Bougan Villea Retreat

Heel aardige mensen, prima eten. Erg hulpvaardig. Prachtige muurschildering.

Het mocht wat dichter bij het Bikini-strand liggen.

Nice basic rooms with everything you need. The staff was very friendly and always helpful. They offer different tours we did turtle, manta and whale shark tour with Anwar - that was really amazing. Anwar filmed with his camera and sent us the pictures. Thanks for that again 🙏 the Maldivian breakfast was very good - they brought for us new chairs to the beach

The reef is very nice but the beach we did not like - it is small and there are a kind of sandflies at the beach which made an enjoyable stay impossible

La stanza è fantastica, molto grande, letto king size, comoda e superfornita (accappatoi, pantofole, shampoo, conditioner, cassaforte, te, caffè, zucchero e bollitore), bella illuminazione, attaccapanni.

Z całego serca polecam ten hotel wszystkim, którzy szukają relaksu, wyjątkowej atmosfery i prawdziwej gościnności.

Friendly, helpful and kind staff. Spacious room with comfy bed. Pleasant indoor and outdoor communal areas.

Nothing

The best thing about this place are its people - Anwar and Shareef made our stay so relaxing and made us feel like we’re part of the community :) We hope to be back some day again, hopefully soon. Shukuriyaa! :D

Very nice and calm place on a small island. Close to the bikini beach, kind and helpful staff, although very busy (just two people for the whole place) and thus not available at some moments. Not their fault though. The breakfast was ok, you get to choose from 4 options, dinners also good, especially local fish. The snorkeling trip was great. Thank you guys for making our stay pleasant.

The place needs more personnel to offer top services like everyday cleaning and front desk presence.

Everything was perfect. Anwar and Shareef are amazing. You can feel like at home :)) thank you for everything. My kids were so happy there. We will come back for sure.

Only one thing. Good coffee machine will be useful:)

It’s a lovely place to stay. My room was very spacious, and I had everything I needed. Bed was also really comfortable. The bikini beach is only a short walk away. Have to mention that the villa is really beautifully decorated. Especially amazing is the dinner room’s wall with elaborate and colourful sea scene.

The breakfast could be more substantial.

We enjoyed our stay here - the room and guesthouse was comfortable and clean. The island is small and friendly, although has grown due to the filling of the reef around most of the island that happened last year (2023) and which has filled a lot of the existing reef for snorkelling. This was a real shame and quite sad, although we understand from locals it’s because they need more space for homes. The guest house used to be really close to the sea, but not now. Some of the older reviews are written pre the fillng and so maybe indicate a bit more of a nature feel. Howevwr, as it’s a small isle, it’s only 5 min walk to the bikini beach with a lovely reef full of fish, rays, sharks which is ideal for spending hours and hours snorkelling. Shareef and Anwar, who run the guesthouse are a funny pair, we had fun with them! We went on the manta tour with Anwar and Nabeel the owner, and were blown away by seeing at least 6-10 of these beautiful creatures. They did us a good deal on the trip too, which was kind. The pair were very amused by us being vegetarian, but did accommodate a delicious tuna-free mashuni and roshi breakfast every morning. We ate lunches and dinners at the hotels on the bikini beach - with okay choice of mostly pasta dishes for veggies. We were treated to 3 Nurse Sharks, 3 Black-tip and a Marble Stingray one evening - they feed within the lagoon beside the Lagoon View restaurant area.

As above some of the older reviews are from before the reef being filled in. It's worth knowing that Google satellite view is still showing the old reef. Do a Google search to see what the island looks like now.

5 min walk from bikini beach. Very kind hospitality from Anwar, he organized a wonderful snorkeling tour!

The owner Nabeel was very helpful. Booked our speedboat from Airport to his place before we reached Maldives. Staff Anwar and Sarif were extremely accommodating. The Manta ray and picnic island tours were enjoyable with Anwar. Short walk to bikini beach were the house reefs are. Awesome for snorkeling We forgot our passports in the safe and went to another island and Sarif sent it over without any hassle. That was much appreciated. The rooms were serviced everyday and we had a choice of different types of breakfast ever morning. Just on the last day they said that breakfast was complimentary and didn't have a choice. Spoke to the owner about it and he said he will implement the choice for future guests and thanked me for the suggestion. If I go back to Bodulfolhudhoo I will definitely stay here again.

Big, clean, comfortable rooms with all the amenities. Anwar and Shariff are polite, friendly and helpful.

Only a 3-minute walk from a wonderful beach with sunbeds. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. You have everything you need in the room. Slippers, bathrobe, coffee, tea, shampoo... Breakfast was excellent, you can also order dinner, which was also delicious. The staff is very friendly.

Everything. The hotel is very clean, the staff is helpful. The island is small, but clean and colorful. Bikini beach is nice, with clear water. I highly recommend it.

Nice atmosphere and very friendly hosts. The house reef in Bodufolhudhoo is the best we saw during our trip to Mathiveri, Bodufolhudhoo, Rasdhoo and Dhiffushi. It's simply amazing and very easy to reach with the kids as well.

They met us from the ferry to take our luggage, welcome drink upon arrival, very comfortable bed, yummy pancakes for breakfast and chicken fried rice for dinner. Anwar and Shareef were very attentive and Anwar’s art work is incredible around the accommodation.

We had an amazing stay thanks to great hospitality of Shareef and Anwar. They took an exceptional care of us, providing friendly welcome and helping throughout the whole stay. Food was delicious, room always clean with extra touch, any requests were provided instantly. Great activity choice. Anwar and Shareef made sure that everything was done in the best way. Many thanks from us and hopefully we will see you again soon.

Nothing, all was fanatic.

The staff was very friendly and ready to help us with any problem. It was clean and they offer beautiful experiences like shark trips!

Nothing

Very nice small hotel with great rooms, really worth it. The staff was so kind and amazing to us

Food order must be done several hours in advance, and food often served cold

Food was simple but trough fresh ingrezbery delicious. The local island is small, you can walk to every place in five minutes. The retreat has a good central location, beach is about 3 min to walk. The beach is beautiful und the house reef is near to snorkel. The staff was very kind and helpful and looking for us also in activities like manta snorkeling and dolphin watching but also if we had a wish or question. This was very special. Thank you Anwar and Shareef

It was the best stay for us on the Maldives so we don't miss everything

This is a charming lodge near the centre of the small island, within a short walk to amenities. The lodge is very peaceful and quiet, and is set inside a private courtyard. Rooms are large, comfortable, and well-appointed, with lots of natural light, great electrical and AC. Facility is simple but has strong design aspect that underlines the experience of being here. Breakfast is included with stay; snorkeling equipment also available. Service is excellent.

Anwar is the best person and worker for that you can find in order to make your stay here memorable, it will make you feel like you are part of their family and that makes the difference, it's because of everything and their care and attention to make you feel good and have everything what you need is more than remarkable, anywhere a person goes what they take with them is humane treatment, because everywhere there are beautiful places and things to do and see, but wherever you go they turn away for you like Anwar the memory and friendship that is created stays forever. great professional best person and a friend for life. thank you for being like this. friend, cousin, brother.

Que s'acabi el poder compartir amb tant bellessima persona

The common areas of the property were the highlight with a very welcoming and comfortable lobby/seating area and a nice outside sitting area. There was an outside shower which was very convenient when you have dive gear to rinse and enough space to hang your wet things. There was a menu you could order lunch and dinner from in advance and the food was tasty and portions generous. They even invited us for a nice bbq. The staff and owner were extremely friendly and helpful and available if you needed anything. The room spacious and comfortable and the shower had warm water and good pressure. The wifi was great and the tv worked well for streaming from the phones with our own HDMI cable.

The room door really needs replacement as it is old and lets in a lot of light and noise from the hallway. The bathroom tiles look old and the pipe of the shower was loose and you have to be careful not to remove the shower head. Also the cleaning of the bathroom could have been better as there were several spiders on arrival.

Nice and clean little hotel. The staff, Anwar and Fazil, are very nice persons and always helpful. We would book again for a stay on Bodufolhudhoo. 👍

Beautifull room with aircondition

Nothing

I came on a solo trip to the Maldives and stayed 4 days in Bougan Villea retreat. I felt so welcome and taken care of throughout. The inn is new so everything is clean and in great condition. The local beach is currently under reclamation but the bikini beach is just a 3 minute walk away. The beach there is beautiful with a truly amazing house reef. I snorkelled there about 8 times in the 4 days and I saw pufferfish, squid/calamari, sharks, and even caught glimpse of a manta coming to the reef. A special thanks to Anwar from the resort, who personally brought me snorkelling to show me the good spots. He also brought me to see the night feeding of nurse sharks, and took me on a motorcycle ride around the island on my last night. As a guests, I was able to borrow snorkel equipment for free, as well as the stand up paddleboard. The highlight of my trip was paying to go out to swim with the Manta Rays, an experience I will never forget. They were huge and majestic, and it was just magical. Although the island is not big, I’m thankful for the 4 days at this lovely place.

I wish the blanket could be thicker, and I would have preferred a softer/smaller pillow.

Clean and comfortable house with friendly personal. Everything perfect.

nothing to complain about

Calm & cozy
