.
Attitude of bar staff who also handle reception function, especially dark haired chap with tattoo of text on his neck - he was extremely rude. On first night achieved less than 2 hours sleep due to noise from what I assume was an air conditioning unit located close to my windows (my room had no air conditioning so windows needed to be open) and incessant noise from the M6. Guest WIFI didn't work in my room, which I reported to staff which achieved absolutely nothing
Neat camping pods with great location - just off M6 so great place to break a long journey heading either north or south. Good sound proofing - there was a school prom in the function suite but we couldn't hear it from the pods. Tranquil setting by a pond with ducks and a donkey in the field next door
Only 2 toilets and showers between all 6 camping pods.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The location was ideal and although close to the M6 relatively quiet. The facility is well used but we always found a place to sit and eat comfortably. The outdoor facilities are excellent.
If we intended to stay longer than 2 nights we would have liked a slightly bigger room with the ability to sit and eat around a table located within the room. With the facility attracting a lot of visitors (at the time we attended) it would be nice, on a longer stay, to have areas dedicated to the people using the Farm as an accommodation.
Great location lovely pub and ground, staff all lovely
The room had lots of cobwebs, the shower tiles had heavy black mould, some of the bed linen had mould and Staines on it
Staying at Charnock Farm was a genuinely lovely experience. The glamping pods sit right by a peaceful lake, making mornings calm and scenic. The pods were cosy, clean, and perfect for a relaxing break. The farm animals around the site add real charm and make the place feel warm and welcoming. I didn’t eat in the restaurant or café, but both looked fantastic — great atmosphere, tempting menus, and stylish interiors. The bar was also a highlight with nice beers and a comfortable vibe. Overall, Charnock Farm is a brilliant mix of nature, comfort, and great facilities. I’d happily return.
It was all great.
Lovely staff, lovely garden, excellent room. Food was great!
Friendly staff, good location close to the motorway and lovely setting
The mattress was so uncomfortable, felt like a very cheap old sprung mattress, I could feel the springs and felt like the bed was slanted and felt like I was rolling out of bed, I've stayed here a few times before in the rooms and the beds were great but the mattresses in the pods were not up to the same standard.
Easy book in and great location
Absolutely loved it. Stayed with my son who had me up at a ridiculous time to feed the donkeys. Would stay again. Warm and comfortable. Facing the little lake which was lovely. Shower and toilets were much better than I thought. Clean, warm and towels provided. The attached pub is sound for a drink and a pub meal.
The location was great for what we wanted.
The noise from the wedding reception. The windows need to be better at keeping noise out.
Lovely place
Location very handy for M6 & having both a pub & cafe on site gives options for food whatever time you arrive. I have been before & love the rooms with a lakeside view especially as you can also sit at table & chairs outside your room if weather is good.
Some parts in the room needed attention like the dust on the curtain poles & cobwebs. At the bottom of the bed on the carpet there were bits & by legs of the tv unit which the vacuuming had not picked up. Needs a nozzle around legs of furniture & feet of bed. Area if the grey carpet near patio door is grubby & carpet needs a clean. These bits let down the rest of the accommodation which otherwise is really nice. (Had a new rug by the patio door but 2 plastic tags from the label left sticking out & need cutting off - these little things will make a massive difference.
Staff were friendly, the bar was buzzing when we arrived, quite clearly well-frequented. The room was round the back, so you couldn't hear any of the noise going on at the bar. The room was clean, as was the shower room.
It's not the owners fault, but we barely got any sleep the one night we stayed. The person in the next room along from us had been drinking, and come 1AM he was letting everyone know about how awful he felt. He passed out after an hour, then woke again to remind us all that he wasn't feeling any better yet. Didn't get back to sleep until 4AM. We needed to be back on the road again at 6AM, so it was a really rough night sleep.
The location was good for what I needed it for. The property was nice with a pub and cafe with a few bespoke shops and a small pond with ducks etc. the room was clean and tidy. It was nice and relaxing sitting outside the cafe next to the pond and watching the wildlife.
Paint peeling off the bathroom ceiling, toilet seat wouldn't stay up, cobwebs in the bedroom and the TV wouldn't play some of the channels and kept losing signal. The pub had a very limited menu. The mattress was very soft and a bit lumpy
Everything about this property was exceptional. It is set in a lovely area, with convenient access to nearby shops and dining options. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which made a real difference. The room was exactly as described—spotlessly clean, warm, and very comfortable. It was also wonderfully quiet, allowing for a great night’s sleep, and we woke up to a beautiful lake view in the morning. The food at the Mill Pub was delicious, and the staff there were just as friendly and accommodating. It was also a bonus that the pub is pet-friendly. The Lake View Café was equally impressive—we enjoyed a lovely breakfast while watching the baby ducks, followed by a visit to their donkey and pony, which was a charming touch. Overall, I have nothing negative to say about our experience. I would highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to stay again.
Haven’t a bad thing to say about it.
Easy access. Good onsite parking. Pleasant location. Choice of accommodation and walk in shower or shower over bath Comfortable beds. Food options onsite after 9am.
Nothing. Would have been useful to have food option for breakfast open earlier (eg 7:30am).
Clean, modern, friendly staff & bathtub!

Friendly staff and good stay
Nice spacious room.
It’s more roadside, less rural than I’d thought. Food very average in the pub on site. Small, over-processes menu. Dead dried worm on my bathroom floor. Shower tray had repaired crack.
it was clean and tidy. The staff were very helpful. Plenty of parking. Great out look.
Traffic noise goes on all day and night due to being next to busy roads.
Lovely views food good rooms comfortable

How you can hear everything single thing in the adjoining rooms
Everything is perfect.
Liked everything.
near to the place we had to get to each day
use of little milk pots which adds to plastic waste-milk better in small thermal cool flasks kept in fridge until guests arrive
Well located for my needs. A basic but comfortable stay. Very straightforward booking and checking in/out system. Room was serviced daily. Decent value for money.
Room was comfortable and clean but in need of some maintenance attention. Could not find any way to switch the bathroom towel rail on. Hairdryer was wired into a drawer and impossible to get plug to reach socket without removing the drawer! Just a few little things that would make the difference.
The location is perfect

The peaceful location near the pond

Location was very close to the M6 which was extremely convenient as I was travelling from Glasgow to Somerset. Easy check in despite me arriving at 10pm staff advised me through the process by phone.
The shower cubicle was very small & the shower rather lacked power I was glad I didn’t need to wash my hair.
Entirely mediocre. Not a complaint it was just an ok experience.
A couple of little dirty spots in room, light switch’s and tea station. Radiator in bathroom didn’t work so cold. Heavy ass bedroom door and creaky floorboards on landing. Quite noisy at night with plant across the road. Menu at the mill was not great and staff were ok. Becky was lovely.
Location was good, bar was convenient and had a good selection, reasonably priced too.
Very slight issue was the shower doors didn't quite close but it was really a minor thing

Breakfast was okay
Lighting to our pod on the first night was non-existent until gone 10pm. We were not told where the toilets were so went to the toilet block for the shopping arcade, which apparently shut at 9. We were informed about the toilet block in the Shepherd hut by the lady feeding ducks on the pond. The main focus of attention seemed to be on a wedding party planned for the Friday or Saturday.
Location and rooms are lovely
The Green light in bedroom is bright even though someone had placed tissue paper over it
This was my third stay at Charnock and not likely to be my last. The staff are the bonus, you are treated like a welcome guest rather than a number. A special shout out to the girls on the reception and to Linda who maintains the rooms to a fantastic standard, all lovely ladies. Any request made are never a bother and all go above expectations. I hope the owners reads this feedback and recognises and reward them as they are the establishments ‘stars’ and I’m sure why many make return visits.
I’m struggling to think of anything! Room was lovely. warm and clean with comfortable beds, powerful showers, lots of hot water, nice clean towels. A credit to the staff.
Nothing
It was filthy, freezing, full of cobwebs and mould, holes in the walls, ripped and dirty bedding, plug socket hanging off the wall, all in all an absolutely terrible place to stay
Spacious room Good location
Tired bathroom Filthy shower head Damp flaking paint above shower Bathroom not as clean as it should be Mouldy slip mat Wobbly shelf in shower
Arrived around 1pm and was allowed to check in early as rooms were ready. Entered into a really cosy room that had just been freshly decorated with fluffy throw on the bed, thick curtains and lovely bed and chairs. Lots of space and very clean. Had everything we needed for our stay. Had a very good sleep and felt well rested. The Mill pub has a very cosy with a nice relaxing atmosphere, we only had a drink so can’t comment on the food. Overall a very nice stay and would stay again.
Nothing to dislike.
