Hostal MOCAMBO BEACH

It’s a nice house, quite new, and the shared room has its own bathroom, a very nice one too. The owner is great, the location is good cause it further away from the beach clubs and you can’t really hear the music. For solo travelers I’d recommend Surf Camp more tho. For couples and families — it’s perfect!

The shared room is very stuffy and humid — there is very little ventilation. Be mindful of which bed you’re choosing, cause the upper bunk bed has extremely little room height wise.

La coordialidad y amabilidad de los anfitriones hacen que te sientas en casa, las instalaciones son amplias y limpias, el desayuno es delicioso. Sin lugar a duda es un sitio al cual seguiré volviendo.

La vista era perfecta, y todo estaba muy limpio.

Pregunté si hacían servicio de guarda equipaje, la chica de la recepción me dijo que si, y cuando volví por mi equipaje, no había absolutamente nadie en el hostal, porque resulta que ya había terminado su jornada laboral, cuando le pedí ayuda a la encargada del hostal de al lado se puso a discutir conmigo, diciendo que no era obligación de ellos guardarme el equipaje, al ver mi enojo a sus argumentos sin sentido no tuvo más opción que entregarme mi equipaje autorizada ya por los encargados vía telefónica. Terrible y muy mala experiencia al final. Otro día me hospedaré en otro hostal donde me asegure que cumplan con los servicios que ofrecen y no te traten mal por exigir el mínimo de educación y respeto.

The location is amazing .. such a beautiful beach and our room was right on the sea front with a hammock. Had the most relaxing and beautiful time. The room was comfortable and clean when we arrived.

The staff were not very attentive. On the third day we had to ask for our bin in the toilet to be changed, it would have been nice for this to of been done daily as obviously that bin is used for loo roll as well. But when we asked they did change it and they were very nice people.

No English spoken at all by the staff or by most people working around this area. You should also be aware that this place is off the main highway, making it more difficult to arrange transportation. Also, you need to walk 500m on the beach to access the hostel, not a place for suitcases as cars physically can't reach the place. No A/C so you also need to be aware that it will get hot. Not a bad place at all but it is not for everyone.

El ruido que se escuchaba del segundo piso, y cuando caminaban en el primero, todo suena.

Va ser un lloc molt autèntic. Senzill amb un bon esmorzar davant del mar. Preciós veure la sortida i posta de sol.

L’habitació va ser una mica justa epr 4 persones. L’espai molt just.

Great location at the end of the beach, close to the river. Easy to go for a quick swim while sitting on the balcony. Great views from the balcony eating our breakfast in the morning.

Aside from the comfortable hammock, the outdoor furniture was a bit uncomfortable and there were no cushions available. One of the fans was a bit loud while running so we ended up just using one of them.

We thought nothing beats the river view, and being the least hostel on the beach it's the only one that has it. The walk is a bit longer but it's worth it. The room was more comfortable than expected and we even had semi hot water when we asked. Fully equipped kitchen

The water flow in the shower was very weak

I loved the 3 bed dorm, which was clean and had towels free of charge. Watched the sunset from right outside the hostel and went for a walk to the further beach which was so magical. What a beautiful location. I left early to get to tyrona work and kindly the host made me breakfast early. What a fab hostel and beautiful dreamy location. I want to go back, one night was not enough.

The place was great and new, directly on the beach. The rooms have few beds inside and are spacious. The staff was very kind and careful, especially Nei that helped me with any requests. She was supernice. Good vibes and nice view

There is no hot water at the property. Our stay was disrupted by a storm that caused a loss of electricity and water. While the village recovered quickly, the property took nearly a full day

Comfortable bed. Staff was really friendly when around

Nobody at the reception at my arrival. No soap at the bathroom. Literally got stuck in the bathroom because there was no doorknob. Really awful smell in the evening.

Nous souhaitons nous reposer à la plage après 4 jours de trek dans la forêt. L hôtel sur le site paraissait être chill avec terrasse et hamac. À notre arrivée, accueil nonchalant, la personne ne trouvait pas notre réservation. Elle nous a tout de même conduit à une chambre, vu sur la jungle comme prévu mais aussi sur le linge de l hôtel et de grand containers en plastique certes utiles je pense pour la récupération de l eau mais pas vraiment esthétique vu qu ils étaient directement sur notre terrasse. Aucun discours d accueil, on a dû poser nous même les questions sur le fonctionnement de l hôtel. Chambre correcte sauf que le rideau tombait car mal fixé, pas de rideau de douche comme sur les photos et notre hamac sur notre terrasse a été occupé par la personne qui nous a reçu donc bye bye la pause détente. Sinon les environnements sont sympa, petits resto et bars qui nous ont permis de passer un bon séjour malgré la déception de l hôtel. On trouve beaucoup d autres hébergements sur cette plage, au même prix et beaucoup plus sympathiques

Amazing spot right in front of the beach and next to the lagoon! Somehow both modern and rustic, private balcony with hammocks, great internet. Only complaint would be the curtain rods which fell off any time you touched them. We had a wonderful stay!

Here you can see both the sunrise over the ocean and the sunset over the river, just steps away. Beautifully designed, comfy beds, nice bathroom, and the staff are super friendly. Also they have 2 adorable kittens that love to cuddle and play! You can relax in the lounge chairs and hammocks or rent a surf board or kayak practically next door.

The nearby restaurants don't open for breakfast until 9am so if you plan to get up early for the sunrise, bring snacks.

The location was stunning, the room was airy spacious and spotlessly clean. The balcony had a direct sea view and two hammocks which were shaded from the sun.

The only things to be aware of are there are no mosquito nets over the beds and that the walls are quite thin. However, we booked this place specifically to be somewhere that felt authentic, rather than a large resort style place… so we expected this and it was no problem for us.

Simple but thoughtfully done with natural materials (Stone and wood). Gorgeous seafront view with excellent key lock system. We were on the ground floor and right on the beach but felt totally safe. Good fan and more than enough to keep very cool (we even turned it down). Helpful staff who organised a taxi for onward transport. Great location right by the river mouth (swimming bit). Quiet chilled out vibe and not a party place which we liked.

Location at the end of the beach which is wonderful but not the most accessible (suitcase not ideal but fine, you just have to carry it for 5/10 mins). Doesn’t sound far but feels far. It’s worth it though!

The location was PERFECT! This hotel was right next to the mouth of the river and at the end of a long section of hotels which made it feel a bit more private. The beach was gorgeous and there were plenty of restaurants along the strip to eat at. The deck with hammocks was so nice to be able to get out of the sun but still enjoy the beauty of the beach.

The lighting was a bit harsh. Nothing else to complain about!

The location and the view are great. In addition it is quiet; you only hear the sea.

The so-called deluxe room was too expensive for what it was: a basic room with a bed. At times there was no water.

We came for a few days and stayed for a week. The room is large and beautiful with hardwood panels, and a classy bathroom. Our views from the balcony of the beach and the river were stunning! We felt so relaxed and peaceful. We will definitely return! Thanks everyone for your excellent service!

So close to sea and calm.

After rain we couldnt use the wifi and electricity almost 1 day. Internet is really weak. Also mobile data is not good over there. Beach is better than hotel.

The hostel has only been open for two weeks so the rooms and facilities are all freshly built and beautifully finished. It is located at a more peaceful end of the strip of restaurants and bars which I really liked, and we loved being able to step out of our room straight onto the beach!! Such a beautiful little hostel, wish we could see it once it’s fully finished, it’s gonna be extra special ☺️ Super lovely owners and chill vibes. Thanks for having us!!

We liked pretty much everything, and whatever we felt important to suggest as minor feedback to a new build (such as the sensor light out the front coming on at night and being quite bright in our room) we shared with the owners, and they advised they were getting fixed this week anyway. The kitchen hadn’t been finished yet, so if you need one best check if it is finished before booking. There are plenty of restaurants seconds away though, and coffee is available :)
