Reviewed Aug 22, 2026Nice surroundings and entrance rather elaborate and aesthetically pleasing however overall my experience at check in left me upset and ruined our stay fir the night. The waitress in the summit bar and restaurant was delightedly and helpful, however it just did not make up for it. .
Reception staff at my check in and a chat I had with a lady I assume was on a position of authority on check out.

Games room for children was more an amusement arcade where every game cost a minimum of 1€, in no way suitable for children under 10. I would like to have had the choice of fresh fish on menu for adults, battered fish and chips don’t count as fresh fish in my opinion.

Reviewed Aug 6, 2026The swimming pool was nice and the surroundings are very impressive. The garden is interesting, though a little strange to have a transplanted national monument as its main attraction. Room was fine and staff were all very pleasant.
Place is nice but a little faded and not really up to what we had expected. We enjoyed dinner but.food at breakfast was not great.

The rooms during the summer can get extremely hot!

One issue was we booked out dinner with the reception however when we got to the restaurant they had no booking for us. It wasn’t an issue as the restaurant did have an available room

I booked this as a surprise for my husband and grand kids. As you can clearly see from the above thread the booking was for 2 adults and 2 children. When they arrived at the hotel they were advised that the booking was only for 2 adults. Eventually they amended the booking to include the 2 children however the bedroom was only set up with 2 sets of towels. The hotel said the booking had been amended to remove the 2 children. Can you explain what happened with the booking as I was very annoyed to hear this considering the booking had been paid for in full in advance of the stay.

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026Absolutely stunning grounds and a very welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walked in! We stayed 2 nights for a wedding we were attending. Our room was so spacious with a separate bath and shower and super comfortable beds! All staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had!
