SleepOver Orpen Gate

We wanted a clean and comfortable stay near Orpen Gate after leaving Kruger and we got it. Modern facilities, nice staff, good dinner. I recommend the place to everyone who looks for a sleep over near Kruger NP.

Lage zum Kruger sehr gut.

Zimmer sind Container, haben alles was man braucht. Sehr hellhörig. Pool war außer Betrieb. Sehr einfache Ausstattung.

It’s closer to the Orpen Gate

Almost everything- the price is too high for fabricated rooms that are not spacious. The cooks can do better in terms of cleanliness. The management needs to get the cooks proper cooking uniform and ensure that food handlers are clean. That should be a basic requirement.

El personal es encantador. Nos alojamos una noche y fue ideal. Muy cerca de Orpen Gate. El desayuno y la cena estaban bastante bien. La habitación era cómoda y muy limpia. El lugar muy seguro.

La atención por algún miembro del personal. Nuestro inglés no es del todo bueno y parecía molestarle hasta que vio a mi marido, entonces se volvió muy servicial.

Está muy bien la ubicación en un lugar muy tranquilo y a escasos 10 minutos en coche de la entrada al parque Kruger de Orpen Gate. El precio es adecuado, más bajo que otros lugares cercanos al parque Kruger. El personal muy atento. Se trata de un hotel simpático, hecho a base de módulos prefabricados, con máximo 2 habitaciones por módulo, pero que tiene todo lo importante.

El módulo prefabricado vibra con cada pisada o cierre de puerta. En mi caso no fue un problema, porque teníamos las 2 habitaciones del módulo, pero de no ser así podría ser incómodo.

From the moment we checked in, the manager was very attentive to our needs and questions and could not been more helpful. Unfortunately, the road back to Johannesburg had been damaged recently by rain so the new route south needed to be explained by the manager as it had some issues. We appreciated the advice and suggestions for this route, so when we actually did go south, we found it to be quite comfortable with the knowledge we had been given. Our room was bright, clean and very quiet, a perfect stopping off place after leaving Kruger before making our way back to Johannesburg.

Nous déconseillons la formule demi-pension car le dîner ne comprend qu'un seul plat ( sans entrée, dessert et boisson). Ce qui peut revenir plus cher que de choisir le dîner sur place. De plus, la qualité du repas est très moyenne.

Lo mejor del lugar es la ubicación, ya que está a 5 minutos de la puerta orpen del Kruger. Las camas son cómodas y la ducha tiene presión. El personal de recepción y cocina es muy servicial y agradable.

La relación calidad precio no me parece muy adecuada. Ya que los materiales del contenedor donde están preparadas las habitaciones son de calidad mediocre. Además, no tienes siquiera una cocina para cocinarte y si que hay restaurante pero el menú es muy limitado. Las habitaciones están hechas en contenedores que no aíslan bien el ruido.

The set up quick and easy.

The seating area at the bar/restaurant was a bit too separated for socialising. The food was really simple. As a vegetarian i only got a toast bred with one tomato and one cheese slide in there. And the breakfast in the morning is cold chips with a cold beacon sandwich. As a vegetarian i asked multiple times for a bacon free wrap and to my surprise and conformation its vegetarian it was full of bacon so no breakfast. Otherwise it was a good stay and close to the gate.

I moduli abitativi sono riscaldati e rinfrescati con condizionatori montati sulle pareti esterne della struttura. Ciò rende il rumore delle unità esterne fastidioso quando si è in camera . Per la colazione abbiamo aspettato un po' troppo

Bisschen hellhörig

Pseudo campeggio in container molto bene organizzati e colorati. Stanze essenziali ma calde e complete di tutto. A pochissimi minuti dall'ingresso del Kruger.

Non essendoci assolutamente nulla attorno, abbiamo cenato (due volte) e pranzato sempre nel ristorante della struttura che ha un menù piuttosto scarno.

Ottima posizione, riscaldamento, camera bella e confortevole, bagno spazioso.

La lunga attesa per la cena

Ubicación cerca de la orpen gate del Kruger. Hay opciones de comida rápida para cenar, nos la llevaron a la habitación. Se puede pedir el desayuno para llevar para madrugar y entrar al kruger. Zona de piscina y hamacas.

Se escucha todo lo del bungalow de al lado y se mueve la estancia y retumba al cerrar el bungalow de al lado. El agua de la ducha sale fría y muy caliente intermitentemente. La hora en la que nos acercaron el desayuno take away, ya estábamos dormidos. La carretera para llegar al alojamiento tiene muchos baches pero es transitable.

Personal muy amable. Nos prepararon el desayuno para llevar por qué lo teníamos preparado y nos íbamos muy pronto por la mañana

Restaurant très sommaire, style fast-food.

Simple et efficace à deux pas du parc Kruger propose une formule dîner plus petit déjeuner très intéressante. Les logements sont propres et dans le style Algeco.

Ambiance un peu froide du personnel. Peut-être un mauvais jour ..

Facile à trouver. La personne a pris le temps de nous accompagner à notre chambre.

Restaurant, déjeuner à emporter pour les safaris, proche ++ de la porte du Kruger.

Rien à part que c’est davantage un arrêt pour 1-2 nuits car rien pour cuisiner.

Funcional y cerca de la puerta de entrada. Básico, pero cuenta con todo lo necesario para pasar la noche!

I found the manager to be quite rude this time around.

Clean comfy beds, TV, WiFi, kettle, fridge, coffee, tea, sugar, soap, air-conditioning/heater, shop on the premises.

The water kept going cold and warm.

Although its a small room. It didn't feel small, even when all my kids eneded up in our room. We had 2 rooms but they preferred being in our room. Also its very close the Orpen gate and the even closer to the South Africa Wildlife collage.

The water wasnt hot enough for me in the shower.

Rien, peut être ranger un peu la zone accueil, cartons, pc + classeur de gestion n’ont rien à faire dans l’espace d’accueil et de restauration…

AMAZING staff, we forgot some of our expensive and very small equipment in our room and left. Before we realised it, we were contacted by Wynand to tell us that they had found it and were keeping it for us! Also got an email with very detailed alternative road directions to follow as the main road had been washed away with heavy rains Like the sleepover concept, clean & modern simple room with en suite bathroom, and basic restaurant on the premises. All that a traveller needs for a safe and peaceful sleep

This is an excellent option if you want to be close to Orpen gate and not spend a fortune. It was clean and comfortable, you felt like you were close to the bush but still had all the comforts you could want. Aircon worked nicely, hot water was great, room was cozy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We eat dinner onsite and the food was good, the menu is basic but it’s everything you need for a short stay. The pool looked clean although we didn’t use it. They also have several nice braai areas and a fire pit. You can purchase a braai pack and wood onsite. Breakfast was included with our booking but we were leaving very early, so they offered to pack it up and deliver it the night before to our room! Very helpful and considerate! There was also a small fridge in the room where we could keep it overnight. I would highly recommend this as an option for a quick one night stay or for several nights as a base going in and out of Kruger as it is literally five minutes from the first Orpen gate.

The basin in our room was cracked, but nothing detrimental to our stay.

Der Gastgeber hat uns nicht gefallen. Er war nicht sehr gesprächig und am Morgen sehr übellaunig. Abendessen und Frühstück war mäßig gut.

Visited by surrounding villagers makes it toooo busy

Zweckmäßige Unterkunft kurz vor dem Orpen Gate. Ideal um morgens schnell dort zu sein. Zimmer im Container mit Terrasse, Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher. Dusche war herrlich!

Een mooie schone unit met alles wat je nodig hebt. Je kunt er ook eten in het restaurantje, wat fijn is want het ligt ver van het centrum. Wel heel gunstig als je het Krügerpark wilt bezoeken.

Un seul souci : les branches de l’arbre à côté de notre logement frottaient sur le toit avec le vent et le bruit nous a réveillé le matin

Small room and very basic

The best part is obviously the location. If you want to stay right outside the Orpen Gate, this is probably your best opportunity.

In short: -Some of the frontdesk staff has been the rudest we experienced during our entire vacation. -The accomodation/containers have a very poignant and straightup awful smell to them -Eventhough this place helped us with organizing a driver for the national park, they were extremely opaque and unprofessional throughout the entire process. Originally, we were very happy to go for this "budget alternative", but having stayed here, I now regret our choices. I wish I had spend a little more money elsewhere. If you are visiting Kruger Nationalpark, it's really worth doing it properly.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. There isn’t much to do on the property itself but there is so much to do nearby. The Kruger National Park gate is just a short drive away

Es al lado de la puerta Orpen del Kruger, y las habitaciones muy cómodas y amplias.

La piscina del lugar dista mucho de la foto, es pequeña y al menos cuando fuimos se veía tan sucia que no nos quisimos meter. El wifi no funcionaba bien, nos dejaron en la última habitación del sector siendo que habían otras vacías más adelante que les llegaba bien internet. El restaurante tiene casi nulas opciones vegetarianas.

Great location close to Orpen gate. Rooms were really comfortable, and everything felt safe. Good value option. Friendly staff. Would stop by again in future.

WiFi wasn't reliable enough for a work trip so had to rely on my mobile hotspot. Probably not the best option if you're a really sensitive sleeper as the container-style structures carry sound/vibrations.

The pre-packaged take away breakfast was better than I was expecting and was a great start to our early day in Kruger.

Prince le réceptionniste est vraiment très professionnel, sympathique et d'une très grande aide. La localisation est parfaite pour se rendre ensuite à l'intérieur du kruger via Orpen Gate. On est vraiment juste à côté pour partir le matin c'est parfait. Les chambres sont confortables, il y a tout ce qu'il faut et dont l'on peut avoir besoin. L'endroit propose une petite supérette pour acheter à boire ou des snacks et un service de restauration est présent jusqu'à 21h qui est vraiment bon. Tout ce dont vous avez besoin.

Room too small. Water cold. Kids sleeping mattress are squeezes under the beds and we had to remove chest of drawers. Tiny bathroom not suitable for family. Swimming pool too small.

There is no extra cutlery, or plates, ( people do stay over to braai ) Bigger kids menu and maybe some ice cream or shakes.

Понравилась закрытая защищенная территория, с круглосуточной охраной. Тишина вокруг. Наличие маленького кафе и магазина.

Ужасно грязный номер. Носки становились черными просто за 5 шагов. Комнате не помешал бы ремонт. Ощущение сырости. Завтрак начинается только с 7. Довольно странно, учитывая, что жилье бронируют те, кто едут в крюгер парк, а едут туда к 6 утра. Поэтому остались без завтрака. Огромное количество насекомых, от которых нет никакой даже сетки на террасе, где кормят.
