Sorana Island Villas

The staff gave impeccable service. The grounds were very clean and open. The breakfast was delicious! My friends and I highly recommend this resort. We are soooooo going back. The BEST resort in Bantayan :-)

All these points below are suggestions what would make Sorana the perfect resort: They should install ceiling fans in the main area where the guests have their meals. The fans on the ground just doesn't have enough coverage. The check in area where guests first arrive should have the air conditioning cooler. The A/C was not powerful enough to cool the room and after a hot journey in the ferry, it would have been nice to be in a room where it was cool. They can generate more business by having a proper bar and restaurant. I understand they will eventually expand to having one. If you are ever have plans to expand, please build your rooms a little bit larger. We were 2 people in the room and we hardly had room for our luggage and items. No hangers and no where to hang our clothes.

I would’ve rated my stay 10/10 if it wasn’t for the washroom in Room 2 that smelled like sewage. I raised it to the staff but I guess they couldn’t do anything about it too.

I love that there are fewer than 10 rooms for the whole property which meant it was a more personalized experience for us.

They don’t have a fully functional restaurant so no lunches or dinners were served. Wish they had those so we didn’t have to go somewhere else or order in for food.

The property was very clean from outside our villas to the inside of the villas. Lawns and grounds maintenance is exceptional. The pick up and drop off service was notable as well. Provided us fresh towels on our second day which was great. The beach is nice and feels exclusive. There was first aid available and the lifeguard was kind enough to do it for me although the property should update their first aid as I saw their cutting scissors looked rusted.

Our room’s TV wasn’t connecting to the wifi so we couldn’t use the TV during our stay. The room gets hot at night in our room. The most off putting part of all was how we were treated at the end of our stay. We were treated like thieves for one missing towel. The person from the reception booth agreed to opening up our bags right after we have packed them in the van. I couldn’t believe they would embarrass their guests like that. Of course they couldn’t find the towels in any of our bags. You can tell that the property is still new as there are systems that is not in place yet. They need to improve on their management and reception.

Beautiful place in terms of esthetics and arquitecture; comfortable rooms

No food/ snack options whatsoever; Poor a la carte breakfast (pankakes and eggs every day); no fruit whatsoever and artificial juice - when the village next door was plentiful in markets with all types of of ripe fruit; Maybe we were unlucky and got some wind but we got lots of algae and a polluted beach with plastics in a remote Island

The property was unbelievably clean - the gardens were cleaner than the inside of my house! Care had been taken with every aspect of the hotel. The food (breakfast) and evening dinner were very well cooked, lechon Kare Kare a highlight. Staff seemed well looked after, they were having a Christmas dinner cooked for them when we were there, which is always good to see. This was reflected in the amiable dedication they all put into their work. The gardens were beautifully kept. Their gardener worked from morning till dusk, and took a real pride in her work - she was possibly the best employee I saw anywhere all year. And her efforts are creating the loveliest gardens we saw in the Philippines... Overall, friendly, cared for staff, attention to detail and a serene atmosphere.

Aesthetically the best looking hotel in Bantayan. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. Really close to the port and they provide shuttle service. Rooms and facilities are very well maintained.

Staff and service were exceptional. The property is clean and peaceful. We appreciated the free shuttle service to and from Santa Fe port and enjoyed the breakfast.

I love how clean, spacious and relaxing the place is. Very private, and yet accessible. The staff were very accommodating and made sure our stay was very comfortable.

Nothing but if there was something, maybe there was no swimming pool. Otherwise the beach is nice anyway.

We loved how welcoming all the staff were. The place was immaculate and exceptionally clean. It felt very exclusive. We love the beachfront, too. It was a great spot for watching the sunrise. It was a joyous experience to stay there. We wish we could stay longer.

There was no restaurant. If there was food served inside inside the premises, it would have been the perfect place to stay. The karaoke next door was up until 1am.

The Service was personal and heartfelt, The property was very private and the beach front beautiful and well maintained. They have two cool ATV’s for rent.

They didn’t have an on resort restaurant but they did have a bar. However they did purchase for us food from nearby restaurants and re plated the meal in proper plates and settings anywhere you wanted on the property, so that was kinda cool.

Breakfast was great! Would have liked lunch or dinner options at resort but a lot of local food nearby. Moped/motorbike rentals were brought to site upon request for a good price. Also trikes called if you’re not comfortable with driving motorbikes.

There’s no pool if that’s your thing but we really didn’t miss it

Love the villas! We had a very relaxing and healing stay at Sorana. All the staff were friendly and well trained. We can’t wait to go back and bring our family here. Must try is the Labtingaw (dried fish) and Chorizo from the breakfast set! Make sure to catch the lovely sunrise from the resort.

Late at night, we experienced a significant water issue in the bathroom, where water was continuously flowing and flooding the floor. It took nearly two hours to resolve, during which we were temporarily moved to a room that was not properly cleaned (really dirty with used bedding). The room was clearly not prepared. The manager we spoke with over the phone seemed like they didn't care much about the situation. We were assured multiple times that we would receive a 20% discount on our entire stay, but during check-out-when we were in a hurry-they only applied the discount to one night. They clearly took advantage of the situation. On top of that, the entire staff doesn't greet guests. Additionally, breakfast must be ordered in advance. While this process worked on the first day, on the second day, no one asked for our order, and we had to remind them and place it ourselves. The staff clearly lacks initiative and proper training.

This place set my standard when it comes to booking a villa/resort. Absolutely incredible and exceptional. Room 6, is definitely the best room.

A bit pricey but worth it.

The property was clean, well-maintained, and with stunning beach view. The staff warm hospitality, helpful, and accommodating! Excellent customer service both personally and online service. (Thank you Miss Grace & Sir Jeryl). The beach was pristine with calm waters perfect for swimming. We had a fantastic stay.

When you step foot on this property you feel like you are in a paradise retreat! The grounds are stunning! I didn‘t expect much from Bantayan Island but it turned out to be my favorite island in Philippines!and I am happy that I chose to stay with Sorana. I don‘t really understand the bad reviews here…the rooms are amazing/one of the best we stayed in philippines and very clean and aesthetic. The whole resort is so beautiful and aesthetic!and you always see the stuff to take care about the grounds. But the Stuff is the one who makes this hotel so amazing. They are doing their best to fulfill all guest wishes with a smile on their face and always trying to find solutions to everything. We had to catch ferry at 5 AM and they offer us complimentary ride to the port at 3:45 and even prepared sandwiches for the road.

The best beaches on the island are Kota beach and Sandira beach, the hotel beach is nice but it is closed to the port so it will never be as clean as those other two beaches but it is absolutely not hotels fault. The hotel doesn‘t have restaurant so the breakfast is limited and there is only instant coffee… I liked the philippino breakfast, my husband not so… but anyways we liked to eat our breakfasts in different restaurants so it wasn‘t big deal for us. The hotel has very big land so probably in the future it will become bigger… this hotel has a lot of potential and it would be great to have there pool when there is a low tide. And restaurant and cafe would be big plus. But im sure in the future it will become the best hotel in Bantayan Island and I am glad that I could spent my time here.

Room For the price, I expected the room to be more spacious, which was a bit disappointing. Facilities Adding amenities like a massage room or a dipping pool could enhance the overall guest experience. Restaurant Currently, the property does not have an on-site restaurant. While it's possible to walk to nearby properties for a quick meal, it would be more convenient if dining options were available on-site. The bar also lacks variety, offering limited choices. Plumbing (Sanitary) The property needs significant improvement in its plumbing and general maintenance. While the room initially smelled clean due to the humidifier, it seemed more like an attempt to mask unpleasant odors. Unfortunately, we encountered cockroaches upon check-in and again in the bathroom the next morning. Upon closer inspection, the drawer under the bathroom sink had a noticeable odor, likely due to gaps in the corners where pests might be entering. This issue requires urgent attention.

A picture perfect place. Very private, spacious with only 8 rooms. You can really enjoy that piece of paradise. The hotel beach and garden is pure perfection. Lovely pancake breakfast and the private dinner that we was cooked for us was really really perfect. They still need a bit of training to fulfill the guests needs before you have to ask. But I‘m sure they will manage that really soon. We‘ll come back.

I love it so much, from the accommodation to customer service 10/10. It was convenient for is because it near from the port and other tourist attraction. Our honeymoon was memorable because of this so will definitely come back and recommend

The cost. Too expensive for what is offered. No restaurant, doesn’t have a great breakfast menu. No swimming pool. However the beach is amazing and well kept. Very serene. Fantastic staff. No other complaints.

New facilities close to the port and direct access to the beach

There is no pool and no restaurant, although staff was very accomodatiing and could agmrrange frwsh seafood to be bought and cook if needed. A little pricy consideri g the lack of pool but overall good.

The staff were amazing!

The breakfast did not have fruit available and the coffee was 3 in 1. They need to have better coffee. They did have nesspresso in the rooms, though.
