Lo primero Putra es un anfitrion magnifico. El sitio estaba lejos de todo ruido (menos el millon de gallos que empiezan a cantar a las 4 am) y es una zona que aunque las carreteras son regulares es preciosa. Las motos de alquiler del mismo homestay estan bien de precio y en buenas condiciones

No hay agua caliente y en esa zona de Bali no hace calor precisamente. Tampoco hay aire acondicionado pero no se necesita. Para ir al baño hay que salir de la habitación y bajar escaleras. El suelo del baño son piedras sueltas. En la habitación no habia un solo mueble donde dejar cosas, ni si quiera una mesilla.

The Homestay is in a small village, surrounded by nature and super close to the most beautiful ricefields in Bali. It is also very close to the shortest starting pointo to hike up Mt. Agung. The hosts, Ratna and Putra, along with their son (will not say his name here) and the rest of the family, are absolutely lovely people with good values, who will make you feel like home and will always try to help you with anything. The food is simply delicious and the room is very comfortable. Don't think it twice, book a couple of nights (or more!) here and spend some time with this beautiful family. You won't regret it!

Les hôtes sont très accueillants. J'ai assisté à une cremation grâce à eux et ai fait de très belles visites de la jolie région ainsi que du village avec Putra. Ils se sont occupés de mon transfert vers Sidemen. Le logement lui-même est assez rudimentaire mais l'accueil humain compense.

J’ai séjourné chez Putra, Ratna et leur fils Wikan, et c’est sans hésiter l’un de mes meilleurs souvenirs à Bali. Si vous cherchez une grande villa avec piscine, passez votre chemin. En revanche, si vous avez envie de découvrir Bali de manière authentique, d’être accueilli comme un invité plutôt que comme un simple client, alors je ne peux que vous recommander Wikan House. La maison est confortable, très calme, toujours impeccable et entourée de nature. Chaque matin, le petit-déjeuner est préparé avec soin, mais ce qui fait vraiment la différence, c’est la famille. Putra et Ratna sont d’une gentillesse rare, toujours prêts à partager un conseil, une discussion ou un sourire. Au-delà d’un logement, c’est une véritable rencontre. Plusieurs années après mon premier séjour, je suis toujours en contact avec eux. C’est le genre d’endroit qui donne envie de revenir à Bali. Si vous hésitez entre une villa impersonnelle et une homestay, choisissez l’expérience humaine. C’est souvent ce dont on se souvient le plus en rentrant de voyage. C’est toujours ici que je dors lorsque je suis de passage dans la région de Karangasem.

Wikan homestay is managed by the delightful couple, ratna and putra. They are gracious hosts, and are kind, welcoming and intentional. I loved learning about their culture and swapping perspectives with them. Putra makes wonderful breakfasts, which is something to look forward to. The place grows on you, although i would say - you have to truly want to experience a balinese living, to be able to stay here. It most certainly is in the center of a village.

They did not have hot water during my stay, and at best it was lukewarm.

When we were leaving your house we got truly sad, to the point we kinda cried in the bike. It was amazing how welcomed you made us feel, not only you two but your whole family. I was so grateful that we choose to stay there, it was one of the best parts of my trip in Indonesia! Thank you so much! For all the travelers in doubt where to stay Wikan's house is perfect! Putra and Radna will treat you with so much love and care that you feel truly relaxed. The breakfast was amazing, by far the best one we had in all our stays! The bed was comfortable, the place was so green, the village is quiet but very close to big cities, Radna is so sweet and I loved talking to her! They made sure we knew where to go and even helped us sharing a few not so famous locations! They offer dinner (you pay a part) and the food is so amazingly good!!!! I miss mama, papa, and the kids as well. When I'm back in Indonesia I will make sure to stay there for a longer period of time! Thank you so much for our stay!

When I first arrived, I was in shock and wanted to give this place a 3-star rating, but with each passing day, I mentally added one more star. In the end, I stayed there for 6 days and didn't want to leave. It was an absolute relaxation, thanks to the stunning natural surroundings, the tranquility, and the wonderful hosts. It was like a rehab from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Ratna and Putra thanks for all!!!

True Balinese hospitality in every sense. The host welcome you into their family home and treat you as friends. Putra, the host, has family ties to the small village for generations and is passionate about sharing the history and culture of traditional Bali life - his tour around the village and through the communal rice fields has been a highlight of our travels. Wonderful experience!

you stay inside the family compound & they are the most welcoming people ever. There are a couple of walks you can do, firstly to Samsara (Living Museum) & the Raya honey farm. Both take you through small villages with endless smiling faces, running streams & towering trees. It soothes the soul.

Nous avons passés deux jours à la Wikan House. Autant dire que nous ne sommes pas prêts d’oublier ce moment. Malgré le temps un peu capricieux, nous avons réussi à faire ce que nous voulions faire. Putra, l’hôte de la maison a été d’une gentillesse incroyable. Nous avons pu louer un scooter à la journée pour pouvoir nous déplacer. Nous avons également mangé sur place, les plats préparés par la femme de Putra sont juste incroyable. Nous étions en difficulté pour pouvoir nous rendre au port pour prendre le bateau et Putra nous a gentillement accompagnés. De même lorsque nous avons demandés s’il y avait une lingerie dans le coin pour pouvoir laver nos vêtements, Putra s’est occupé de tout et nous avons pu avoir des vêtements propres. Pour ce qui est du logement, vous logerai dans un ancien temple, tout le confort y est. La douche se trouve à l’extérieur, très facile d’accès. Juste merci à Putra et sa famille pour cet accueil des plus chaleureux. Un endroit à visiter sans hésiter. Ils méritent plus de visibilité. Un grand merci à vous !

A really beautiful, calming place that stays with you. It felt so peaceful, exactly what we needed. Putra and Ratna’s family were genuinely kind and welcoming, and hearing their stories gave the stay a deeper, more authentic feeling. The home cooked meals were a highlight, absolutely delicious. A warm, memorable place we’ll always remember.

Even if we stayed only for a night, it was the highlight of the whole trip. Putra took us for a trek around the rice field and through the village and he explained to us so much about the life there and the culture. Staying with the family and seeing the people life in the village was really the best experience in Bali. Also, Putra and Ratna are great cooks, all the meals were yummy!

Un luogo che permette di immergersi nella vera essenza balinese. Un sentito ringraziamento a Putra e alla sua famiglia, che con sorrisi sinceri e gentilezza aprono le porte nella loro quotidianità: la passeggiata tra le risaie é stata un’esperienza splendida, che si é conclusa con alcuni assaggi di prodotti locali di loro produzione; le cene preparate dalla moglie sono state deliziose. Persone semplici e genuine che ti accolgono con calore. Posizione non centrale ma comoda, che permette con uno scooter (noleggiabile anche in loco) di esplorare le aree circostanti.

Accueil incroyable par une petite famille adorable. On peut louer un scooter sur place. Ils nous recommande les activités à faire autour, nous on amenés voir une répétition de musique dans le quartier, c'était génial, on a vraiment pu discuter avec les habitants. Le petit déjeuner était excellent, nous avons donc mangé plusieurs fois par jour les succulents plats préparés par les hôtes. La chambre est comme un petit temple. L'eau était chaude dans la salle de bain extérieure. Très agréable de manger sur cette grande terrasse. Séjour authentique qui nous a beaucoup plu. Le rapport/qualité/prix est le plus imbattable de notre voyage. Merci beaucoup 😙.

C'était parfait, juste peut être mettre des moustiquaires aux fenêtres comme cela on peut les laisser ouvertes, ou bien un moustiquaire au-dessus du lit.

Nous sommes restés deux jours avec cette famille si exceptionnelle, attachante, authentique !!! Les mots ne pourront jamais exprimer ce que nous avons vécu ! Il faut venir pour le vivre. Le meilleur endroit si vous souhaitez connaître les vrais balinais. Merci mille fois et a bientôt j'espère !

房东两夫妇非常热情，从我们入住到离开，全程有求必应。他们提供丰盛的欢迎饮料，并且在接待我们的过程当中给了我们非常多非常详细的有用的旅行信息。女房东非常健谈，跟我们的互动也非常的友好。整个民宿的小庭院布置的非常精致，不管是花园还是房间内部都干净整洁。值得称道的是，浴室的淋浴系统非常优秀。有24小时的热水用于洗澡，而且水量还非常大。早餐也非常丰富，虽然我们只在这个民宿待了一个晚上，但是整个体验非常优秀。

Tutto, Putra e la sua famiglia son tutto ciò che una qualsiasi persona possa desiderare quando viene a Bali, qua siamo riusciti a respirare la vera natura Balinese, Putra ci ha portati alle sue risaie a vedere come funzionano le risaie, ci è venuto a prendere all’aeroporto e ci ha portati in qualsiasi posto desiderassimo visitare, insieme a lui abbiamo messo giù un planning perfetto grazie al quale siamo riusciti a vedere tutto il possibile. La cena è la colazione fatte in casa da sua moglie son state veramente eccezionali. Insomma consiglio questo posto a qualsiasi persona voglia capire cos’è la vera Bali.

I was welcomed like a member of their family, and I truly felt their warmth. They kindly explained so much about Balinese culture and religion in detail. Putra, the host, speaks English, Japanese, and German fluently it’s really impressive! The food was also absolutely amazing. I am just filled with gratitude. I was able to experience the local side of Bali and meet such kind and wonderful people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I had the best time in Wikan house with Putra and Ratna. They are very friendly and always ready to help with your planning and trying to make your experience there the best they can. Putra showed me the surroundings with all his knowledge about the cutlure and local fauna and flora. When I came back after two weeks he also helped me to organize a hiking trip to Gunung Agung. And the food that you can order here is exceptional.

Ratna, Putra, les enfants et les grands parents sont une famille d’une gentillesse extraordinaire, qui mettent tout en œuvre pour faire de votre séjour chez eux une réussite ! Nous les remercions du fond du cœur, nous sommes pas prêt d’oublier cette famille très attachante qui nous a fait découvrir leur culture dans une région magnifique ! Nous nous sommes senti comme chez nous ! La chambre ainsi que la salle de bain étaient très propre et authentique dans un joli temple ! Grace à Putra, nous avons passé une journée découverte exceptionnelle et très dense, il a mit tout en œuvre pour que nous puissions réaliser notre programme qui était très chargé (village, école, apiculteur, fabrication de bijoux en argent et temple) et il nous a accompagné à découvrir ses lieux et traditions! Ils proposent également un service de restauration avec des plats locaux variés et excellent pour le petit déjeuner, le midi et le soir !👌 Ce que nous retiendrons surtout c’est leur grand cœur, leurs sourires et les moments de simplicité passés avec eux ! Soggiornare presso questo host è un'esperienza di vita e un' immersione nella vera vita balinese. Putra e sua moglie sono due persone splendide che ci hanno fatto sentire a casa e hanno fatto il loro meglio per rendere il nostro soggiorno indimenticabile. La casa si trova in una posizione preferenziale, lontana dal turismo di massa e vicino a piccoli villaggi ancora incontaminati. Se avete la possibilità, fatevi guidare da Putra alla scoperta dell'isola degli dei tra le meravigliose piantagioni di riso, alberi di salak, la cultura e la religione di Bali. Grazie a Putra abbiamo conosciuto anche piccole realtà della zona come l'azienda che produce miele con api senza pungiglione e abbiamo vissuto momenti indimenticabili come il rito di purificazione nella casa del sacerdote locale. Consigliamo inoltre il trekking tra le risaie per il paesaggio e le spiegazioni sulle piante autoctone. Essere guidati da Putra è stato come passeggiare con un amico. La moglie di Putra è inoltre una cuoca eccezionale, abbiamo mangiato benissimo, piatti indimenticabili. Lei inoltre è una persona molto colta che risponderà a tutte le vostre domande e curiosità sulla vita e la cultura di Bali. Consigliamo altamente di soggiornare presso di loro se volete vivere la vera isola degli Dei!

I've had such an amazing time here. Cannot recommend it enough. The people are so lovely, helpful and kind. Not because they want your money, but because they are actually good people. Putra has shown me around the area and learned me such much about the Bali culture and Hinduism. The food is the best I've had. If you ever have the chance to stay here, do it! You won't regret it.

It's Perfect! they treat you like family, it's the perfect place to experience Bali, the surroundings are very beautiful (rice terraces, mount Agung...) The food there is delicious! They are very kind and will help you organize your day or recommend places nearby!

An absolute must for every one that want to learn more about Bali and hindoeïsme. Putra is an extremely nice guy that can tell you everything about the culture , tempels and all other questions you might have. Also he is a very good cook. I will definitely come back to this place to spend more days at Wikan house

Wow! I wish I could give 20/10 for my stay at Wikan House! This was the highlight of my time in Bali so far (and it will definitely be hard to beat). I absolutely loved spending time here with Putra and Ratna and their family. I am still amazed at everything I experienced. They were so welcoming and hospitable and full of knowledge. It was easy to get along and talk. I learnt so much about the traditions and way of life, as well as about Hinduism, plants, agriculture, history, food and more. Putra is incredibly knowledgeable and funny, and his English is really good. And he even knows German and quite a few other languages! We practiced some German together and I was then greeted in German mornings and evenings. Ratna also knows so much and I felt so lucky to be able to learn and share with them their traditions. She showed me how to prepare canang and I felt really fortunate to be welcomed to join in the family's Saraswati ceremony. Ratna helped to dress me for the ceremony and gave explanations throughout. It helped me feel comfortable and welcome and I didn't feel at all out of place. It was also a special welcome for me to walk a loop with Putra in the forest and to the rice fields. This was an awesome introduction and blew me away, with the knowledge and views, and meeting his aunt and extended family too. I loved visiting some of the places around Karangasem. Wikan House was always happy to organise a trip and take me to where I wanted to go and also making some special suggestions along the way. All with the extra benefit of Putra and Ratna answering my questions and telling me all about the things we saw. Even though it was stormy, I was able to see a lot and the rain didn't get in the way of my visit. And I can't forget the food! Every meal I had at Wikan House was so delicious. And it was all cooked by Putra or his mum! It is also the most flavoursome and best food I've had in Bali. Everything about my stay was lovely.

I had the warmest welcome from Putra and Ratna in their family compound surrounded by plants and trees in the quiet village of Macang near Bebandem. I wanted to be part of Balinese life and Putra and Ratna included me and were kind, caring and thoughtful always available to provide anything I wanted. They are knowledgeable on plants, animals, Balinese history and traditions and speak excellent English and Putra also speaks Japanese, German and a little French and Italian. They are good cooks and I had delicious breakfasts and dinners and could have had meals or drinks whenever I wanted. My room was attractive and a good size with a comfortable under-cover sitting area outside with lots of plants, where I had my meals and read etc and although it was at the side of the building I didn't feel cut off from what was going on with the family who were respectful of my privacy but available for an interesting chat if I wanted company. The double bed was really comfortable and there was a fan if I'd needed it. My private shower room/toilet was outside, there was plenty of hot water for the shower and they had provided everything you could want. The wi-fi was excellent. Putra took me to interesting places on foot, on the back of his scooter and in the car and also to the airport at the end of my stay - always for a very reasonable price. I had a great time at Wikan House and was sad to leave.

During our honeymoon trip, my husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Wican House. We were warmly welcomed by Putra and his family, who made us feel right at home with their kindness and hospitality. If you ask Putra to take you around the surroundings, he will show you the most characteristic places of his land, sharing the rich traditions and the history of the Indonesian people along the way. Let Putra and his wife cook dinner for you, they are truly skilled and thoughtful chefs. We felt completely immersed in an authentic Balinese experience, welcomed into a family. We are immensely grateful for this stop, which was not just a stay in a room but a life-changing experience.

The family were so welcoming, I had the best day walking around the village and sight seeing on the scooter. The meals were absolutely delicious. I couldn't have asked for more. I plan on coming back to Bali just to stay at Wikan House again. This was my first solo travel and I was nervous and tired. Staying here was absolutely amazing.

Nice couple that genuinely were hospitable in guests needs. Great communication & very proficient in English language . They helped me learn how to google map off line as I had no local Sim.

Being at Wikan House means to immerse yourself in an authentic Balinese setting. Putra and his family were very friendly and available - they helped us deciding our itinerary in the East of Bali and provided us with a scooter to go around the area. It was very nice spending time with them cooking dinner and chatting. It’s the perfect solution for who likes tranquillity and more local and authentic experiences.

The room outside is a typical building, staying there is so beautiful and even exciting. The bathroom is outside just next to the room and is open, but we found it particular and it was clean and perfectly working. The breakfast was really really good and the portions were perfect. Also we had the chance to have dinner there (it’s not included but you can have it) and that was so good and abundant too. We also had a beautiful daily tour with the host and he was so friendly, helpful and explained everything to us. Most of all, we enjoyed the hosts: an amazing kind and friendly and helpful and genuine couple that made our stay even better. If you are looking for something in this area, come here! You’re not gonna regret!

The staff was very kind and welcoming and helpful, the terrace was wonderful, dinner and breakfast were good! Putru was so kind to organise our transfer to our following destination as we were having problems doing it ourselves. Very good value for money

I stayed at Wikan House for 5 days as a solo female traveller. Putra and Ratna were amazing hosts ! First of all the house and garden is beautiful, you are surrounded by their family farm, rice fields and nature. They welcome you into the family as a member and you feel very comfortable there. Putra very kindly acted as my tour guide and drove me to see various tourist attractions about which he knew alot, both he and Ratna speak very good english and are very knowledgeable, i learned so much about balinese culture and their traditions. Their whole family is full of kind and generous people, and their son and niece are adorable :) The outdoor shower is so peaceful and had hot water and everything is very clean. Room was quiet and has a private patio area, you were also given fresh drinking water every morning. Breakfast is amazing, i loved the fried banana especially! I have a vegan diet and Ratna and Putra changed the meals so they would fit my diet, they were very tasty and not expensive! This homestay is a must book for anyone who wants to explore real bali away from tourists and integrate themselves into a beautiful balinese family for a few nights.

I'm very grateful that I could experience the real Balinese life at Wikan house. It is a rare opportunity to spend time with traditional local people who speaks english well. Putra, Ratna and their lovely family were extremely kind with me. They are also amazing cooks. I highly recommend this place for travellers who want to stay in an authentic, honest place.

Wikan House is amazing! First of all, the moment I was led to my room, I was stunned by the exterior decorations of the room, and every time I walk back from the toilet, I feel like I live in a temple and that's really a nice and special experience for me. Putra and Ratna is super friendly and helpful, they can share with you everything you want to know about Bali, and also there are quite a lot nice places to visit in that area, ex. Samsara living museum, Puri Agung Karangasem, Virgin beach, etc. and they can arrange the trip for you as you want. What I'm still craving for is the chicken Koloke I had for the dinner, it's super tasty and it's the best meal for me during my 3-week visit in Bali!I had a really great time there and I feel so lucky to have this chance to stay there!

This hotel was absolutely unique in the host's approach. They make you feel like a member of the family, you get to see the real life of the Balinese, they take you on a walk around the village, you talk about customs, see family ceremonies etc. So if you are looking for an authentic experience, this accommodation is for you. This has been one of the best places we have been to in Bali. The host family is very friendly and always willing to help. They make you feel at home. The outside of the room looks like a palace, it is very clean and comfortable. They also offer Indonesian food and it is delicious. Location is key to visiting the temples of East Bali.

The only thing that would improve would be to have hot water in the bathroom shower.

Exceptional stay!! The family is always there for you to have a pleasant stay. They help you whenever they can. Had great talks and they explained a lot about their culture and living. Your are in between the whole family :) Great fresh fruits and food!

If you’d like to experience the local culture this is just the right place for you. Putra and his wife Ratna are amazing hosts and I learned so much about their culture and traditions. They were also so nice to take me around to visit and explore the village and the area and assist me with everything I needed. They have an awesome family and the house is located in a really nice and quiet place, with plenty of rice terraces to see. Ratna is a great cook so you can also enjoy good food.
