He actually managed for me to identify and get hold of my local tour operator (I had booked - and paid - for a 3day treck, and never heard anything back through none of the seemingly fake communication channels , so when I had arrived in Douz I had already given up on the money and the plan - but with Hassen’s support it all miraculously worked out perfectly after all!). He also helped other guests to connect with appropriate tour operators to get what they exactly wanted. The rooftop terrace is also nicely decorated.
My room (fan only) gets the full sun throughout the day, so at night is still feels like an oven. I guess all the AC rooms are ok though.

Reviewed Sep 11, 2026Accoglienza e la gentilezza del proprietario. Unica e stato molto gentile ci ha aiutato per una escursione all alba con quoad. La stanza profumata e pulita le lenzuola pulite. Ottimo letto per dormire bene . Ottima colazione . Bagno e doccia privata . La moto al sicuro interno cortile. La bellissima terrazza . La stanza climatizzata . Tutto alla grande .

Reviewed Aug 21, 2026The room was clean and cozy and had a lovely garden and a fantastic terrace with many traditional decoratives. Hassan was very kind and gave us lots of information on what to see and do. He also told us about a place in the dessert where we could go by our car and see some dunes (literally there were no other tourists there and was amazing!)

Non è un appartamento ma una camera con bagno. Ho contattato il proprietario alle 15 per l'orario di arrivo, si è "dimenticato" di dirmi che non c'era l'acqua e che la corrente andava e veniva. Ho saputo queste cose alle 19 quando sono arrivato, se l'avessi saputo subito avrei trovato un'altra soluzione perché non farsi la doccia con 45 gradi è dura, e dormire senza aria condizionata forse anche peggio. Sono uscito a cena e rientrato alle 22. Fino alle 23,30 sono rimasto seduto fuori perché non c'era corrente, per cui niente aria condizionata, niente luce e niente wifi. Dalle due alle quattro di mattina sempre seduto fuori per lo stesso motivo. L'acqua mai vista nemmeno la mattina

La habitación estaba perfecta, el baño limpio, además había una terraza preciosa desde la que se puede llegar a ver el desierto, y por la noche es muy bonito también. El desayuno estaba rico y fue completo. Además el amfitrión nos recomendó actividades que hacer por la zona y restaurantes a los que podíamos ir.

Il proprietario è una persona gentilissima, sempre disponibile e attenta alle esigenze degli ospiti. Le camere e gli spazi comuni sono puliti e ben curati, e i servizi offerti rendono il soggiorno piacevole e confortevole. L'accoglienza calorosa e l'atmosfera familiare fanno sentire subito a casa. Un'ottima scelta per chi visita Douz e desidera un luogo tranquillo dove soggiornare. Assolutamente consigliato!

Very cute Bedouin type rooms and roof top relaxation area. Great to ne surrounded by locals in town, and not be in the touristique zone out of town.

Das Zimmer ist und die Räumlichkeiten sind sehr schön und es hat auch Dusche und Toilette in jedem Häuschen. Wir haben viel gelacht und ich hatte eine schöne Zeit. Herzlichen Dank Hassen

Présence illégal d'un bébé fennec attaché à un cageot "le temps d'être domestiqué", un vrai crève-coeur ! Odeur d'animaux assez fortes (moutons vivant juste à côté)

Reviewed May 16, 2026Véritable perle pour le voyageur ! Emplacement au calme absolu mais très proche de l'axe principal pour les restaurants, épiceries et visites. Après la traversée de la cour on débouche sur un patio qui dessert les chambres. L'intérieur est joliment décoré, confortable et d'une grande propreté. Le petit-déjeuner est complet. Enfin, le patron est accueillant et très réactif aux demandes éventuelles. Je reviendrai avec grand plaisir.

Cash only, but I couldn’t see this on the website so had to wander into the souq for 20 minutes down quiet streets to find an ATM. Not catastrophic at all though

Se echó de menos un desayuno más casero.

Leider war es nicht ganz so sauber wie erhofft aber dafür war’s günstig.

The ambiance is hostel accommodation. Owner provides bookings for tours to Matmata and Sahara at competitive prices. Owner can speak English.
It appears that the bed sheets are not changed after guests left. Only the bath towels are changed. The carpet in the dining room is dirty with food debris. The pictures on the kitchen are misleading because there’s no kitchen facilities even to boil water to make tea. Also the pictures of barbecue over a fire is misleading because there’s no facilities to barbecue. Our bathroom door could not be closed from the inside.

Reviewed Mar 22, 2026A lovely little place to stay in Douz, down a quiet street but not too far from the centre of town. The owner was very friendly and helpful during our stay. We were the only people staying there at the time and we caught a beautiful sunset from the rooftop. We even had the chance to witness some Eid celebrations, a truly unique and memorable stay.

Reviewed Mar 20, 2026Alojamiento familiar. El personal era muy agradable. La habitación estaba muy limpia y era cómoda. No tiene parking pero se puede dejar el coche a la puerta del alojamiento. El desayuno tiene la misma variedad que en el resto de Túnez.
No tenía toallas de ducha en la habitación. A nosotros no nos importó porque siempre llevamos unas toallas de viaje, pero tenlo en cuenta si no las llevas.

Pas de drap, que des couvertures. Une seule serviette pour 2, la serviette étant minuscule et sentant fort le moisie. Pas de produits pour se laver. Pas de chauffage (nous sommes en février, nuits entre 0 et 2 degrés…) Peu d’eau chaude (pas assez pour tout le monde). Pour une nuit ça va mais c’est vraiment TRÈS roots….

Reviewed Feb 24, 2026Die Unterkunft liegt in einer ruhigen Gegend in Douz und nicht direkt im Zentrum. Man kann aber in einer Viertelstunde zu Fuß zu den Läden und Restaurants laufen. Uns hat die Unterkunft mit ihren gewölbten, hübsch eingerichteten Bungalows sehr gut gefallen, auch wenn diese recht klein sind. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, haben mit dem Gastgeber, der mit seiner Familie und den Tieren auch hier wohnt, abends sehr nett am Lagerfeuer gesessen und mehrfach die sehr schön gestaltete Dachterrasse genutzt. Auch das Frühstück war ganz prima. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und empfehlen diese Unterkunft sehr gerne weiter.
