Lovely stay. Issue with the rooms but Karen went above and beyond to sort this. Very helpful
Nice and spacy room
Take care and be prepared if you don't travel by car, it's called BnB bit there is no breafast. Dinner at Pennyfan Inn also on sunday evening they organized sth
It suited our purpose
The riding trekking was good
No hot water on arrival (but got sorted) beds were uncomfortable, very dated, coffee and tea facility weren't replaced or the one loo roll, only 2 towels between the four of us ( luckily I brought some with me) not enough cups, bowls etc. TV didn't work. Quite noisy night time with dogs barking etc, no breakfast. Location was ok but need a car to get anywhere nothing in walking distance.
Location is perfect. Near most of waterfalls. Good bar/restaurant near by ( make sure you pre booked). Just few minutes away from National Showcaves Centre, for kids is perfect. Microwave , small fridge and cable very handy. We spend 3 nights, all good. No breakfast , but nice caff with breakfast near by ( open at 9:30)
Small repair needed in the bath and entrance door.
It's not working hot water.
-Room had free wifi and location. -Free parking. was worried the gate would hit my car and space was a bit tight if all the rooms were fully booked. -Good size room. one double & 2 singles
there is a lot unfortunelty: Stayed in room 2. -only 3 towels provide for a family of 4. they did rectify this by dropping off another one while we went out for dinner along with a hand towel. -shower is broken, leaking water from the pipe fitting from the mains water controls. -No running hot water so couldnt shower in our room. Tried to call the host but went to voice mail. so left a message. called again same - straight to vm. Luckily the host daughter number was also provided and she came back with a solution to use another rooms shower (Room 1 which had an electric shower) after few hours of raising this which i am truely grateful. - TV remote was missing so unable to use it which was shame since we got bored in the room. -sleep was terrible due to several barking dogs . sounded like a competition between them -No AC -room was HOT. overall there is alot of improvement - mainly the shower and the barking dogs. if you can resolve this then we would come back.
It was so cozy and had everything available you could need absolutely loved it there and was amazing to look out the window and see the amazing views of the mountains and see all the horses too!!!
Couldn’t fault it one bit absolutely loves it
Lovely location. Lovely horse. Cozy and beautiful views
Bit of confusion on arrival as room wasnt ready but it was sorted promptly.
The room was clean and well equipped. Lovely location and host. We stayed for the horse riding which was excellent. The views were amazing and the beds were comfortable. Straightforward check-in process. Will visit again.
I loved waking up to the sound of the horses and my son lived stroking the horses and dogs. The bedroom was clean and tidy and the staff welcoming and always on the go with the farm chores too.
With the drought the nearby waterfall which is said to be one of wales largest and great for kids was almost dried up. So we will need to return in winter but it was quite the experiwnce exploring the dry river basin!
Most stunning little room! Owner and family were so welcoming on arrival. The room was perfect, clean and bed was comfortable. No complaints at all, was very happy with the stay!! Thank you
Very cosy flat and beds. So lovely to look outside the window and to watch horses and dogs!
Minor things: we only found one cup, although we were two people (and there were four beds), and the shower head was a bit loose, so you couldn’t really stand under it. But that didn’t take away from a great experience!
A cozy cottage with an amazing view.
Staff were lovely & great little rooms!
We did have one minor hiccup with the electric but was sorted promptly and staff were great.
Good location
The location, you couldn’t hear other people in the other rooms, only when they walked past the door in the corridor.
The Wi-Fi didn’t work and we couldn’t get the TV to work, on the last morning there was no hot water so we couldn’t shower before we left. There were no tea bags or white sugar and we only had enough milk for our first night. Parking was tricky at some points in our stay.
Great location for showcaves
Nothing
Everything room was in attic No head room Bed was very uncomfortable as springs through mattress. No fire escape Dogs barking early hours Shared bathroom not en suite No where to hang you clothes Breakfast is continental Hard to get any communication through phone or emails And doesn't reply to Booking com on complaints No parking as there were horses boxes in the way Definitely won't be going back and not Value for Money
This is a very good location and very good place to stay! Right by Craig-y-nos Castle, National Showcaves Centre for Wales and more. It is also close to Henrhyd Falls and a short drive to both Swansea and the Brecon Beacons!
We thought we would be able to see the dogs and horses but there were no dogs etc around.
Location was pretty awesome in between stables and country side. Some river walks and waterfalls near by.
Room is pretty small and any one walking on floor above is clearly heard. So sleeping in night is bit difficult if there was part upstairs otherwise pretty good budget room for 4 members. Host is very much adjustable and communicating.
Large room with three beds, quiet and comfortable. Beautiful location for walking around in the hills, Sunday market and if you are fortunate enough to book a horse ride. Great local inns.
Central to activities we were doing.. Pen Y Fan etc
Place overall needed some love. Cupboards broken. No plates or bowls despite the microwave. Bins unempty and one bed unmade.
Location, value for money. Great comms too.

Beautiful area lots to do locally. We went horse riding with pentre riding stables up the mountains too which was absolutely incredible. Breakfast is not a cooked breakfast but continental selection brought to our room by the host. Room included fridge, tele, etc. There was a washing bowl to wash up in, not actual kitchen sink but that wasn't a problem. I'd read some reviews about it being noisy there but genuinely we didn't think it was at all, was always dead quiet by 9pm too.
Bit restrictive in the room being top floor with slanted roof, but it wasn't too much of a bother and we were already prepared for that too having seen other pictures and reviews.
Mattress on double bed in family room needs to be replaced. No parking available and had to park in a lay-by across the main road. Breakfast was basic with no jam for the bread and croissant provided. The owner never responded to questions re where to park when no availability even though the establishment advertises that there is free parking at the establishment
overall excellent
want to leave it blank because there’s nothing i can say ( i dont like it ) lol
I have been to Swansea before a few years ago and love the area. I honestly enjoyed my stay at Pentre Riding Stables. It was clean, had everything I needed, a fridge and microwave that came in handy, the bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. I met the owner and she was very welcoming and made me feel at home. I was even able to take my fur baby with me on my travels and he was allowed to stay. Thank you
Nothing much to say here as I feel everything was perfect. Maybe just need to know where to leave the poo bags if you are travelling with a dog.
De ontvangst was warm en hartelijk. Fijne kamers, goede bedden. Proper. Zeer goede ligging!
Very little
Low standards of quality and cleanliness. Very noisy animals late into the night and early in the morning.
It’s pretty close to the construction walkway, and the family room for four with a little kitchenette was actually quite handy.
The thing is, we were told right at the last minute that our original room wasn't available. Even though they found us another place, the electricity there was a bit of a headache—the power kept tripping whenever we tried to use the kettle and the microwave at the same time. There was no heating either... so while we managed to get through the stay, it wasn't the most comfortable experience, to be honest.
Warm
One towel supplied for 2 guests no toilet paper we paid extra for breakfast which was not supplied still awaiting a refund for this that we have requested for goods that were not supplied
Amazing place we really enjoyed our stay, we are looking forward to returning for a mountain hack in the summer. It was my children’s highlight of our trip. Friendly and welcoming with a beautiful location.
Accommodation has everything you need. Located on a lovely working farm. Perfect location to base yourself for a long weekend hiking in the Brecon Beacons.
Good sized clean room with everything we needed.
Nothing
Close to our event Crigar castle
The room was great. Better than expected. I had an issue with the heating that was my error but was helped to resolve quickly. The family room had a microwave, fridge and dining table which was great. Horse riding is offered too which is nice, I was planning to book it however my plans changed - maybe next time.
The only issue I had was there was lots of noise, I understand and appreciate that it is a working stables but the dogs were barking a lot! They quietened down a bit in the evening but still woke me up once or twice. The room only has a tiny sink in the bathroom so filling the kettle up there isn’t ideal, had to fill using a cup but not a big deal. All things considered I think it is really good accommodation for the price, quite nice seeing the horses go past the window. If you want an early night and you’re a light sleeper though the dogs and the fact it’s a working stables may bother you.
The room was spacious and clean, and all the amenities that I requested were provided. Would definitely book again, right opposite Craig y Nos, so we had beautiful walks yippie! I also met the new cleaner a few times, and she was lovely, very helpful and welcoming!!!
A microwave was said to be provided, and I couldn't find it... Not the end of the world as we borrowed the one from the next room, but still could be slightly better! Also, the TV couldn't connect to the internet and wasn't plugged into a satellite, but no bother as we just yapped.
Convenient location easy to find. Room well equipped and clean. Ideal for adult guests. I think this accommodation would be a great stopover in the warmer months when more of the local businesses are open.
Very limited parking. 1 bay per room so if someone else has parked in your bay you have to park on a busy main road which is not ideal with children. Advertised as bed & breakfast but there was no breakfast. Again not ideal with hungry children in the morning. Be aware that even though this is a working stables, if you book hoping to have any interaction with horses (unless you have a lesson or hack booked) the stables are strictly a no go area for guests due to health and safety - totally understandable but a little disappointing as a keen rider who would've liked to give them a fuss. The outside patio could've done with the litter removing from previous guests.
Nice to have fridge in room
Was on top floor in attic room & Tv wouldn’t work at all , couldn’t get WiFi to work , no water 1 morning apparently boiler was playing up was told it would be fixed soon but went out for day came back soaking wet & cold to find we had no hot water ! Was eventually fixed but lack of communication to tell us about boiler issues was poor
The view when there is no waste on the floor...
The owner said that we're not expected and our room wasn't ready. I have a reservation for 2 separate room because we're 3 and we didn't want to share a room and they put us in one room for a night cause it was the only one which is cleand (but it wasn't, there was dirty sanitary in the bin...) we accept to stay here for the night cause we didn't want to sleep in our car but it was bad.
Location. I lats came here 20 years ago for a horse ride in pouring rain. Staff were nice and helpful then, how things have changed
Got my name wrong. Gave me wrong WiFi password. WiFi didn't work at all. TV doesn't work. Sockets all poorly fitted. The ceiling is far too low. Cannot pee in toilet without banging head. Shower water flow constantly interrupted. Bed well worn and too soft. Second hand furniture from Craig Y Nos castle, but you can't sit in it because of the low ceiling. Cannot poop in toilet without amputating one or both of your legs. Shower gel nearly empty, just a millimetre or so in bottle. Not sure why it's called a B&B there is no food. Couldn't organise a simple horse ride despite being a stable.
Location was good Beds okay
Extra small bathroom couldn’t move in it very low ceilings had to ask for more towels no milk very steep stairs to room
Convenient location as we had a do across the road in Craig Y Nos
The heating wasn't working, it was pitch black arriving, we had to use torches on our phones. Renovations going on and all the building stuff was out the front, had to watch your step. We were given a heater and thank goodness we could leave it on a few hours before time to sleep. The tiny wash hand basin only meant we had to use cups to go back an forth to fill the kettle. Extractor in bathroom doesnt work and TV was hopeless, even after using our own batteries for the remote.
Nothing to say
Nothing to say
Location is spot on, nice and quiet..Room was like home from home ,no complaints from us....Karen the host made us feel welcome and at home..Fridge and microwave great idea, will definitely be back.A solid 10 out of 10
Liked everything
Location was great fir a wedding across the road
Entrance waa full of spiders and cob webs around the door areas
Family stayed here for my cousin’s wedding in Madame Patti’s castle. Stunning location and the all the family who stayed thought the facilities were amazing value for the price. Great communication by Management & would recommend to anyone visiting the area. I would love to stay when I revisit the area again
Perfect, no complaints
No breakfast available
Cleanliness, a lot of broken fixtures.
Perfect location, very friendly, lovely ride on the horses. Thank you
Karen is a wonderful host
The location is great. Beds were comfortable, friendly host. It's good value for money.
Warm welcome from the owner , Excellent room for my one night stay after a wedding in the local Castle , Great views and location . Highly recommended
No Problems
The location is perfect for walking.
Was very warm initially, but we adjusted the radiators and it was perfect.
The hosts were amazing
Nothing was wrong with it
Spacious clean room, comfy beds. Great value and perfect location for us to attend a wedding across the road.
No instructions about how to check in and no one to greet us. on arrival. Phone signal was poor but eventually I was able to call the host who was very kind and sorted us out. Quite noisy from animals (mostly dogs) on site.
Lovely property and family.
Beds were a tad too hard for me. (Personal choice)
Not much
I was moved to a different location 5 minutes drive away after my check in time. It was dirty, unfinished and had a random selection of stuff in the room including a micro sized fridge that was the same temperature as the room. Hair in the bed was an unwelcome highlight, as was the toothpaste in the sink.
Perfect location for a gentle weekend away from everything. It is a family run place ideal for a base while exploring the countryside.
The location Host was lovely
Although the list of facilities is long some of them were not useable ie the microwave. Didn’t have a glass plate and something had been burnt in the bottom. Toiletries should really have been for individual use not left over from previous guests.
The view and the location
Lack of communication re check in, bed settee and old mattress in double room instead of a bed, lack of proper door handle and lock on the "private" bathroom which was in the corridor, horse box taking up one of the parking spaces. TV not tuned in, so not available in the family room.
Room was clean, water was hot and good pressure
Property next-door that you could see out the window was perhaps a hoarder with junk all over the yard, inside the property was an old trailer with junk all over the yard. That was the view out the one window. Out the other window was a dog kennel with dogs yapping. Out front of the property was a derelict car with weeds growing up inside it. When checking out we couldn’t find the owner and had to yell out the back lot for help. We were promised a ground floor room due to our age and physical ability, but was given a second floor room-and a 71-year-old had to lug their suitcase up the stairs.
Lovely people, fantastic location. Very relaxed.
Lovely quaint property with excellent horse riding trails.
Nice location
Unfortunately the accommodation smelt awful and the towels smelt terrible. It was as if they had been left wet in the washing machine too long. Hence I couldn’t use them and was unable to have a shower.
So much fun! Took 3 kids here to the family room and for 2 hour pony trek. We had the best time! Room has fridge, microwave etc and comfy beds. The staff were so lovely, really kind and friendly. Lovely to hear the horses and see the yard in action too. Beds were comfy, it was clean and we had everything we needed.
The loo was a bit wonky but they were sorting it out and there was another bathroom we could use
Wonderful staff, very friendly. The room was very spacious, although it does have a partially sloped ceiling, which could be problematic for some. The bed was fairly comfortable, everything was quite clean. We also booked one of their riding experiences, which was really perfect.
The bathroom was quite cramped, but that was because of the limited width of the attic in the building. Because it is on a working stable, it was rather aromatic, if you're not a fan of the lingering odour of horses and their associated smells, it might not be a good choice for you.
Location was lovely, room was very clean and although the bathroom wasn't in the room you had your own key to the bathroom along the hall. Perfect location for scenic walks. Views from property are gorgeous. Riding stables so you can expect some noise, was fantastic watching the horses and the work going on in the fields.
Parking is a bit hit and miss.
