Hostel Speakeasy Fes

This place is terrible, I absolutely do not recommend it. Upon arrival, I waited for over an hour to reach the hotel and called the phone number on my booking, but someone answered and said it was the wrong number. After more than an hour, I got another phone number and told them I had a reservation. They told me the place was full and they had no empty beds. If I wanted a room, I would have to wait an hour, and they would provide one for double the price. Finally, they told me I could cancel the reservation myself. When I told them that if I canceled, the full amount would be charged to my bank card, and I submitted a cancellation request without fees, they refused it. They are more like a gang stealing money than a hotel.

Family run hostel with a homely feel. Proprietor Gita and her husband Idris are the loveliest couple I have the pleasure in meeting. They went above and beyond the call of duty to be of assistance and accommodating. Hospitality at its finest!! Will definitely be visiting and recommending ito all n the future. Bravo. Bravo

I liked the owners of the hostel, they were very helpful and friendly- for example lending us an extension lead to charge devices in the room (only one socket). Because of the layout of the hostel it felt a bit like a home stay so it's good that the owners provide such friendly hospitality and made all the guests feel welcome. The hostel was very clean and very cool decor, stayed in the six bed dorm which was spacious and nicely comfortable mattress Location was very good, only a few mins walk from the blue gate which leads into the medina area so lots of nice restaurants etc close by.

Like a speakeasy bar the location is a little hidden away, it's located on the ground floor of an apartment building and the only signage says people sleeping rather than the name of the hostel. There are plenty of signs outside on the street guiding you in so it was easy enough to find, just a little confusing at first! And the sliding door to the bathroom was a little noisy on it's runners so had to try to be quiet if other people are sleeping.

I really enjoyed my stay at Speakeasy Hostel. It is easy to reach by taxi and located on the edge of the old medina, accessible through a small archway and a little alley at the back, you have to recognize the sign board up. The hostel is beautifully decorated and very clean. Nearby there is a wonderful park to relax in, as well as several small restaurants and shops. Ghita and Driss are incredibly warm, kind, and hospitable. Emran, their sweet little son, enriched my stay in such a refreshing and lovely way. The 6-bed dorm is spacious and even has a sofa to relax on. It also has its own bathroom, which always smelled fresh and clean. Ghita even offers cooking classes. Thank you so much for your heartfelt hospitality. I would happily come back anytime.

The host was extremely friendly, helpful, and very kind. He even organized a ride for us, and they really make an effort to ensure you feel comfortable and welcome.

The room was humid.

It's clean and there's a lot of character. The hosts are very accommodating and the location is in the medina. My bed was more comfortable than a lot of the beds I've slept on in Morocco.

Imediatamente eu me retirei e procurei outro local.

Location

Organization, room (not towels, not possibility to hanger the phone of the shower, not socket near the bed....a power strip is not that expensive!)

Emplacement.

Staff only. Very nice guy.

The lights in the toilet was busted. Quite a small room for 6people. It was rainy, so part of the hostel was also wet because the roof/ceiling was broken/not fixed. They also dont give a key, and the door is always not locked, though reception staff is always available. There is no locker available. There is only one outlet for the whole room of 6.

Location

Rude owner, smokes inside and is dodgy. Place is quite dirty and doors cannot be closed not even the main one, everyone can enter. The street is very sketchy too.

It was great, quite and secure. The property manager, Said was a great host. I enjoyed every bit of my stay.

Everything was fine.

Breakfast

The room

location was really good

i had to sleep without fan.

Hostello molto bello e caratteristico, posizione ottima l' ost gentilissimo e premuroso., vicinissimo alla Medina zona tranquilla.

Said is an amazing host! I really loved my stay

The location

Bad service Noisy Poor hygiene

Riad esteticamente bello e decorato, atmosfera allegra e accogliente, posizione perfetta, proprietario gentilissimo e molto disponibile, letto molto comodo, bagno pulito e funzionale

I enjoyed staying here A clean and comfortable place and the people there are very welcoming big thanks to soulaimane he is a nice guy

There was no kitchen, no refrigerator, no luggage case, the worst part is that there wasn’t even a fan, while local temperature was more than 40 degrees, I really couldn’t bear it anymore and had to end my stay early. This was the first time I had encountered such a poor hostel.

Right at the touristy entrance side of the medina with a bunch of other accommodations, lots of tourist-centered restaurants near by. A 5-7 minute walk to the main roads of the medina. Breakfast every morning of some fried scrambled egg, bread, jam, and butter. Excellent service from the hosts of the hostel.

They got roaches, big roaches, small roaches (mostly in the shower) - its in a densely populated area, its kind of expected, the place is otherwise clean.

Super, very good place. Very tasty breakfast.

Ok

I like the hospitality , treatment, cleanliness and calmness , i enjoy my trip with my little sister , thanks to Zohra and Solayman they make your trip easy .... Appreciate your help to the next time Inchallah

Nothing bad actually

I liked this place, we had tiny cute room. Stuff was very helpful and kind. We had nice breakfast.

I had a great stay at this hostel. The place is well organized, and the value for money is excellent. The welcome was perfect, especially thanks to Soulaimane who did a great job and was very supportive throughout. Also, a big thank you to the lady who prepares breakfast — it was delicious and served with care. I highly recommend this place!

Thanks for Soulaimane and the lady who prepares breakfast

only location

my room smelt cigarettes, no soundproof, no soap or toilet paper in toilet

Great place, really cosy. Staff were delightful and so was breakfast!

Only could use more sockets, there was only one in the room :)

The breakfast was very nice!

The place is a bit hard to find. The beds are really high, a little bit dangerous.

Beds were comfortable and the location really perfect, best places are easily walkable. The owner is friendly and helpful. One thing which needs to be improved- the shower in 4 beds room. It really needs attention and repair.

Best cheapest option for fes

Property and sulaiman both 👍

Awesome place, Suleyman was a funny and friendly host. Great time. Great location.

Nothing.

Salman is very friendly . Great price and have breakfast t. Good location . Walkable to blue gate and Medina .
