Country Getaway House

Perfect property for our Golden Retriever to run around and be free. Incredible hosts and jacuzzi was a big bonus.

It was so homely. Mark and Christine were so lovely & hospitable.

Nothing, we loved eveything single thing.

Mark and Christine was very friendly, and took us in on short notice. We got a beer when we arrived, and we made breakfast with them in the morning. They also gave us tips for our further travels:)

Home away from home, wonderful hosts and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Highly recommend a stay.

We had a wonderful family time with our grandkids and our dog😊 The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay. Mark and Christine were very flexible with check in and check out times and very generous. The view and the grounds were amazing. A very special rural atmosphere. We loved it

We were a group of 6 adult friends and needed a one night stay when travelling between the Bay of Islands to the Bay of Plenty. We were all nervous about staying in a house with the owners but as soon as we met Mark and Christine, they made us feel so welcome and at home that by the time we left the next day we felt like family. They're house is beautiful and so is the view out over the surrounding Farmland. We'd definitely make Country Getaway House a stopover if we ever return to NZ.

There was nothing not to like about Country Getaway House, It's so peaceful and quiet.

Our hosts were very kind and helpful. We immediately felt comfortable. The room was very cozy and we had a lovely stay! The environment is very relaxing surrounded by a lot of nature and you hear the wind and the birds chirping!

Sehr nette Vermieter, die uns das Haus während ihrer Abwesenheit anvertraut haben. Das Haus ist riesig groß und steht mitten im wunderschönen Auenland. Die Ausstattung ist immens, wir durften alle Utensilien nutzen und das Haus zu unserem Zuhause machen.

Für mich hätte es noch sauberer sein können, aber das war vollkommend ausreichend, so wie es war :-)

We loved the location and the welcome we received from our hosts was quite exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble and we thoroughly enjoyed our time spent with them.

The location was beautiful and it was a quiet, peaceful setting.

We were a little disappointed by our stay with Mark and Christine. When booking the house we read reviews and from this and the price of the stay we expected either dinner or breakfast to be provided, but it wasn't. We also communicated with the hosts that we'd like to have a cosy night in and Christine said the fire would be going, but it wasn't and I had to ask later when she returned home. We weren't made to feel all that welcome, though they did head out for the evening which we appreciated because it is very much sharing their home (kitchen, living space, bathroom). The mattresses were very soft and the wifi was patchy. They hadn't checked that there would be enough gas in the cylinders so we had to call the hosts who did get gas for us thankfully. The communication about what should be expected from the stay needs to be much clearer. Is dinner or breakfast included? Is the spa bath working? Should guests expect to be eating, relaxing alongside their hosts or will some privacy be provided? I think there needs to be consistency in what you can expect from the stay.

A hidden gem in the middle of beautiful countryside. The hosts were very flexible, we had delayed flights. The house is amazing, has everything you need…. and then some..

Located in pretty, tranquil countryside, the house has a wonderful view. Marvellously quiet! Mark and Christine are true-blue Kiwis: kindly, generous, welcoming and interesting to talk to. I wish they lived next door to us!

Tout était parfait, trés grande maison familiale, trés bien équipé, trés bon rapport Qualité/Prix, Trés belle vue sur la vallée, Spa exterieur trés agréable, propriétaires aimables et serviables.

Very peaceful, beautiful location to get away from the city noise. Plenty of room inside and outside for kids (and dog) to run around. Felt like staying at your grandparents house…just help yourself to whatever you need! :)

Perfect for our family of 5. Hosts were super lovely and couldn’t be more accommodating. Comfortable beds and hosts went above & beyond.

Absolutely adored Christine and Mark. Beautiful house with a gorgeous view. Felt right at home. A yummy dinner and breakfast were made for us. We were able to do our washing, which was a huge bonus for us. Our 8 month old was so comfortable and Christine gifted her with one of her stunning hand knitted jumpers. Will definitely be booking again next time we're in the area. Absolutely loved everything, the hospitality was outstanding.

Host stays in the house together. In my case, it was not bad. I had a good conversation with host. But I would say that every guest will not be comfortable.

Warm, friendly hosts. Beautiful location. Yummy, surprise breakfast. It truly felt like we were guests in someone's home.

We had 3 in a Super King bed (2 adults and a baby) and it was a little too soft for our liking. A small complaint, as we were all exhausted and slept through the night!

It was like staying with family. We felt home. Thanks again Mark and Christine.

Mark and Christine were very hospitable and welcoming it was like staying with family.

Nothing to dislike.

1. Generous Hosting: The property is the owner’s home, but since we booked for seven people, they kindly left the house for us and even allowed us to use an extra ensuite room. 2. Great Amenities: • A relaxing jacuzzi. • A Nespresso machine with milk provided, which was a thoughtful touch. • A user-friendly fireplace that worked with just a few button clicks. 3. Easy Check-In: The self-check-in process was smooth, making it convenient for us to arrive late at night without any issues. 4. Great Value: The property offered incredible value for the price we paid, with all these amenities and comforts included.

Bed is a bit soft to my personal liking but all my other friends felt that it was good enough.

Location is pretty

The property was misrepresented in the ad. The owners were constantly using the tv, kitchen, lounge & dining area as their own living space so they could not be enjoyed by us. Those spaces were untidy and inaccessible on our arrival at 6pm. We felt we had intruded. Their TV blared until 11.30pm which we heard in our rooms next door despite asking them to turn it down at 8.30. It is a bedroom and bathroom only. This listing must be altered.
