Palm Grove Bandarawela

I loved the whole experience. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and they have a beautiful garden where you can relax and enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee. Hashan and his mom were incredibly kind and considerate. Aunty’s food was absolutely delicious, and they both went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. It was a wonderfully relaxing three days. The location, right in the city center, was also very convenient. I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend this place!

Staff was very friendly, reliable, and eager to make the stay great. Location is perfect, and the breakfast was really nice. If you want to sleep comfortably, have some nice breakfast and don’t care about big luxuries like pools whirlpools , then this is unavoidably the best bang for the buck place in Bandarawela.

I really enjoyed my time at Palm Grove. From the moment I arrived Hashan and his mother made me feel very welcome and like a part of the family. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. Hashan is a lovely friendly guy. I couldn't have asked for better Sri Lankan hospitality. Don't hesitate to book!

I can’t quite put into words how lovely my stay here was. From the moment I arrived, it felt like home. Harsha and his wonderful mother welcomed me with such genuine warmth and care. They prepared a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast for me each morning and even offered dinner one evening. The location is also very convenient, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby in the center. The room was spacious and very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and I had some of the best sleep of my travels. I especially enjoyed spending time in the beautiful garden, relaxing, chatting, and simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere with them each day. They can also help organize local tours with their tuk-tuk. They kindly helped arrange my bus and even took me to the station and waited to make sure everything was okay. So many thoughtful gestures, offered purely out of kindness. I’m very grateful I had the chance to stay here and would happily return. It truly feels like a second home. Istuti!

I had a truly wonderful stay here. It felt much more like being welcomed into a family home than staying at a typical guesthouse. The house has clearly been passed down through generations and is being taken care of with so much love and attention. The host was incredibly kind and attentive, and his mother made the experience even more special. She prepared delicious breakfasts every morning (included in the price) and one evening cooked a beautiful homemade dinner for me as well. The food was authentic, fresh, and made with care. The garden is lovely and peaceful, and the whole place is very quiet. Perfect for a reset, especially if you’re coming from busier or more touristy areas. It felt local, genuine, and very warm. I’m really grateful for the hospitality and would absolutely stay here again.

We (my wife and I) stayed at Palm Grove, Bandarawela for 7 nights and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The property may be newly started, but it already feels like a home away from home. The breakfast was amazing every morning fresh, hearty, and thoughtfully prepared. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and cozy, giving us the perfect space to relax after exploring Bandarawela and the surrounding areas. One of the unique aspects of Palm Grove is its connection to history, as the place has ties with the great literary figure Kumaratunga Munidasa, which adds a special cultural charm to the stay. The location is excellent close to the city, with a good restaurant, supermarket, and even the railway station nearby, making it very convenient for travelers. What truly made our stay memorable was the hospitality. Hashan and his mother treated both of us not just as guests, but like part of their own family. Their kindness, warmth, and care made our time in Bandarawela extra special. We both felt very welcomed and taken care of throughout our stay. Palm Grove is perfect for couples, families, or anyone looking for comfort, convenience, history, and heartfelt hospitality all in one place. We will definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bandarawela.

Lage, sauber, ruhig, großes Zimmer und vor allem die Gastfreundschaft. Der Vermieter hat mir super Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben, ist mit mir abends essen gegangen und mich sogar zum Bahnhof gefahren. Also an Service nicht zu überbieten. Die Mutter ist auch sehr nett und hat ein tolles Frühstück zubereitet. Ganz klare Empfehlung!

I was incredibly lucky to find Hashan’s guesthouse in Bandarawela. It’s not far from the bus station and market, within walking distance. Upon arriving at the guesthouse, Hashan’s mother warmly welcomed me and treated me to an incredibly delicious cup of hot milk tea. The room, though simply decorated, was very spacious. Both the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. Breakfast offered a choice between Western or traditional options, and there was a clean water dispenser available. Though the weather wasn’t hot, the provided standing fan was a nice touch. Hashan took me to a fantastic nearby restaurant for a meal. I forgot my charger at the previous hotel, and when Hashan found out, he immediately arranged for a courier to deliver it to my next hotel. His proactive and thoughtful help got it delivered from 100 km away within a day! There was some noise from a nearby school broadcast around 7 a.m., but since I was already up, it didn’t bother me much. Finally, Hashan even accompanied me to the bus station to catch my bus—so grateful! I wholeheartedly recommend Hashan’s service and guesthouse!

The only downside was the low water pressure in the bathroom, but this seems to be a common issue in Sri Lankan hotels.

We stayed for two nights. The property had 5 bedrooms, of which we rented 4, however we have access to the whole house. The property is looked after by a family (son and his mother) and they are friendly, happy to go the extra mile to help the guest. The food was delicious. They are happy even to wake up early in the morning to make coffee when checking out (say 5am) or stay late night for check in.

We run of hot water on day 2, however this was fixed immediately

Mother and son working together to make this place a nice place to stay. Bauhaus style house, big rooms, nice asian style bathroom, very nice garden, very close to the town but quiet, huge and very good Breakfast. Bandarawela is a good place to stay because it is in the middle of everything (Ella, Haputale, Lipton's seat, etc.)

For the price, nothing to dislike.

The host was really nice and helpful. He picked us to the bus station and give us advice how to get to Lipton Seat. The room was clean. I really recommend this hostel- good place to stay before tea fields.

Splendid Mum and son homestay operation close to center but in a quiet location with a park like garden setting. The hists are the nicest people, so helpful and Hessan, the son, speaks very good English. Our room was clean and very large with a balcony overlooking the garden. We had the Sri Lankan breakfast and there was enough food for six people. Would definately stay here again and definately recommend it.

It is very nice place. We had a doubt about their facilities with their price. Because other hotels are very expensive than PALM GROVE. But it is one of a best hotel i had seen.specially im very happy about their cleaning and mouthwatering meals.it is very nice hotel. Recommend 100%.
