My private room was a really high standard, comfortable bed, spacious, and a desk with really good WiFi so I could also get some work done. The staff were all excellent, Juliana and Daniel were particularly helpful. Location is great in Poblando. I liked it some much I extended an extra 4 nights!

Première fois dans une auberge de jeunesse. Tout y était très propre, le personnel, serviable et accueillant. Un bonne auberge très sociale où vous y faites beaucoup de rencontres. J’y reviendrai certainement !

Dommage, qu’il n’y ait pas de petits déjeuners et des activités organisées dans l’établissement.

Excellent vibes. Clean rooms. Good communal spaces and kitchen. Staff were fantastic and let us change to an air conditioned room when it was very hot (at no extra cost)! We struggled to find reasonably priced accommodation in Medellin, but this hostel was fantastic and I will definitely be recommending it to others!

For solo travelers seeking social vibes without feeling like you have to go the club (though plenty of people also do that), this is the spot for you. I've stayed at many hostels all over the world, and this was among the best for socializing. I spent most of my evenings sitting around the big outdoor table drinking cheap beer and chatting with people from around the world. This is why I travel, and Black Sheep does it well! Location is also great, about as safe as you can be in Medellin, with metro, groceries, ATMs, and restaurants all within a short walk.

Maybe it's just me, but prices for private rooms at hostels have gotten really high. Loved my stay and the room was good, but $60U.S./night in a hostel is far beyond what I expected to pay, even for a private room.

The hostel has pleasant common areas with plenty of tables to relax, eat or work. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Guests can pay with Revolut to avoid the additional card surcharge.

The majority of travellers here are British. I’m not sure whether the hostel is advertised on a popular UK website, but it was the first place during my trip through Colombia where one nationality was so heavily represented. At times, this felt a little overwhelming, as I generally prefer a more diverse mix of travellers. There are also relatively few bathrooms for the size of the hostel. That said, the facilities were clean and well maintained, and I never experienced any queues during my stay.

Super chambre familiale, spacieuse et propre. La cuisine est un vrai plus. Elle est bien équipée et également très régulièrement nettoyée. Les espaces communs sont chaleureux et le personnel aidant pour toute question. Nous recommandons vivement. Nous enfants ont aussi beaucoup aimé.

Everything was very clean, with kind staff and really comfy private bedrooms. The cleaning service was available when requested by the guests. The drinks were at a reasonable price. The location was good. There was free coffee during the day. There were really nice spots to work if you are a nomad or remote worker/student. The internet connection is stable and reliable. Overall, it is a very nice place to stay.

In our private bedroom on the 3rd floor, there was no AC. The bad thing is that the sun’s direction was towards our side wall. Medellín tends to have rainy and sort of fresh weather seasons, but we went on sunny and hot weather days (during the day), so during the day we felt the heat so badly. Minor disadvantages: there were not enough wall sockets close to the beds and no shelves to put the clothes on.

The place is excellent: very cozy, not too big, and perfect for meeting people but also for chilling. That really feels like the main vibe of the hostel. Another major strength is the staff, especially the receptionists. I met all of them and chatted with everyone — they were absolutely helpful, pleasant, funny, and buena gente (as they say in Colombia). The place is clean and overall I highly recommend it, especially if you are traveling alone.

The level of the bedrooms was not adequate compared to the standard most hostels have nowadays, especially the beds. Mine had very old sheets and the beds looked generally old, not very sturdy, and quite basic. In my room it was difficult to get good ventilation, even with the windows open 24/7, and this is something I also heard from other hostel mates.

A wonderful hostel in every way. Clean, modern and well laid out with several different common areas to chill including a roof terrace. Very friendly vibe and a big table ensured everyone was included. Staff was so helpful as well.

This was my second stay at this hostel—my first was almost 9 years ago! It’s a super social place without being a full on party place and the location is great too. The room and bed is really comfortable, and the whole place is spotless. The staff are always friendly and helpful, just like last time. Plus, the beers are cheap, which is always a bonus!

Well located in Poblado, a smart end of town. The metro is in easy walking distance as are a couple of nice little restaurants and supermarkets close by..The South Bus Station is a short taxi ride away. The neighbourhood is safe and leafy green. The staff are friendly and helpful with advice on where to go and what to do. There are different common areas to meet fellow travelers or to sit quietly and relax. There's a good kitchen if you want to cook. I ended up staying here much longer than planned. It's great.

Staff were super lovely, kitchen was decent (although some of the hob rings didn’t work very well!), location felt very safe and there were lots of different areas to chill out in. Beds were comfy and room I was in (6 bed dorm) was a decent size with lots of lockers and a nice bathroom. Hostel was very social but felt like there were areas I could hide away in if I felt like I didn’t want to socialise.

A very social hostel with a nice kitchen, located in a safe area not too far from supermarkets and restaurants. Receptionists were awesome and very friendly!! Easily one of the best hostels I stayed at during my 9 week trip through Colombia :)

The hostel is located 10 min walk to restaurants and supermarkets and 15 walk from the metro station. As a solo traveler in my 40s I really appreciate the room in 3rd floor, as I could go down to socialize when I wish. The common kitchen is well equipped and clean. The hostel offered regular different tours. I recommend the Guatape and walking tour. The hostel is a bit of a party hostel in the sense that people will be chatting and drinking in the front garden and in the terrace upstairs but is not in your face and everyone is out by 11. I end up extending my staying by 3 extra days.

The room is very basic with a desk, chair and armchair. It does not have a closet or hangers. The only light is very dark, and there is not a full mirror. I had to use the shared bathrooms to apply a bit of makeup as it was too dark to see in the evening.

Our room in Black Sheep was so nice (and I don’t believe the photos on Booking.com do it justice). The facilities were perfect and the staff were super lovely. A great stay.

We had a really good time at the Black Sheep Hostel. The neighborhood is quite and safe and you can easily walk to the center of El Poblado and the metro, the rooms are clean and quite. The staff is super friendly, they answer all your questions and give you nice recommendations. We could even store our luggage for five days while we flew to the pacific coast. So from our experience, we can say it’s a 10/10

It was hard to ventilate the room.

Really chilled hostel in a quiet part of El Poblado. Private room was comfortable and everything worked well. Social areas were social and there are daily tours but no night events organised by the hostel. The hostel is a 5 minute uber from the party area and a 10 minute walk to the metro station. I was able to get a really a good night's sleep but the walls are a bit thin if you have noisy neighbours in the private rooms.

Great hostel in poblado, one of our favourites in Colombia. Staff are really helpful, good location and rooms, facilities and the kitchen are kept very clean and are much better than shown in the pictures. Good social hostel also. They also sell beers for£1 which is nice.
