Nothing
Oasis on end of peninsula. Staff great and sourced all food we requested
Pool not clean. Really wanted to swim. They did clorinate it when we arrived😊
Its mor like a homestay treated as their family. Home cooking food . Very friendlt staff.
Grote ruime kamer
Erg gehorig hotel.
Clean room
Sehr freundliches Personal, gute Küche!
● Friendly and helpful staff. ● Situated near the edge of Talaimannar. ● Spacious family rooms and comfortable bedding. ● Good WiFi coverage. ● Adequate parking lot. ● Clean water pool, well-maintained. ● Tasty and quality food, (one large portion was adequate for 3 persons)
Need more improvement. ● No phone /communication facility in the rooms. ● Not functioning TV (even after requesting) ● Small capacity air conditioner in the room. ● No hot water facilities in the bathroom. ● No tea-making facility in the room (only an electric kettle, nothing else) ● The pool had no towels (even after requesting)
The staff was great, Absolutely happy to help with anything
Just a little attention to detail is needed, But you can see they are really trying to make it a great stay
The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was amazing. We will be back here again.
I stayed there for a couple of nights. The place is new and clean, at that time it was not even completely open. Neighborhood is quite. I really liked swimming pool. Personnel of the hotel was really nice, especially I liked the food. If you are traveling by bus, the bus stop is just outside the hotel, so you can easily get to Mannar bus station
Nice, Clean and spacious rooms. The hosts was very welcoming and ensured our needs were met. We enjoyed ourselves here and recommend it for anyone visiting the area. Great food made to order...
Staff friendly, food excellent, facilities good.
Everyone was so kind, helpful and friendly. The rooms were meticulous and spacious with a pool to swim in and yummy traditional local cuisine to eat.
Nothing. Everything was amazing.
The rooms were so clean and the colour palette that was chosen was aesthetically pleasing too. They had just built this hotel and it's still been built so we imagine after all it's done, it'll be a place guests will love to stay at. It's one of the better hotels in Mannar.
The only issue was that it's in Talaimannar and 30 minutes to Mannar town itself so you would need a vehicle. Also, I wish there was tea or coffee in the room. There was a kettle but there wasn't any tea or coffee available in the rooms and having that would have been a big plus for them. The resturant is also still been built so once it open, I hope they provide western and local cuisine for the guests like Agape does. Also wish there was a blanket in the room as the sheet wasn't sufficient.
New rooms - cold drink service Great pool Generous Tamil breakfast Bike rental - perfect to see local sights Local bus stops in front of the property - very nice staff to facilitate my onward journey Was able to leave my things in the room for a bit longer which made it easier and smooth with the short time available
Need to arrange transport from the train station prior to arrival - no TukTuks around late. I got picked up by motorbike (thanks to facilitation by kind staff at the station as I had no network/mobile data).
Clean, well equipped, modern hotel with great facilities.
It's located in a run down, out of the way part of Talaimannar.
Clean, fresh, cared for. Everything worked. The staff are fantastic and Niro will provide suggestions for everything including what to see and where to eat. His restaurant recommendation gave us the best meal yet in Sri Lanka which is down near the Dutch Fort in Mannar. We had the chicken fried rice, chilli beef and ghee roti. Ice cream to finish! Loved it! They also filter their own water and provide it free to stay clear of single use plastic.
Would like a small table and chairs in the room but they may have provided it anyway had we asked.
Great welcome, clean and spacious rooms, new resort, warmhearted family business on a high level, tasty and authentic kitchen. Locals from Colombo are spending their holidays here. Great nature around and historical sights in 10min car drive close by.
it was great.
The breakfast and dinner were excellent. The swimming pool was lovely too. The owner was so incredibly helpful, he could not do enough to make our stay informative and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend The Sanctum.
Cannot think of anything.
We had the best stay at the Sanctum. We came for Kitesurfing on a whim as didn’t know what the spot would be like or any infrastructure related to kitesurfing. Niro very quickly organised a tractor to take us to the windiest spot, which blowed about 5 knots more than kaliptya every day (we didn’t know this before going) as well as a lunch package to eat out at the spot. The spot was world class with consistent wind blowing 6 days out of 7 (in January). Niro and all at the hotel went above and beyond to say yes to every request. The food was great every day and so much of it and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend the sanctum to anyone coming to Sri Lanka to kitesurf (or anything else). Thanks to Niro and all at the sanctum for such an epic stay!
Epic spot all round. Came to talaimannar for kitesurfing and the spot was a lil trip north of the hotel. Niro pulled a couple strings to get us out to there on a tractor loaded with our gear and food to last us the day. Epic service, real friendly staff and the food was mint. We were always well feed every sitting 👌🏽
I don't really have anything i disliked about the Sanctum. The place is still in the process of being built, which seems difficult considering the infrastructure in Sri lanka. Givin time, i think the Sanctum will be an all-time spot once there are social areas and the rooftop built and ready for guests. Still a premo spot.
Good time to visit as not yet finished and you get useful attention from the owner. Will probably be more expensive when it’s all up and running.
Siting of electrical switches (including by shower in bathroom).
The property was managed well, by a very enthusiastic owner who is hands on. Interacted well with the guests and supported us with sightseeing and the excursions.
Meals require quite a bit of advance notice, hopefully they could do better once construction of the kitchen/ restaurant is completed.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Great customer service
Food was really good
Nothing to mention
Brand new, fresh, polite staffs and spot on.
Nothing
It is still a work in progress as it only opened in Oct 24, but the rooms we had were excellent, clean and comfortable one of the best showers. We had dinner which was lovely homemade and a feast of local cuisine. They could not have been more helpful and friendly it was just lovely.
Nothing - it isn’t finished but I’d love to return when it is
The place was so comfortable and relaxing. Would have loved to stay longer if time permitted. Luxury for affordable price. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were lovely and comfortable and AC worked perfectly. The pool was clean as everything else. To top it up it was an awesome location with delicious meals.
Everything was perfect
Big room with good Ac and fans, and friendly worker and owner there, you will have an amazing trip during stay there. It’s worth to choosing here with a reasonable price. And the aunty in this hotel they cooking master food! Best food ever had in Sri Lanka. It’s tasty and fresh sea food. The location is bit far but you can enjoy with sunset in the beach near the Adam/ Rama bridge. Sea water is salty but this hotel is very sweet! Will come back again for holidays enjoying.
Very nice and welcoming owner/manager. Clean room with AC and fan, free water and tea. Fair price for the Sri Lankan dinner and breakfast (1500 Rupies each, photos attached). It was the first breakfast I had without toast/bread and jam, which felt more authentic then other places. The owner gave me a small tour around Talaimannar and even tried to arrange a trip to one of the island (which had to be cancelled due to weather). Even though the main building of the hotel (reception and dinner / breakfast area) was still under construction it didnt really affect my stay: Check in was done online and dinner was held in one of the unused rooms. Because of the ongoing construction work, there was not as much staff around, so the owner could show me around by himself. I guess this will change once the place opens completly, so this review may not represent your stay. Apart from the beaches there isn't to much going on there. I liked it, because it is not as overrun by tourist and it looks more like the real Sri Lanka around this place.
Workmanship of the bathroom was not too great, couldn't really close the door (photo attached) and the shower faucet already had rust (photo attached) on it (although the place wasn't very old).
