Reviewed Aug 12, 2026The view is just AMAZINGGGGGG from the place, it is a difficult place to reach but so worth it! Ask locals for help to locate. The food they prepare is also great, loved the french toast. The staff was also really nice and polite.
The location tho has GREAT views, it's a bit difficult to locate and tad bit tricky to reach. It;s high altitude so ofcourse keep wifi expectations accordingly only, not suitable for workaction. Come w Vacation expectations, the view is too beautiful anyway to be looking at screens of your laptops or phones. Also since it's high altitude, sometimes electricity issues could be there.

My room had a geyser issue, which is understandable given the location and how remote it is, otherwise everything was spot on!

Housekeeping did an excellent job maintaining cleanliness, and everything in my room was always neat, fresh, and well-organized. The only issues were of Internet n electricity but since it was due to natural reasons (rain/snowfall) there wasn’t much to be done about it.

Kanhaiya- the hostel manager was greaat.. accomodated me very well. i was a female solo traveler. he made sure i was served well and was very very helpful and kind. the view from the hostel is also amazing. if you are traveling solo, definitely this is the place to stay to meet new amazing people.

And when I went the hostel was not functioning and when I tried to contact the owner, he said that I should have called earlier before going to the location... The path to the hostel is also very dirty and you have to climb a dirty hill to reach the stairs of the hostel. Overall it was bad because I was already tired from all the hiking.

Location, the trek to the hostel is too far from the vehicle parking point.

A special shoutout to our host, Ayush, who made the experience even more memorable. He surprised my sister with a Nutella toast at midnight for her birthday — such a sweet and thoughtful gesture 🥹✨ We honestly had a blast and felt so well taken care of. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Tosh — great people, beautiful views, and real warmth. 💛

Hostel was good, but needs maintenance. Places around the property look under construction although its almost 7 years old. Also Tosh overall is dirty. There’s trash everywhere, the villagers have no intention to keep it clean. Tourists are definitely to blame, but should be fixed to bring out the complete beauty of the place. Also the short hike uphill to the hostel is also dirty and broken at places, making it a pain to get out and explore.

No single point of contact. Kitchen is outsourced to someone else and the property manager Ayush would say that it is not his department if the food is taking longer than expected. Cleanliness of common areas was so bad it was difficult to even look at. And no one would clean unless asked multiple times. For most things the reply would be "this is hostel, yahaan aisa hi hota hai". Towels were also given on request despite our room including it. The bathroom too had a pipe leakage. We understand the issues or electricity and hot water but cleanliness and basic amenities are a big problem here.
