it is on a main road. in the summertime, we couldn't keep the windows open due to the busy road.24/7. which impacted on sleep the room would benefit from a TV for guests,room coffee making and new mattresses and a good clean of the shower/fans.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Although on a main road and next to a gas station, the location was very good as a base to explore the things we had planned: the tidal pool, Dún Briste at Downpatrick Head, the Moyne Abbey, boating to Inishkea Islands, a visit to the town of Ballina and to enjoy a pint and watch “the game” at McDonnells, aka the lobster pot. My bed was warm and comfortable. The water pressure great in the shower.
The passing cars were noisy, the sun set right into the gas station, there was some noise at night from the main house which kept us up until 4am until whoever it was that was visiting left. There is no breakfast served, not even a fresh continental. We found our keys under a mat instead of a personal greeting from host, communal area upstairs odd…each room should have its own kettle. The dart board (?) encouraged gatherings there instead of allowing guests to have rest, peace and quiet. No television either which isn’t a must but each guest was buzzing about that. I feel this host should have made some of these things known in the listing and made more of an effort to answer her guests messages in a timely fashion (didn’t answer fellow guests inquiry at all, and took almost two weeks to answer one of my questions.) I hate to leave this type of review but I personally rely on ratings and reviews when making my selections. It’s not at all personal. It is strictly business.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The room was spacious, cozy spotlessly clean lovely spacious ensuite, powerful shower, wonderful communal kitchen area on the upstairs landing just outside my bedroom lovely views from two sides of the room great staff who took my booking needs into consideration given that I needed to check in very late in the night time absolutely 10 out of 10 better than the majority of hotel rooms. You’ll find yourself in around the country.
The only thing I didn’t like is that I didn’t get to stay a little longer and enjoy more time in Belmullet

Reviewed Aug 29, 2025Ich hatte ein sehr geräumiges Zimmer mit Meerblick. Es war sauber und das Bett bequem. Die Teeküche hat einen Toaster und Milch, Kaffee, Butter und Konfitüre wurden zur Verfügung gestellt, was ich sehr toll fand. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war einwandfrei.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2025The property was spotless. Met Bernie, she was a lovely lady. Anything we wanted she was available. There are 3 bedrooms on the top floor. The bedroom was huge, comfortable bed. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Very nice view. On the landing are facilities, fridge, air fryer, microwave, fridge( if you need them) Bernie left bread, milk, sugar etc.
Bit far from town. But was able to get local link bus. No problem getting a taxi back.

We liked the fact that we could make our breakfast in the kitchen provided. It was very clean and we appreciated the milk and snacks provided. I would definitely recommend Teach Cósta. Reviewed Sep 14, 2024Very clean, large room in a very nice house in quite a remote location. Perfect for us as cycle tourists on EV1. Great communication from host, with very clear instructions on accessing the property. Very accommodating for secure storage of our bikes overnight. We were given 100% privacy for our overnight stay. Nicely equipped kitchenette with microwave, kettle, utensils, coffee, tea, bread, butter, milk, cereals etc. The garage just down the road has a good selection of ready meals, wines and beers and, from 07:00, a fabulous takeaway breakfast baguette.

Reviewed Jul 27, 2024Bernie was so lovely, greeting us on arrival, showing us around and making us feel right at home. The room was very large and spacious with lots of natural light. A range of facilities in the shared kitchenette allowed us to make a lovely breakfast the next morning. Everything you need is there. We stayed for a wedding the next day and had plenty of room to get ready, Bernie even gave us the option of a later check out if we needed it. We left something in the room and she brought it to the hotel where the wedding was for us to collect. Exceptional service, thank you Bernie!
