Erg Chigaga Regency Camp

Our driver and guide, Hamza, is a member of a nomadic family. The desert is his home, and his relatives and friends live there. This meant he was able to share some truly impressive and personal insights with us. Hamza’s vast knowledge and his friendly, cheerful manner made our stay in the desert unforgettable.

We had a wonderful stay. Salem met us in Mhamid where we were safely able to park our rental car in a dedicated parking and took a 4x4 to the camp. We saw camels and ostriches as the dunes slowly came into view. The dunes are an untouched paradise which stretch as far as you can see. Even at sunset there is almost nobody around. It's incredibly peaceful. The tents are spacious and even have their own shower and toilet. The dinner was tasty and large portions and we had some music and singing around the fire. The daytime temperatures in June were above 40⁰C so we slept outside under the stars. It was complete darkness except the incredible view of the stars illuminating the sky. The breakfast was also tasty and a good portion and we spent the day under palm trees at an oasis with a great lunch. We even spent time looking for fossils on our drive back. Thank you so much to Salem and the team for such an unforgettable experience!

Esperamos volverlos a ver pronto!

This property is nestled deep in the dunes. The accommodations are spacious, and the staff are gracious. Our arrangements were made entirely through Salem. He is a gentleman - kind, genuine and highly knowledgeable. He transported us to the camp and stayed there throughout our visit, ensuring that our stay was highly memorable.

Everything was amazing. I’ve met quite a few amazing people in the camp and really enjoyed their company at the table or fire (btw no one obliges you to share the table). All people were amazing actually 😅 Location - very quiet. Just at the edge of dunes 🏜️, very accessible. You exit the camp and immediately get into sand dunes. You can travel there freely, just always be aware of precautions. Sometimes I’ve seen other people far away from the camp but never actually met anyone while hiking. Tent - very cozy, warm, clean and safe. Private bathroom - is a huge advantage to other similar priced camps i’ve checked. I’ve been met at M’hamid and driven by 4x4, the trip itself is another adventure: amazing how landscape changes every 20 minutes. You will see almost all sides of desert there is.

Water - is a problem, pressure is very low and is a bit salty, but come on, you are in a desert. Dinner kinda overpriced but again, understandable - this is middle of desert.

10/10 doesn’t describe how amazing this stay was! A true desert immersion. We had a transfer from Mahamid. Our driver and also our guide spoke great English and provided an amazing experience, showing us the Nomad villages on the way. The food (we had lunch, dinner and breakfast) was one of the best we had during our 10 days in Morocco. The camp definitely exceeded our expectations, was right next to the big dunes, was super comfortable and clean, with our tent having a private bathroom with a shower and hot water. We took a camel ride to the big sand dunes and sand boarded down them. Cannot recommend enough! An absolute must when you’re in Morocco!

The accommodation was great. There are brick huts, which creates a good climate. The best experience in Morocco. Snowboards for going down the dunes are included in the price, great fun. If you are driving your own car, ask the owner for an accurate GPS so you don't get lost.

Overall, Sahara DesertCamp provides a harmonious blend of adventure and relaxation, making it a highly recommended destination for those seeking an unforgettable desert retreat.

An unforgettable experience in the heart of the Moroccan desert! The breathtaking landscapes, the serenity of the dunes, and the magical sunset made this bivouac truly special. The hospitality was exceptional, with delicious traditional food and warm Berber music by the campfire. Sleeping under the stars was a dream come true. Highly recommended for anyone seeking adventure and authenticity!"
