Summer House Mirissa

Un lugar simple con todo lo necesario. Buena relación precio calidad.

El wifi no funciona bien.

Nice room, great value for money. Friendly family. Just 10 minutes walk from the beach and central location.

Because it is in a backside alley there were some barking dogs. But if you don't mind dogs it's ok.

It was very nice and comfortable.

All ok and its value for money.

It was great

Confortable and super nice hosts

With the price you pay, it’s good! Bit inside! Owner, the couple and their parents are the cutest!!! The lady tries to do her best if you ask!

Fan plug had issues, mosquito net has holes, toiled seat scratched me, gets really hot since no ceiling fan but a pedestal fan. Breakfast was just two slice of bread with jam and coffee. But it all comes at cheap price so it consolidate and the attitude of the owners is so lively, even though she doesn’t understand English well, she tried her best to help!

Nothing

Cheated to me

Located in a side street, just a few minutes walk from the main street. Quiet and comfortable, everything you need for a short stay in Mirissa. The host and family was really friendly, would come again!

The couple was so accommodating, always smiles and guides.

Most of the pick me tuktuk can’t find the place it’s showing the accurate location so I needed to walk through the highway and back

Açıkçası sadece konuma yakın olması ve ucuz olması uygundu.

Açıkçası temizlik çok kötüydü. El yıkayacak yerin çeşmesi bozuktu. Duş kırıktı elinizle almanız gerekiyordu. Çoklu priz yoktu. Ve evin içi kokuyordu

Perfect , welcoming hosts , brilliant value for money , everything you want from an inexpensive home stay. I would recommend it anybody who wants a relaxed and safe home stay in Mirissa . Lovely family

Nothing to dislike , all good for the price point

We enjoyed our stay at the Summer House Mirissa. We were welcomed with a drink and our hosts were super friendly. The room was clean and looked like on the pictures. We felt extremly safe and comfortable in our room and the neighbourhood. We got a 20% discount in a restaurant the host works at. And we can highly recommend it. We did our laundry at the Summer House and everything came back nice and clean. We ended up staying 2 nights longer as planned because enjoyed our stay (:

静かな場所、清潔な部屋でくつろげました。

Place without much noise the host girl is kind although she don't understand English some how managing

Scrambled old floors , electric lights and broken lock bathrooms with insects inside rooms r high with humidity and fans can't neutralize the humidity inside the room very old house where the car r Tuk Tuk can't even take a u turn after they drop u

Great place to stay in Mirissa! 100%recommended!

The family was super friendly and helpful. They even prepared a small breakfast, which is incredible for this price. The room was simple and had a fan.

Bring your own toilet paper.

For the price it’s fine, the place is clean but there are many ants in the room and also in the bed.

It is not so far from the main street but it is a rather dark alley at night and there are many dogs that throw themselves at you, in addition that every time I wanted to go back in tuk tuk or motorbike in google gives another location and I got lost many times (the owner went to look for me twice) the man is very nice and responds to messages, but the woman is another story, I have asked them for poison to kill a cockroach that I found in the room and also be able to eliminate a little ants but the reaction of the Woman was super rude even saying that it was my fault and that I had to leave the place. In addition to the communication problems due to the language. There are also two older adults who sleep and take care of the property but after 6 or 7 in the afternoon they close the door with a lock and you have to knock on the door, which seems a little restrictive to me since if you go out at night and come back in the early morning you have no way to enter the house.

Peaceful, close to both beaches like Mirissa beach and secret beach , bus stop just near , but not too close to the main road , so no smell no noice , very friendly and helping hosts

Nice place, the owner is very friendly.

Owner have communication with me always and come to pick me up middle of the night with motobike.

2 young married couple owner of this property but they not living here. They told me their parents living here. So they are old people and not care very well about cleaning because i took some pictures you can see. Also not mosquito net on the bed. I stayed only 1 night

Good price in a quiet area close to the beach

The room was very hot, I couldn't sleep and left after two days, even though I booked three days. The cold didn't let us sleep. The staff is friendly...

Room and Bathroom is clean . Guest is good

The table fan is a big mistake, in a place like mirissa very hot . Only problem is this . And in the way at night to room lot of dogs are there it scared me to and fro . I am afraid of dogs if you are fine with this then no problem. Again table fan is not a good option , in that location.

Nearest Location from the Mirissa beach

1. Wall fan required maintenance 2. Cloth hanger need to be properly fixed

Everything was fine. Nice big comfortable bed with mosquito net, fan , big bathroom with plenty of water.Clean and friendly Quiet and convenient location

The owner is very friendly and helpful

The facilities are minimal. I didn’t even have a blanket.

Classical Sri Lanka'n guest house style, Couple living entrance floor, guest staying upstairs.

Nightmare! I stayed here 8 nights, my big mistake I payed all advance. I extended on booking.com after make 3 nights but they didnt accept online for no pay more commission to booking.com but Its not my business, its something between booking.com and them. Sleeping, impossible. bed creaks at the slightest movement in bed Shower, not possible, bcs most of the water leaks out of the broken hose before it reaches you. There are two ways to get here from the main road. 1 road 6 corner, other 9 corners. I hope your mobile battery no finish after darker, bcs you may probably step on dogs lying on the road. The thing that saddens me the most is, after check-in I want soap and toilet paper, she gave me used soap (not hygienic), 1 day after they took toilet paper back. They said they would fix the bad creaks and the water problem in the shower, but they didnt. They said they would do it every day but they didn't. They made fun of me. About breakfast, they didnt offer me:) Yes you can say "why you didnt want" hey! There is no another guest at place, how I can disturb a housewife while she is doing housework. About room, all kind of bug. When I made the payment on the first day, they said they would give me the change the next day, but I was only able to get it on the day of check-out, despite asking several times. 8 nights, same towel, same sheet. Internet doesnt work good my staying period, maybe they fixed after me.

Lovely! Breakfast was very nice and different. The family are so lovely and attentive:)

Loved the location up a quiet lane way. Included breakfast was a bonus.

Impossible to find using google maps

Seperate room

I had to ask for breakfast every day.

Perfect location and lovely hosts. The summer house is just 5min walking away from all the main things in Mirissa. However, it is quiet and you feel like you're sleeping in the forest.

Good price

No AC, just ventilator really hot inside, no place to hang your clothes, lots of ants in the room, bad water pressure. Location not far away from the city centre but the road is abandoned and lots of dogs. One evening I can't go to shop because of dogs

The WiFi wasn’t working. The owner said she is going to fix it but she never did. If you want to use the kitchen, you need to pay. It’s really hard to find, they have the wrong location in the Google maps. So I had to call her for the directions. There are no mosquito nets on the windows but there is one for your bed.

Location

Not sure how this place can have such high review average rate because it was my worst experience in Sri Lanka. I did not feel well there. Issues with internet, breakfast was bad joke, small bathroom

I spent four nights at their lovely home. The couple was very kind and hospitable. Great location, fast WiFi, and nice breakfast. At this price, it's a bargain. I totally recommend it!

Everything was just perfect, the location might be a little far for some people as it is almost 1 Km away from the beach, but for me it was okay to wall… the room was really clean, the bathroom as well, the bed is very large and comfortable. the host family are extremely friendly and nice. It was very quiet and peaceful. There was a kitchen in front of the room and it was really clean and nice. Best price you would have if you are planning to stay for a while. I recommend it. Maybe one problem is that there are only two rooms in the place so it’s not easy to book it, especially if you are a big group

Great price! Good location close enough to the city, difficult to find but the host was nice to pick us up in the rain.

The facilities including the bed were not the best.

Room size and bathroom

Not easy to reach for first time.

Nice hosts, free breakfast, clean

It gets really hot during the day

The location was really nice, out of the noise only 10 minutes walk by Mirissa beach. The family was very lovely and helpful and they prepared really nice breakfast every day. The area closeby is nice and you can hear squirrels, birds and peacocks around the neighbourhood.

The wifi should be repaired because it didn't work.

Quiet place Happy host Laundry

Its only bed inside room No cover no towel

A glimpse of rural lifestyle of Sri Lanka.

The room was nice and comfortable. The house is very close to main beach of Mirissa, so the area it’s plenty of restaurant, shops and food markets.

I was planning to rent a scooter for the last day, they told me that i could have rented the one they had, cheaper than an agency. So i woke up at 5am because i wanted to go far to see the sunrise and other beaches, but i could’t rent the scooter because the wanted to keep my passport for the whole day. Usually renting places take photos of the documents, they don’t keep documents. This was a little bit strange, and also for this reason i couldn’t go anymore to that place.

nice breakfast and friendly staff

no tp . no wifi in the morning. no hot water. and they have their own exchange rate , 10% more than google

Close to the beach, shops and restaurants. The family is really welcoming and friendly, they even let me check in earlier which was extremely convenient. The neighbourhood is also great and safe;)

A bit late breakfast and really weak water stream in the shower.

It is cheap, but standard is disappointing. I would not stay there again. There is a mosquito net over the bed, but it is not very effective. Friendly host. Temperature in the room is fine in the evening with windows open. Very simple breakfast (for example, one egg, plus something else), but sometimes they serve it really late. I had to ask to have it at 8 30. Kitchen facilities available for an extra charge of 500 rupees. Room is quite big, but the bed occupied most of it, so not much space for anything else. Quite close to bus stop and supermarket and other shops.

Pillows smell absolutely awful, they probably never washed them. The host have to wash pillows, not only covers. No nets in the windows, so plenty of mosqito in the room. You cannot close the windows, as it will get very hot inside. Almost no furniture in the room, you have to keep almost all your stuff on the floor. No place in the room to dry your towel or clothes. A really old plastic electric kettle in common area that I did not use - I asked the host for boiling water. No refrigerator for guests. Sweeping in the backyard starts at 6 am, so it can wake you up, as it woke me up (windows open). There is no info on the gate with the name of the place - that is fairly strange. Get in touch with them before you arrive - that might help find the place.

Nice quiet place, nor far away from many Restaurants and Supermarkets. Great breakfast, and so friendly and kindful couple and their Patents. Thank you for all

For this price, really nothing to complain.

Very friendly host and the breakfast was also very good.

Absolutely everything. Everything is perfect, and for the price, that’s the best quality price you can get!! The room is perfect, spacious and perfectly clean! The bathroom is perfect as well. The breakfast is amazing, they change it everyday for you to discover everything. The owner is just so lovely. They also offer you a welcome juice, delicious! Just thank you, I can only recommend this place!!

Nothing?

The young couple and the morher was super Nice and very friendly and very helpfull and the foods was also great, I will go back again for sure and I can just recomment it. Thanks for all🙏

Nothing everything was great.

Homestay but family was never intrusive. Dad has a contagious laugh. Breakfast was phenomenal and different each day.

Was a bit farther than the map showed but it was nice to be in the local neighborhood.

Good location, good price and à lovely family

no AC

Probably the best homestay I've ever been to. The owners are very friendly, price was extremely good and the room was great. Also there was a basic kitchen and breakfast was included. Overall amazing place

Better to tell your breakfast preferences beforehand to avoid getting something you might have an allergy against, but then people will be very friendly and understanding

Amazing staff, and the quality of all the equipment was amazing for the price

Mosquitos in the kitchen but can’t really do anything about it, it’s nature
