Villa Tala

The staff is friendly, the breakfast is good, the AC works and the location is right by the water, you can also walk 10 minutes to the town of Tuapeijat where the ferry is. It is a nice house for photos but not really practical. You can also rent surfboards for 200k idr, snorkelling gear for 50k idr and get boats to go to spots or island hopping.

The water in the showers and the sink smells like poop, because there is sand and dirt in it, and the shower even didn’t work for half of our stay. There are holes in the walls so many mosquitoes come in all the time. The walls are so thin you can hear everything from outside and from the room next to yours. The pool is also not clean, you can see the water is foggy. The room is nice for photos but behind the bed its dirty and many stains from i don’t know what. The blinds also don’t really do what they are supposed to do, darkness.

We came to Villa Tala for a week and stayed two. If it weren't for other reservations, we would have happily stayed longer. We've been visiting Indonesia for over a decade, but the community in the village of Tuapejat and Villa Tala, along with their team, are probably number one on our list of places we want to return to. A wonderful location, a wonderful atmosphere, and above all, the people. Thank you to Hanafi and the other staff for such a wonderful welcome. Want a wonderful boat trip? The wonderful Lismen will take you and prepare a barbecue! Want to rent a motorcycle or car? Everything is on site! Just ask, and Hanafi will arrange everything! I apologize for not remembering all the names, but a huge thank you to the guys at the front desk and kitchen. We'll definitely be back because we already miss this place and the entire village. 🙏

Well maintained, comfortable and near the beach! Sigit was brilliant and catered to our every need!! All the staff were lovely!

The shower water was abit smelly

Erg mooi ingerichte kamers met een heerlijk ontbijt om iedere ochtend uit te kiezen. Pal aan het strand, en op loopafstand van een "bikini-strand". Vlakbij restaurantjes en vriendelijk personeel.

De kamers zijn gehorig, maar na 22.00u was het altijd rustig.

Nulla, a parte un piccolo inconveniente per la prenotazione da parte dello staff del taxi per tornare al porto di imbarco....tuttavia i ragazzi si sono adoperati con il proprio scooter per portarci in tempo..... 😀

Ne vous attendez pas à l' infrastructure d' un hôtel mais plutôt à l' ambiance d une auberge espagnol . Le complexe est plutôt petit une seule grande table pour déjeuner ensemble. Les murs sont bois donc peu d' isolation ,. L île est au début de son tourisme peu développée il fait savoir que l' eau est issue des récupérations des pluies , une odeur peut en ressortir quand vous prenez votre douche,maisnc est partout pareil sur l'île . Néanmoins cela reste le complexe le plus abouti de l' ile avec un personnel au petit soin . Les petits déjeuner sont excellents et fait a la minute . Merci à Sigit pour sa gentillesse ,Hanafi et Agus pour leur appétissant petit déjeuner et à Fadhil pour la propreté des lieux.

L’emplacement est idéal, la mer est à deux pas du logement. Sur place les petits déjeuners sont très bons, vous avez la possibilité de louer un scooter. Les chambres sont confortables. Le personnel est très agréable. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour à la Villa Tala.

Right upon arrival we received a paper with very strict rules about clothing (especially for women), having to be quiet because the walls are very very thin. Manager was friendly but came over fake, other staff was chill.

The rooms have a cosy design but their design is not practical and functional. There is no towel hanger or holder. All the guests go to the beach and have no place to dry swimming suits. The bathroom and shower should be split with glass or at least a curtain, because the inclination of the floor and slow sinking make the bathroom wet for a very long time. Also it would be nice to add an additional wardrobe or shelves, so one can put the clothes somewhere. The room is very difficult to be ventilated because of the unusual way of window opening, which can be open for only a few centimetres.

Very friendly staff, always smiling and ready to help. An outstanding location right in front of the most beautiful beach on Sipora Island. Good, tasty breakfast. A nice swimming pool.

The room sealing/insulation and overall cleanliness could be improved. We found a dead rat in our room. There were also lots of mosquitoes that kept appearing from “nowhere”. On top of that, the rooms are not soundproof, so we could clearly hear our noisy neighbors. The air conditioning was also unable to cool the room properly.

Best location, infront of Jati Beach. The staff were very friendly. They allow me for late checkout for free. Highly appreciate. The breakfast was good.

There is no sound insulated at all. You can hear sound from inside and outside the building. I booked seaview room, but the window couldn't be at all. The staff very exhausted while preparing breakfast, he was alone at that time. The sink was very messy, because he was busy preparing the food. As the location is quite far from the harbour (walk around 20 minutes), it would be good if they can provide pickup / drop off service to harbour.

Great hotel with excellent service! The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay especially Hanafi and the reception guy! I forgot to ask his name. The location was great and easy access to the restaurant. I would happily stay here again. ☺️

Het enige wat goed was aan de accomodatie was het personeel!

Ze laten je denken dat je een villa boekt. Dit is niet zo.. dit is een hostel. Maar oké, kan ik mee leven, zolang alles maar goed is. Dat was het helaas niet. Ik schrijf eigenlijk nooit een review, maar dit is nodig. Het zwembad was smerig en niet in gebruik terwijl dit wel in de omschrijving staat. De buitendouche deed het niet. Het water dat uit de douche en wastafel kwam was bruin en stonk verschrikkelijk. Ik kreeg huiduitslag. De douchekop en kraan waren helemaal verroest waardoor je amper je haar kan uitspoelen en de wc-brillen zaten los. De airco’s in de kamers boven werken niet. ‘s nachts liepen er, ik denk, ratten langs de muren. Stopcontacten in de kamers werken niet. Bij sommige kamers waren de toiletten naast elkaar, waarbij de muur niet geheel tot het plafond liep. Je kon alles horen.. en ruiken.. er is een strand voor het hostel. Maar vrouwen moeten bedekt naar de zee lopen.. 2 meter..

It was exactly as advertised. The rooms were great, and the breakfast was delicious. The manager, Sziget, was extremely helpful and always available whenever we needed anything. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Malheureusement le gros point noir c’est l’isolation… Nous entendons absolument tout ce qui se passe dans la salle commune comme si nous y étions. Nous entendons meme les gens faire leur besoin… La piscine n’est pas « fonctionnelle » car une fuite, mais on peut tout de meme s’y baigner (quand l’eau ne tourne pas…) Attention aux coupures d’électricité …

Na pierwszym miejscu obsługa pomocna, uśmiechnięta.Bardzo dobre śniadania świeżo rano przygotowywane.Lokalizacja też bardzo dobra w lokalnym miasteczku tuż przy plaży.

Niestety to co we wcześniejszych opiniach muszę potwierdzić akustyka pomieszczeń nawet stopery nie pomagają, jest bardzo głośno.Proszę wziąść pod uwagę że występują częste braki prądu po kilka godzin.Jak nie ma prądu to nie ma też wody jest to trochę uciążliwe obiekt nie posiada na tą okoliczność zastępczego źródła energii.

First of all, I would really like to highlight the amazing staff, especially Fajiri and Sigit. They were incredibly kind, respectful, and genuinely caring during our entire stay. From the moment we arrived, they went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome. Their attitude, professionalism, and warm hospitality truly made a huge difference. They took great care of us and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Honestly, they improved our experience by at least 100%. The owners of this hotel are very lucky to have employees like Fajiri and Sigit.

Unfortunately, the hotel itself has several issues that need serious improvement. The rooms are not insulated, so you can hear almost every noise from both inside and outside the building, which made it difficult to relax and sleep. During our five-night stay, we experienced daily power and internet outages lasting between five and seven hours. Because everything depends on electricity, this often meant no air conditioning, no internet, and sometimes no water or hot water. On our last day, renovation work started at 8 a.m., even though checkout time was 12 p.m., which was very disturbing. Overall, there are unfortunately several things that should be improved regarding the infrastructure and organization of the hotel. So while the staff deserve five stars, the hotel itself unfortunately does not, which is why I can only give two star overall. I truly hope the management will address these issues, because employees like Fajiri and Sigit deserve a hotel that matches their professionalism and kindness.

Começo por agradecer a Fajri ,Nafi e Sigit pelo incrível atendimento que me proporcionaram! Super prestáveis ,educados e fizeram com que me sentisse feliz aqui ! As instalações são modernas , confortável e giro . Boa localização , praia linda mesmo em frente ! Pequeno almoço sempre incrível e feito com amor 🧡 Para as refeições principais sem dúvida bumbang café que é muito perto ( 3 minutos a pé da Vila Tala ) onde para além dos pratos tradicionais deliciosos , os proprietários são igualmente atenciosos , simpáticos ! Há três pequenas ilhas em frente a tuapejat que pode ir de barco , eu fui ás três com o Lisman , um local que é amigo do staff e contribui fortemente para que a minha passagem por esta ilha se tornasse especial pela paixão dele por estas ilhas , tradições , cultura ! Obrigada a todos ♥️♥️♥️

Séjour incroyable avec un super accueil ! La chambre est très belle et confortable, la plage est à quelques mètres et le village est très charmant.

Ihana henkilökunta, hyvä aamupala ja useita eri aamupalavaihtoehtoja, kivasti sisustettu boho tyylinen pienehkö hostelli. Henkilökunta järjesti venereissuja ja autonvuokrausta sekä auttoi kaikissa mieltä askartuttavissa kysymyksissä. Kiva ravintola kiven heitön päässä. Hostelli sijaitsi aivan rannan tuntumassa ja muutenkin sijainti oli erinomainen.

Altaalla ei saanut olla bikineissä (muslimien kunnioitus), hostellin seinät olivat ohuet eli ei kunnon äänieristystä

Very nice place. Staff is awesome. Fajri and Sigit made us feel like home. They accommodated all our requests and were so friendly and welcoming. Villa Tala is right near the beach. Close to ferry (about 5-minute bike ride). Breakfast prepared by Fajri was amazing! Loved the balcony upstairs and the pool was great! Thank you very much!

I would have loved if the bathroom was a bit bigger. But everything was clean, sheets and towels were nice and beds were comfortable. Thank you.

Kaikki oli täydellistä. Henkilökunta ystävällistä, tuntui kuin olisimme olleet ystäviä ennestään. Meistä huolehdittiin todella hyvin. He auttoivat kaikessa, heidän kauttaan järjestyy veneretket läheisille saarille ja järjesti meille auton ja kuskin päiväksi. Aamiainen oli taivaallinen, ihana seurata kun kokki sen valmisti. Hostelli oli kaunis ja viihtyisä boho henkinen loistavalla sijainnilla.

I had the best stay - beautiful villa, with the friendliest staff and right on the beach. Delicious breakfast. Really nice pool and relaxation area.

The staff is super helpful and friendly, they were always available and willing to help. They kindly gave us mosquito spray, extra towels, some extra body lotion after we got sun burnt, sprayed our room with bug spray at night and gave us useful recommendatioms. They helped us with motorbike rental, surf lessons and island tours, although we did find better prices elsewhere. The common areas were great and location was excellent, 16 min walk from the harbour, next to some great places to eat (The Bakery, one next to that) and right in front of a beautiful beach. Breakfast was tasty and the room and common areas were neat and clean.

Our bathroom got clogged on the second day. The water of the shower, sink, etc smelled bad, but we assume this is an issue in the entire island. The walls are quite thin and it can be quite noisy at night, interrumpimg sleep. The communication with the staff sometimes is challenging, but we found this issue almost everywhere in Sumatra.

Les chambres le lieu vraiment sur le sable la mer devant est incroyablement belle la plus belle de l’île pas besoin d’aller plus loin ! L’équipe au top vraiment des gars incroyable et tellement souriant spécialement FIJRA d une bonté incroyable !

Property is in such a great location. Steps to an amazing beach. Some restaurants close by. Staff is amazing and so accommodating.

There is lots of mosquitoes that get into the room somehow. They give you bug spray to kill them every night, but throughout the day they come back. Also the walls are super thin so you can hear everything from your neighbors and I mean everything. Lastly it is a Muslim area and there’s some sort of Muslim mosque near by that blasts prayer music at 5am every morning. So bring ear plugs.

Tal vez le falte un poco de limpieza a las zonas comunes. Ceniceros llenos etc. Mala insonorización, se oye mucho el exterior. Gallinas, construcciones al lado, rezos etc

Localisation incroyable dans la ville de Tuapejat avec plage en face magnifique. Possibilité de réserver les excursions, surf et scooter au logement directement. Le petit déjeuner était incroyable, merci à Fajri pour son accueil, sa gentillesse et son investissement !

Aucune insonorisation, on voit la lumière à travers les planches de bois. Impossible de dormir le matin avec le bruit dans la salle commune ainsi que le manque de rideau opaque. À noter aussi, pas possible de se baigner en bikini sur la plage en face, ce qui n’est pas dérangeant mais indiqué nul part. Le ménage est à revoir notamment la salle de bain. L’implication du manager laisse à désirer même s’il nous a très bien accueilli !

Tutto! Posizione top. La struttura è pulita, molto accogliente e veramente molto bella. È ubicata in un villaggio local, fronte mare. La popolazione adiacente accoglie calorosamente i turisti, compresi i bambini. Nessuno ci ha mai fatto sentire straniere. Le zone comuni, compresa l’area piscina, sono ben curate e confortevoli. Le camere sono molto cute, spaziose e dotate di condizionatore che funziona alla perfezione. Una super nota di merito va al personale, sempre in loco e a completa disposizione. Sono ragazzi d’oro, che ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa. Sempre disponibili nell’aiutarci ad organizzare la nostra vacanza. In particolare Fajri che oltre ad essere eccezionale nella preparazione delle colazioni (i suoi pancake sono squisiti), ci ha conquistate con il suo sorriso e con la sua bontà d’animo. Consiglio questa struttura a tutti coloro che vogliono vivere a pieno l’esperienza delle Mentawai senza chiudersi in un resort isolato.

Le manque total d’insonorisation et d’intimité de la chambre. Nous avons logé dans une chambre en rez de chaussé vue mer. C’est comme si nous avions dormis avec nos voisins du dessus.

Our beds weren’t comfortable (the mattresses were titled towards the walls) and our room had no window, something that definitely should’ve been mentioned before. The same applies to the fact that women are advised not to use bikini in the beach right in front of it as neighbours are Muslim (we were ok with it but again, this should be stated when making the reservation). Apart from this, all great and I would probably stay here again. I would just make two recommendations: - cleaning and improving the beachfront area would be a bonus - beer prices are higher than elsewhere on the village, including restaurants, so they should be reviewed

La chambre sans l’option « vu sur mer » ne donne pas de lumière extérieure car elle est teintée . Elle se situe en dessous des escaliers du coup on entant le bruits des pas dans la chambre. La chambre se situe en face de la salle à manger au petit déjeuné impossible de dormir . Ne prenez pas la Chambre sans vu sur mer pour être tranquille

Es realmente todo, la ubicación (frente de la playa), el trato, el ambiente familiar, etc. Recomendable 100%. Si vuelvo a la isla seguro que a Villa Tala!

Fajri was exceptional with the breakfast; fresh fruits daily with the yoghurt bowl- he also never failed to make sure that breakfast is served every morning; Did not get the other staffs names but they were lovely as well- warm & helpful with every little thing that I require
