Waterfront Guest House

It's just a stunning peaceful place. I stayed in the Flamingo room which is so gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. I booked at this accommodation previously and will very likely book there again.

I enjoyed the bed and the view and the wifi was working perfectly, we did see the lake because of that green plant but I really enjoyed my stay and I would go back again very soon.

The walls were very thin, the neighbors could here you when you talk and the tv too. The pool was a little dirty.

No champagne or wine glasses No bin in the main bedroom to throw away leftovers or bottles etc One of the hanging lights was not working. The bathroom door kept getting stuck, ultimately we left it wide open There were random cockroaches in different parts of the property - needs to be fumigated

The place was nice and the stuff was great, the was a double bed when we arrived and we had booked for twin beds and immediately when we told them they organized everything fast for us.

I enjoyed the privacy and own entrance concept of the guesthouse. The room is set up in a very stylish manner making sure you can in fact spend more than just 1 night there. The area is quiet and safe as we saw many people walking their dogs.

The bathroom light was very dim and having to use this at night was a bit disturbing as you need to rinse the cutlery, and can't really see much. The bath is also a bit small for the more "larger built" person. Although the vibe seems to be a bit more relaxing and romantic, a shower would be a better option to perhaps convert the bath into, you could even do double showers to fill up the space of the bath area.

How other guest knocked hard on our sitting room door and we were not making noise.We were just chatting but not noisy. Maybe the rooms must be separated from the main house.

The property is super clean, located right in-front of Harties Fisheries (Park). It has a pools and braai stands. The rooms are not that small.

The TV did not have channels even simple Channels like SABC channels. I wanted to watch FIFA game but I couldn’t. The only thing you can watch on their tv is YouTube. I had to watch the game on my phone

There was complete confusion over this booking between Booking.com and the host. We booked and paid for two nights, but the host only had a record for one night and made us pay again for the second. He eventually said he would refund us via a bank transfer but made a mistake in the transfer and is now refusing to do the transfer again. So we are out of pocket. The host also has a bad attitude. And this was not just us, there was another guest there at the same time who had the same problem of a two-night booking but the property only gave her one night.

The location of the property is great, very close to the place we wanted to visit, e.g. Aerial Cableway, villa Paradiso, Hartebees dam and many restaurants. Our room was very clean and cozy.

The host was friendly and it was raining most of the time we didn't get to explore,but that's for another day

During the night we started to see roaches i thought it was just one but when the aircon kicked in we saw lots of them we had to finish all the food we had quickly before they got into the plastics

Everything about this place was amazing from the view of the mountains and dam to the rooms which was spacious and had a fridge... Staff were also very helpful and friendly! 10 out of 10 from me!! If I book around I will definitely book again!

It was nice and quiet. It has been an amazing experience even though it was just for one night. Had no issues with other guests and the staff was nice and respectful. Would visit this place again in the future. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice affordable quiet place.

The rooms had no doors, and when we woke up in the morning we realized, a male person was sleeping by the main entrance door (Fish eagle door) inside. When we asked the cleaning lady about the invasion, she simply said they overbooked people. And that was the only space they could open for the stranger to occupy without our consent nor knowledge as it was already late. I asked for the owners mobile number to contact, she refused with it as she said she was afraid. We got scared for our life. We even asked for the refund for the next night night so that we could look elsewhere she said the onwers will refuse. We had no choice but to sleep there again. I wouldnt encourage anyone to book that accomodation again, especially the family room. About the single rooms maybe the treatment was different. Additionally, we realized the kitchen was also a store room. While we were in the kitchen, around 7am, a different gentleman came through without even atleast alerting us by maybe saying something to be prepared for yet another intruder. When i asked he said he came to collwct the mop from the pantry. One bedroom door had a door but no key. Another bedroom had no door at all. That means, if the maindoor where the 1st stranger/intruder was sleeping is open, it means there is a free flow of movement to all bedrooms. We just couldnt believe it. A first of its kind. Just shocking stuff. There were also some insects in rge whole house, and when we asked the cleaning lady, she said its because the guest house is closer to the dam. We were 5, 2 adults and 3 children between 10 and 14 years of age.

The site is beautiful.

We arrived on a rainy day and there were three puddles of water inside the accommodation (in the kitchen and the bedroom). It was difficult to get enough towels to mop it up. It rained all night and one of the bedrooms is directly under the metal roof with no insulation: it was cold and extremely noisy. The next morning, no one checked on the situation to see whether the leaks had stopped, whether we were inconvenienced, or whether we needed help. Three lights remained on outside our windows during the first night and we could not find any way to switch them off. For good reason—the switch was not connected to our accommodation. We felt very uncomfortable and asked that the cleaning service not enter the apartment in our absence. The lady said “ok” and then left with the key to the back door in front of us. We had to run after her to ask her to leave us our key. In fact, they use the family apartment to take dishes and supply the other accommodations. As a result, we only had three forks for our entire stay, and nothing was corrected after I mentioned it to the staff member. The rooms are so poorly separated that from our living room I could hear the person on the phone in the room next door. I could even smell the neighbors’ perfume. The swimming pool was dirty and green; the pool vacuum was inside but not working. It should also be noted that access to the lake is entirely private and only accessible with payment during the day, and you have to drive to reach public access (in front of the guest house it is a private club). Although the region is pleasant, the accommodation was not at all up to standard, with no attempt made to improve the situation or offer any form of compensation.

The sight view from the accommodation and the area was quiet and safe.

It's difficult to order-in from nearby restaurants as they don't deliver to the area. If you want food, you need to go to the mall. To use some of the facilities like the kitchen or sink, you have to go out of your room so it's a disadvantage if it's raining outside.
