A nice and quiet place near the center of Panauti. The host is welcoming and kind. He told me many interesting things about Panauti and women's communities and fed me a delicious breakfast he prepared himself. He's always willing to help in a difficult situation. In the morning I forgot the raincoat in my room and forgot to return the key to him. He came and picked me up on his motorcycle, drove me to the hotel, and then back to the road, where he helped me catch up with my daughter, who had gone to the Namobuddha monastery. I highly recommend this place.
Gentilezza e disponibilità del personale
The owners are amazing! And I loved the breakfast they cooked for me, really yummy! There's also an amazing rooftop where you can enjoy the sunset.
Just the shower on the balcony is not the most comfortable thing ever (if you select the room with shared bathroom).
Je suis contente d’avoir contribué à l’économie communautaire
La longue attente de communication de l'hôte, le rabâchage commercial, les WC qui sentent mauvais, la qualité et le prix du repas fait maison
Great stay, helpful and welcoming , convenient location and facilities,
Shila and her entire family are truly wonderful. They made us feel like part of the family, with such warmth and care. After a fun cooking workshop with Shila and her sister, we made an Israeli breakfast together — they were genuinely moved and excited. Shila helped us with shopping, shared great local tips, and sat with us to explain everything we wanted to know about Nepal.
Shila was very kind and available for everything, the room was clean and ok. I recommend it for everyone intending to visit Panauti!
There must be a reason for it, but in the cabinet drain of the bathroom there was a paraffin pill that was giving off a strong smell of chemicals, we just put it outside the room for the night and put it back when leaving, so not really a problem :D
Panauti, a must experience quaint community located near Kathmandu (about45 minutes drive from the airport). At Shila/Ashok's Community Holiday Inn, I woke up well rested in a comfortable room, set up with in-room bathroom. The carpeted floors solved my biggest issues with travels in South Asia, which are cold feet in hotel rooms where flooring is stone. A kittchen equipped with a kettle and a gas stove with two burners, pots and utensils had plenty of good quality Nepali teas and coffee to start the morning right. You can arrange with Shila/Ashok for a full breakfast at an incredibly reasonable price. As they tell me, the Community Holiday Inn was theirs as a pilot initiative and now provides for many households who follow strict guidelines to meet western standards so to provide a worry free stay. All of them are run by the housewives, empowering local women and by attracting tourists to the region benefits many households and businesses alike. The project also boasts of a new restaurant which provides authentic Newari cuisine and ambience. Guidelines for meeting tourists needs and standards is advised by Ashok, who had 16 years experience as a Chief Experience Officer with GAdventures, a company I have personally travelled with five times and never fails to impress with their high standards and resourceful staff. Ashok has led over seventy expeditions to Everest Base Camp for GAventures and also to other locations in Nepal and Bhutan. I was lucky he was in town when I visited Panauti and learned lots about Nepal and South Asia travels. Shila ensures the Community Homestay runs like clockwork, ensuring guests are comfortable, their needs are met and the facility is clean, well stocked an equipped at all times. Her long term experience in hospitality and entrepreneurial drive has benefited her household, community and tourists alike. Attention to detail is key.
I didnt like having to leave
The communication with the host was lovely, she ask about your needs and try to fulfill them.
Sila is a wonderful host, alongside being at the initiative of this beautiful community project of families hosting houses, managed by the women. Thanks to that project, you get to stay in local houses for such a fair price, good hygiene and comfort, fresh and local food, all that while sustaining the community economy! Love it!! And for anything, you can ask Sila, who will totally make her best to help you in whatever you need and within her possibilities (we arrived as a 11 people group, at last minute after a change of plans and she managed lodging, transports, local guide, restaurant booking -as it was a festival time- all within a couple of hours!!). Huge thanks to Sila. Totally recommended
I had a wonderful stay at Sila’s place. Beautiful views, laidback atmosphere, roof terrace, clean bathroom,.. it was perfect! Sila was very helpful and made some great breakfast. I felt at home immediately and will come back for sure. The temple complex and green surroundings made for a perfect getaway from Kathmandu.
Close to everything, but quiet
Town
Shila was the perfect host, she welcomed us and was full of useful information! She even let us leave our bags with her whilst we went on a 2 day hike. So attentive & kind 😊
Nice and comfortable accomodation, quiet and pieceful. Shila and Ashok are wonderful hosts in Panauti and will help with everything you need. Shila is a great chef and so we could eat together super delicious traditional meals. Ashok is working as a guide too and it was very interesting and helpful to talk to him about our trekking programs. 24h hot shower guaranteed and perfect stay for few days just to relax and maybe do some day hiking. Thank you again for everything.
Everything fine.
