Great location

Location close to city centre. The price is great considering purely the location. The host was really polite and available for any requests. The balcony has a view of the sea through the window grill. When booking the room, I did not check if the room had air-conditioning and I found out about it only when I reached the property. The host was kind to arrange a table fan.

Central location attracts lot of noise from street and club at night. I am not a light sleeper but I could tell it was noisy. The room without AC was a bit tough to stay in (my mistake I did not check this while booking) Room and the balcony could be cleaner.

It reflects what you pay for. The place it’s ok, the guy is really nice. There was no mosquito net but the night I stayed there, it was actually fine, not a huge problem as I thought at the beginning. There’s a kitchen on the top floor and fridge you can used. Not really clean but nice plus to have. It has a nice terrace where to have breakfast with a nice view of the sea. The position of this place is perfect, literally in the center. Just mind that it’s literally on top of 2 night clubs so take that in mind depending of what day of the week it is.

The room had no mosquito net and it was smelling like mold we took a while to make the smell go away and it never did

Great location! Within walking distance to Marshmallow Spot and all the top cafés. The rooftop view is amazing, though—perfect for chilling! On the plus side, there was air conditioning

The room wasn’t very cozy, with old furniture. There was no hot water. The staff barely speaks English, which made communication difficult. There are two nightclubs nearby, and the music can be loud at night. Also, someone kept stealing my food from the fridge in the shared kitchen.

Great location , very central to good restaurants and beach is just across the road , easy walk to several surf breaks.Excellent view from roof top , free washing machine and cooking facilities.

Noisey club next door on a Sunday night

Close to the train station and has a shop underneath. Nice balcony.

There was a party at a bar next door that played very loud music until 00:30. This party happens every Thursday and Sunday, so be aware of this if you are needing to get a good night’s sleep.

The room was mouldy and damp with no air circulation. Also sink was broken and shower and no wear for clothes

Beds were too short and not so comfy.

The location was great. Restaurants, train and bus station, pharmacy, market just less then 5 to 10 min walk. There is a supermarket just beneath the hotel, very handy. There is a kitchen at the rooftop te be used from which you could see the sea.

The hotel needs some restoration, bedrooms, windows, bathroom, doors. The manager was very helpful fixing the wifi signal. Certain nights It was noisy because the hotel was besides a party place.

We really loved this place! It felt like a second home being able to use the kitchen and fridge to cook your own food and free use of the washing machine. The rooftop is amazing with sunbeds and chill area you can even see the sunset from here. A big thank you to Kumara the staff who was super friendly and made us feel extremely welcome.

Very nice and helpful Manager. The best thing about this Hotel is the fantastic sea view from the rooftop terrace. There is a little kitchen what is very handy to make your own food or hot drinks. Very central location across from the beach surrounded by nice and hip restaurants and coffeeshops. Great value for money and fast wifi.

- lots of space as the room was large - kitchen to make your own food - washing machine to do own laundry - shop underneath accommodation - extremely central location! - No A/C but the fan worked extremely well so this wasn’t a problem

- the room was extremely basic - the room had a fusty/mould smell - the beds were not very comfortable - no hot water - we found 2 cockroaches in our room during our stay which were coming from under the bathroom sink - we stayed on a Thursday night and there is a bar/club called Lamana next door which holds a party until 1am and the music was unbelievably loud! So bare this in mind in terms of your dates/stay

The room was old and it had an unpleasant smell. The sheets and pillow cover were humid, which also gave them a weird smell.

Friendly owners, prepared the room early and kindly let us check in. Nice rooftop area, has basic kitchen facilities which we didn’t use. Great location. Spacious room. Bed was comfortable enough.

Perfect location, smack in the heart of town, if you want to be out and about exploring the beaches and cafes which are mostly just across the road, or a short cycle ride away. Deepal was super helpful, and a friendly guy too. It's a no frills place, but great value for what I paid. All my basic needs were well met. There are some neat extras like the washing machine.

It's right by the road, so if you're a light sleeper, you'll need some ear plugs. The hallways are a bit gloomy, but I don't want to nitpick, this was shoulder season anyway, with minimal staff.

The location was right behind the Cargill’s and so in the center of Ahangama which makes it quite easy to go around. Great rooftop and staff was really nice. The private room is really affordable

My door wasn’t locking so I didn’t feel 100% safe at night. Same with the windows so it could be a bit noisy

I had almost three wonderful months of stay at Glance Beach. Charith has made a great effort to make sure that I had a nice stay, as well as our wonderful room boy who was there to help us immediately if needed. The location is perfect and could not be more central, just by the beach and all the nice restaurants.

The non-ac rooms were very hot, but also imaginable due to the great price. A bit noisey due to the location being next to the main road, but definitely worth the location in general.

Very sad with how this place turned out as location, the rooms, kitchen. Roof terrace were perfect. However had a extremely bad experience here. A man who worked here seemed nice I believe he was drunk on the first night but we don't mind that. However on our last night me and my boyfriend were asleep at 1:30 am when we woke up to him standing in our doorway room, he may have knocked but we did not hear. This was very alarming as we were both sleeping without clothes as its hot and on holiday! My boyfriend quickly jumped up and told him to leave and then he started asking us to pay for our room! We had already payed earlier that day, and even if we hadn't it wouldn't be okay to ask at this time of the night anyway. We are only 21/22 and to have him seeing me a young girl without clothes I just felt really uncomfortable. The manager was very apologetic and not his fault. They gave us 1000 back (2.50) which seemed like we should have had the full night refunded. I'm not one to leave reveiws or negative ones and this place has amazing reviews so I'm sad to write this but I'm scared to think if I was a solo female traveller

It is very loud at night due to the bar next door. Our room had a strong smell of mould and dampness as there is barely any ventilation in the room. The bed was unbearably hard.

Brilliant location for beach, train station, buses, cafes etc. Roof terrace where you can watch the sunset over the sea and look over Ahangama high street. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Our room was large, had everything we needed (table, chair, hooks). You also had access to washing machine and kitchen. Accommodation is really budget friendly especially considering the great location. Easy to find and get to.

air conditioning in the rooms could be... the rooms are so stuffy that we sat there until... 10 p.m. on the terrace and played cards. The heat is steaming from the walls. There is no insulation.... wi-fi info should be in every room. Code and password. The nice gentleman serving, unfortunately, doesn't know anything about it. On the last day of our stay, wi-fi was very poor

Super noisy at nights as it is located in the main road and next to Lamana Restaurant that launches parties every Thursdays and Sundays. Those days I couldn’t sleep really good.

Glance beach is in the centre of town, easy to get to the shops. Has a kitchen and a great terrace.

The WIFI was excellent as was the location.

The rooms was dirty and extremely hot. The so-called balcony was glass covered which made it work as a greenhouse or oven.

We spent New Year’s Eve and the following days at Glance Beach - if you’re looking for a central location there is no better than this. Directly above a supermarket where you can get all you need, surrounded by nice restaurants and bars and less than a minute walk onto the beach. Lahiru took great care of us including helping us catch a bus to Ella and giving us assistance with anything we needed on our stay. The room is simple but the AC, a comfy bed and a shower with solid water pressure was all we needed when spending long days on the beach surfing etc. We will definitely be back

The communication was good and easy. The view from the room and terrace is beautiful and the location is in the center of the city next to many restaurants, bars and cafes.

The value for money - as a digital nomad yoga teacher solo traveler I had eveything I need - private room with bathroom + sea view, roof terrace with sea view perfect to practice my yoga on, well equipped kitchen and table, washing machine and space to dry my clothes and perfect location right across the road from the beach and friendly staff

Very noisy, you can hear clacson all the night and people talking in the corridor. No soap at all No curtains so at 6 you wake up because of the light

Close to a supermarket and coffee shops. The rooftop is cool with a nice view but there is nothing on it at the moment (just a table and 2 sun beds).

Moskitoe could get in the room since there was no moskitoe net by the windows and no net on the bed either. The employee was a bit too much after us even if he was really kind (asking to come to restaurant, texting us a lot on what’s app, …).

An excellent location in the heart of Ahangama. Across the road from the beach and nearby cafes, restaurants. The communal kitchen and living area on the rooftop is great for socialising and catching the evening breeze.
