Gondwana Game Reserve

Gondwana is a Must visit stop along the Garden Route. We stayed in a lodge with 3 bedrooms. The interior was very stylish with a lot of attention to detail. Luxurious rooms with massive space. The staff was super friendly and the Safari drives amazing! Our Guide Ruan made it a very special experience.

الفيلا كانت جميلة جداً ووسيعة وفخمة ونظيفة وميزتها الأسرّه فيها تدفيه بالنسبة للمحميه شفنا كل الحيوانات عدا الزرافة وكانت تجربه جميلة للامانه وكذلك فريق العمل محترمين وخدومين وبالنسبه للأكل كان حليو ويفي بالغرض واهم شي لا تفوتون الهوت تشوكليت 😍🤓

موقعه قطعه عن الخدمات اقرب شي لك محطة بنزين يمكن تبعد عن بوابة المنتجع نص ساعة لكن محطة مرتبه وفيها حوفي شوب

كل شي اعجبني من الوصول حتى المغادرة الاستقبال كذالك اهتمامهم بمكان الاقامه عندما ادخل للفيلا ارى انه تم ترتيب كل شي وتدفاء الاسره وكذالك الغرف وتجهيزها للنوم

عدم وضوح الرسوم الاضافيه عند الحجز اكتشفت يوجد رسوم على التوصيل من والى الوجبات اذا لم يكن معك سياره كذالك زيادة الحطب يوجد في مكان الاقامة لكن غير كافي

Gondwana was a lovely experience. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. Especially the Lehele Lodge dining staff, they went out of their way to make sure our big group was happy with our meals. Our guide was very knowledgeable, and made us comfortable on our game drive. We saw many happy relaxed animals enjoying their natural habitat.

The safari experience was exceptional and truly exceeded our expectations. The safari vehicles were comfortable, well-maintained, and perfectly suited for game drives. Our guide was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and made every safari enjoyable and informative. Transportation and activity scheduling were very well organized, making everything smooth and stress-free. We also appreciated the safety briefings and practical advice provided for our family before each safari, which made us feel secure throughout our stay. Overall, the staff’s attention to safety, organization, and guest experience was outstanding.

The food options were quite limited for a property of this standard. I was also disappointed that, during check-out, the receptionist directly asked whether I wanted to leave a tip for the staff. Considering this is a luxury five-star lodge with premium pricing, I believe tipping should remain entirely at the guest’s discretion and should not be prompted in this way. Additionally, the upper floor of our villa had a strong unpleasant smell, likely caused by moisture in the wooden ceiling. The odor made it uncomfortable to sit or sleep upstairs. Fortunately, our family did not need to use the upper bedroom, but I would not recommend booking this particular villa unless the issue is resolved.

Die Villa war sehr luxuriös, sehr gut ausgestattet und schlichtweg der Hammer!! Das Essen ist top! Location super und etwas besonderes. Die Mitarbeitenden sind mega freundlich und sehr dienstleistungsorientiert. Die Safaris waren wunderschön!

Tolle Unterkunft! Feines Essen, grosse, luxeriöse Zimmer, super Game Drives. Würden diese Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen.

Eher teuer

Gondwana ist ein sehr schönes und großartiges Gebiet. Auch wenn man mal keine Tiere sehen sollte, ist die Landschaft unbeschreiblich schön. Wir waren einmal ganz oben auf einem Berg, wo es sehr viele blühende Büsche und Blumen gab. Tiere haben wir viele gesehen. Kurz hinter der Einfahrt wurden wir von 3 Geparden, Giraffen und Antilopen begrüßt. Es gibt dort noch sehr viele Nashörner, die wir immer wieder sahen.Wir wohnten in einem großen Familienhaus, welches sehr gut eingerichtet war.

Eigentlich war alles gut. Was uns nicht gefallen hat, war das die Safarifahrzeuge mit 10 Personen zu voll waren. Wenn man dann einen Mittelplatz erwischt, kann man so gut wie nicht fotografieren. Wir hatten das Pech allerdings nur bei unserer 1. Fahrt. Die nächsten 3 Game Drive hatten wir dann als Familie( 7 Personen) allein.

Traumhaft schöne Anlage! Alle big 5 gesehen, alle Erwartungen übertroffen! Essen auch lecker! Sehr zu empfehlen!

Very modern comfortable, clean and practical accommodation and facilities. Beautiful location and views - overlooking water hole to which the animals flocked throughout the day. Food was good and plentiful but could be a little more refined. Staff were great and helpful. Well organised. You get what it says on the tin! Game drives were wonderful. Our guide (Ruan) was excellent. Very personable , friendly and accommodating. Safari trucks comfortable and clean and suitable for the 2.5/3 hour morning and evening game drives over at times bumpy, rough and steep terrain. Saw stacks of animals incl elephants, giraffe, zebra, lions, wildebeast, buffalo cheetah (albeit at a distance!), impala, kudo, springbok, hippo and baboons amongst others! Fantastic! Happily recommend this place despite being a little pricey - it was worth it.

At times food portion sizes were excessive and could be a little more refined.

Alles super neu & schick!

Das Essen war leider nur mäßig, immer kalt und die Auswahl war nicht sehr groß. Dafür aber ein nachhaltiges Konzept! Unser Guide war nicht sehr kommunikativ & bei Fragen hat er eher harsch statt interessiert geantwortet. Bademäntel und auch sonstige Annehmlichkeiten wie ausreichend Wasser auf dem Zimmer gab es leider nicht - für den Preis hätten wir uns darüber gefreut

Tolle Lage mit wunderbaren Aussichten! Wir hatten Kwena Suite Nr.1. Sehr gute Ausstattung, auch wenn man keine freistehende Badewanne benötigt. Schöner Pool, bequeme Liegen. Sehr gutes Essen á la carte. Freundlicher Service. Schöne Terrasse, gemütlicher Kaminraum. Gut organisierte Game Drives! (Es geht um 6h z.B. los, Treffpunkt 5:30h, das reicht auch 10 vor 6!) Warm anziehen!!! Wind kann kalt sein!!! Sie haben 3 Geparde (toll beim Fressen!) und 3 Löwen( auf 4 Fahrten nicht gesehen) auf 11,5 Tausend ha.

Was wir gerne gehabt hätten, wären eine Nespresso-Maschine und Liegen auf der eigenen Terrasse. Nicht nur Stühle. Man muss wissen, die Tiere sind angesiedelt und meist getrackt. Atmosphäre im Speiseraum könnte netter sein.

- Weitaus die schönste Safari Lodge in der wir je waren - Unser Guide „Jaun“ war der absolute hammer -> hohes Fachwissen, nicht nur „Mainstream“, gewissenhaft wenn es darauf ankam und mit der richtigen Prise Humor -> DANKE 🙏! - Safari Tours jeweils von 0600-0900 und 1600-1900 Uhr (inkl. Kaffeestop von je ca. 20‘) - Big Five sind hier fast garantiert (haben alle zusammen auf einer einzigen Safari Tour sehen dürfen) - Mega Essensauswahl in top Qualität - Super schöner Poolbereich mit warmem Wasser

- Gebühren in Höhe von ca EURO 25.- pro Person für zwei Übernachtungen mussten vor Ort noch extra bezahlt werden.

Es ist ein traumhaft schönes … ja wie nennt man sowas eigentlich? Hotel? Lodge? Camp? … Wie auch immer, tolles Ambiente, superfreundliche Leute, preislich sehr hoch angelegt, wofür man allerdings auch einiges geboten bekommt. Abstriche würde ich allenfalls bei der Verpflegung machen. Fünf Sterne würde ich dafür nicht geben, allenfalls 3 bis vier. Das Essen ist nicht schlecht, aber es wurde mehrfach nur lauwarm serviert, was wir auf eine schlechte Abstimmung zwischen Küche und Service zurückführen. Ausserdem ist die Auswahl der Beilagen m. E. zu beschränkt und einseitig. Die Game Drives sind phantastisch, deutlich länger als im Prospekt angegeben und die Ranger geben sich wirklich alle Mühe um das Beste aus einer Fahrt herauszuholen, so dass man wirklich alle Tiere zu sehen bekommt. Den Leoparden/ Geparden haben wir leider nicht sehen können, ist aber garnicht schlimm, dafür war alles andere deutlich über unseren Erwartungen … Wir können jedem nur empfehlen mindestens 2 Nächte dort zu verbringen …

Die Safari ein Traum..das Essen im Restaurant wunderbar..die Landschaft göttlich..

Wir waren in KV2..eine wirklich sehr schöne Unterkunft.. allerdings ist die Reinigung des Hauses wirklich sehr schlecht..wir waren 4 Tage dort und nicht einmal wurden die Bäder wirklich gereinigt geschweige denn das Toilettenpapier aufgefüllt.. für den Preis der Unterkunft ein No Go ..gleiches im Schlafzimmer unten..die Fußspuren vom Vorgänger waren immer noch dort,als wir wieder gefahren sind..bei den Preisen erwartet ich auch in der Hausreinigung sehr viel mehr

Es war ganz toll und großes Kompliment an unseren Guide, Natasha. Was sie alles weiß und uns alle gezeigt hat, der Wahnsinn. Tolle Unterkunft, sehr sauber, super Frühstück und alle sehr freundlich.

Super luxurious and sustainable

Incredible experience. We could not fault it in any way. The accommodation was luxurious, the food delicious and all staff so friendly and helpful. The game drives were the absolute highlight! Abri, our guide, was so knowledgeable, entertaining and patient. He went out of his way to make sure that we had a great time, starting early and finishing late to ensure that we had the best possible chance of seeing all that Gondwana has to offer. Huge thanks to all concerned. Highly recommended! A stay at Gondwana will not disappoint.

Apart from manager. My husband got stomach upset after dinner and he couldn’t sleep a whole night before morning safaris. We had a long drive ahead and I asked manager if can do late check out, so at least he could sleep 30 minutes before drive. They refused, no medication available at reception as well. We checked in hotel exited and grateful and checked out like completely unwelcoming people.

Amazing and helpful staff. Safari guides were very well informed especially thanks to ours - Therien. She knew her stuff and gave us very helpful information on the animals.

Das Essen wird bei mehreren Tagen Aufenthalt etwas eintönig vorallem wenn man Vegetarisch isst.

We did 3 nights at Gondwana, staying in one of the Kwena Lodges. The property and grounds are gorgeous, and the food is exceptional. A big shoutout to all of the staff. Everyone was super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Gerrit and Ashley were our game drive rangers during our stay, they were both very knowledgeable and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our drives!

Das Essen war sehr gut. Für uns zuviel, haben ein Mittagessen ausfallen lassen. Unser Ranger Stan was our Man. Hat uns die Big Five gezeigt und war ein sehr guter Guide. Nur zu empfehlen.

Die Entfernung von der Logde zur Reception und Restaurant war ziemlich weit, was entsprechend Zeit kostete hin und her zu fahren.

Wir waren 3 Tage in Gondwana und waren schlichtweg begeistert! Tolle Unterkunft im freien Gelände, die alle Stücke gespielt hat, top- Verpflegung mit sehr gutem Service und ein begeisterter Safari - Guide (herzlichen Dank, Felix 😘)!

De maaltijden zijn ontzettend zwaar en het restaurant personeel vriendelijk maar erg aanwezig.

Our experience at Gondwana was amazing and exceeded our expectations by far. The friendliness of staff, the quality of restaurant and service was splendid. Our daily game drives were fantastic- our guide Björn was experienced and made every encounter special with interesting information. Björn was a standout and made our game reserve experience stellar- tracking cheetahs and lions in the early morning hours and adding a personal touch to our experience. Focus on conservation at Gondwana is fantastic. A BIG thank you to the Gondwana team- we will be back for sure! 🦁🐆

Malgré une météo maussade, ce séjour a été absolument magnifique. Très grande qualité d’hôtel et notre guide pour les safaris était extrêmement compétent. Une parenthèse enchantée

luxus pur. rießige Villa, mit 3 Schlafzimmern, sensationall groß, sehr schön eingerichtet, tolle Bäder für jedes Schlafzimmer. Rehe und Giraffen direkt vor der Villa. Im preis ist das Essen und die game drives inbegriffen. sehr nettes personal zuvorkommend und sympatisch. Die Rancher kennen das Revier so gut, das man garantierte die Big 5 sieht. Alles bestens organisiert. Frühstück (veganes Omlett und Frensh Toast) waren sensationell.

Anfahrt ca. 30 km über Schotterpiste, war sehr anstrengend und nervig (ich glaueb aber es gibt bischen kürzerer Wege). das Essen war exotisch und es gabe mehrer vegane Alternativen, allerdings war das Mittag und Abendessen eher durchschnittlich.

Super fijn verblijf, hele goeie gids, heerlijk eten.

Einfach nur Traumhaft

Phantastische, großzügige Unterkunft inmitten des Reservats, ca. 7- 8 km von der zentralen Lodge entfernt. Es schauen schon einmal Gnus oder Antilopen durch das Fenster. Die Verpflegung ist sehr gut und reichlich. Unser Guide Theriece hat die Safarifahrten sehr interessant gestaltet und ist auf die Wünsche der Gäste eingegangen. Das Personal in der Lodge war ausnehmend freundlich.

Vielleicht etwas zu preisintensiv, aber das ist ja vor der Buchung bekannt.

Toll ausgestattete Villen. Die täglichen game-drives sind erlebnisreich und lehrreich.

The food quality and the cook master need to be better

The guide was not experienced enough. During the ride she only answered questions when we asked. She didn't give us proactively information about the reserve, animals, etc. Food also need improvement, nothing special. Going back and to the Villa is with extra charge which was not mentioned prior to arrival and does not make sense (at least guests should be picked up to and from the reception during the meal times for free) The lighter in the villa not working and we really wanted go light the candles No tooth past, brush, vanity, lotion in the bathrooms. The fireplace does not work and was told it is broken in our villa.

We had the most amazing stay at Gondwana. The staff were so meticulous and kind. Our guide Coolman is so experienced - we managed to see the most amazing sights - lions, cheetahs and so much more. We wholeheartedly recommend Gondwana

Ein unvergessliches Abenteuer!!! Atemberaubend und wunderschön. Das Brüllen der Löwen nicht nur hören, sondern fühlen!!! Die Tiere sind so nah, der absolute Wahnsinn. Jede Fahrt von der Unterkunft zum Hauptgebäude ist schon eine kleine Safari für sich. Das Team ist unglaublich liebenswert. Hier kann man sich nur wohlfühlen!!! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!!! Die Abreise macht traurig…
