The room was so quiet and peaceful. Felt so relaxing and a complete relief. Would recommend it.

Room was clean

Change of address last minute, lack of communication, inflexibility or help when asking if I could store my bags for 4 hours after checkout. No towel given on arrival, no body wash or shampoo in the shower

****** Seems like the hosts response is aimed at someone else or she is trying to avoid accountability********* I NEVER REQUESTED TO EXTEND MY STAY AND I STAND BY MY POINT - PROPERTY IS UNSAFE AND HOST IN UNRESPONSIVE This property was an absolute nightmare. The host is pretty much unavailable. There is people walking in and out of rooms, zero organisation, and zero presence at the property. If there’s ever an emergency God forbid because the host takes hours and I mean hours to reply to even the most basic message. Property is not safe, and I would strongly recommend anyone to look elsewhere.

There is nothing positive to report about this property. The host needs to learn how to deal with check in and guests professionally and also learn the importance of communication in a property service business.

The lights in the bathroom didn’t work they said that somebody will come the next day but we wouldn’t be there. There was 1 used roll of toilet paper There was no air conditioner It was not a good place for an Airbnb

Noise, Literally early in the morning some one mow the lawn, and i could not get to sleep after that, No Spoons in kitchen, Owners cat came in my room as i was allergic to their furr still sneezing , they gave me a basement room, i booked another location i was asked to come to another location as there was a gas leak, nothing was on point, nothing, electricity breaker was in basemnt and it is tripping host literally came 5 times even while i was asleep..

Everything was great! Booking was easy. The accommodations were clean and up to date.

The website listed shuttle service to the airport but it was not available. Not sure if it was because of the short booking or if it actually exists.E

We didn't stay in the original booking. But the room we got 3 blocks away was beautiful and very clean. The host and her daughter also were so helpful.

We had to check in at a different location so I had to book Lyft twice. But the other place was very nice and clean.

It was a beautiful location next to the river. I only stayed over night. The room was comfortable although the shade does not keep out the sun in the morning. It was very clean. I needed help and the host responded immediately. There was plenty of parking.

The shampoo and the hand soap were empty. I had to change from one place to the other and didn't realize the code was the same. It wasn't written in the message.

The wifi didn’t work I had to use my hotspot. There was a cat when I entered the house that I was not aware of and I’m allergic to cats. There was no ac and when I got there all the windows in the house were open with no screens so that didn’t make me feel very safe. There was also a lady that said she was supposed to have a room there but couldn’t get in or get in contact with the owner so she was just knocking at the door for like 15 minutes. It just felt very disorganized.

Location and cleanness

I booked the Serenity Room JFK for one night before a very early flight in the morning. I liked the pictures on booking.com and my room was clean and nicely decorated.

The location in Queens was disappointing. I took the subway from Manhattan and got off at the Far Rockaway station. When I stepped out of the station after dark, the neighborhood appeared run-down and there were several people around who made me feel uneasy. I then had to walk for about 30 minutes to reach the house. As a woman traveling alone with suitcases, I did not feel safe in the area. When I arrived, no one was there to greet me, and the entrance was poorly lit, making it impossible to see the code lock on the door. After ringing the bell, a woman answered through an intercom device and remotely unlocked the entrance. The room had a lamp turned on and the windows open to let in fresh air after a hot and humid day. However, there was no air conditioning and no USB outlets. My phone battery was nearly dead, and the only way to charge it was through the TV, which had to remain switched on. The bed was wobbly, and the sheets initially appeared dirty, although it turned out to be lint and wear from the very old, inexpensive bedding. The sheets were also too small for the mattress. No towels were provided in the room, and the bathroom was located down the hall. The only towel available in the bathroom had already been used. To make matters worse, there was no local taxi service. Uber drivers were charging more than $100 to get to JFK Airport, even though it is only about four miles away. In the end, I paid $80 for a taxi coming from Brooklyn. Next time, I would rather pay more for a hotel. In this case, the low price was not worth the inconvenience and discomfort. You get what you pay for, and this was not a cost-effective option.

Nothing in the kitchen except tang juice and plenty og cat foods . Very far from everything. Caretaker not approachable, do not explain because you can never win.just shot up . TV very impossible-spanish language,I need to call the caretaker.she is from another unit

Unfortunately, there was very little about the one night or few hour of my stay that I enjoyed due to the poor service and overall experience.

This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was poor, staff were unhelpful, and concerns were either ignored or handled with little regard for guest satisfaction. The condition of the property and the overall level of service fell well below what was advertised and expected. I chose to check out early because I no longer felt comfortable staying at the property. Unfortunately, there was no effort made to address the issues or improve the situation. A hotel should provide guests with a welcoming, clean, and professional environment, and this property failed to meet those basic standards. I would not recommend staying here based on my experience.

The communication with staff was all through text message and only half of my texts would occasionally be answered. I had no check-in or check-out instructions. The booking.com listing mentions an “airport shuttle” that is NOT true, basically they will call a cab for you if you ask, pretty pointless. They switched the building I was to stay in at the last minute, this involved a 30-minute walk from the nearest transit- very rough since I was getting in at midnight with a bunch of very heavy luggage. I had no key to my room so no way to lock my room while away was pretty worried the whole time about other random guests having access to my room/luggage. The shared bathroom was filthy and there was no toilet paper when I arrived. All of the soap, shampoo etc. bottles in the shower were also- empty. There was a cat in the house, also weird (allergies hello!). I am not allergic but I could have been. Overall just a bizarre stay experience. Was it cheaper than a big-name hotel- yes. Was it cheap enough to justify the hostel/funky airbnb type experience? no, in my opinion. I’ve stayed at nicer hostels for half that price. And all the random changes and bad comm and false or skewed information going into my stay was just very stressful. All that said my room seemed clean at least.

I didn't like sharing the bathroom. People are nasty it was disgusting at times. There was no key for my room door I could only lock it from the inside. Microwave didn't work. Food was taken out of the fridge by someone in the kitchen.

If you need to get to JFK airport quickly, this location is very convenient.

The house is very old, the shower faucets don't work, the toilet lid keeps falling off. Everything is generally very old, although relatively clean.

I dnt like how they allowed me to book a room and tell me it was a mistake because it was my first time in New York and I know no one

No me hospedé yo personalmente sino familia. Aunque la ubicación es un poco lejana de Manhattan, aún se encuentra dentro del área metropolitana de NY , lejos del bullicio. Es un lugar limpio, acogedor, tranquilo y muy cerca de la playa lo que le da puntos extra. La atención de Esmeralda es de lo mejor. Y el precio es muy accesible. Lo recomiendo 100%.

Booking.com gave us a place in New York instead of California

They changed the adress at the last minutes, our flight got delayed at 1 am and they canceled the booking without any refund. We had to find somerhing else in the night,

The room I stayed in was in Dunbar street as there was an issue at the orginal address, that adress was only two minutes down the road. The house is lovely, the room was very clean and smart, there was no issue at all with the room and they even provided a wifi connection. The sea is just five minutes along, they offrred free coffee and have a connected taxi service to the airport. They give you access to a shower, you are allowed to come and go as you please using a connected entry door code. It is very worth the money if you need a quick and feasable hotel stay.

Unfortunately though the female host was polite and professional she and her likely partner had been discussing me very innapropriately and made my stay uncomfortable and fearful, it was intimidating and coercive and that made me feel unwelcome. I could have said that I was unhappy about their behaviour and left for alternative arrangements but I had to stay and ignore the behaviour over three days. The only other thing that may have bothered a guest is the late night plane arrivals at the nearby airport that can wake you late at night but that is not a big problem.

The amenity description is ambiguous. Kitchen microwave is broken. Upon contacting the manager, he said that was clearly stated which is not true. He offered using stove forgetting that not all food can be heated with stove. Most of my food got spoiled. Room was too cold and heating system won’t turn on despite the cold weather. Manager responses to request or complain does not reflect any human sympathy.

I paid for it at work a lot when I got there outside did not like the neighborhood and the place so I went to book another place close where my kids can walk lost my money

Well 1st the booking says airport shuttle is available when it is only available going to the airport and when I tried to set up there was no response, also the place was double booked,when I arrived there was already another family there stating they rented all three rooms, it was a mess and there’s no privacy, you hear everything going on it the house, if your going to rent out individual rooms there should be locks on the doors, I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my things in the room since there was no manageable lock

Cheap and easy to enter.

There where no towels, or messages that we need a towel. The only reason for the stay, was to refresh before a flight. Big disappointment. I messaged the host, and not message back.

I was supposed to have this accomodation but was tranfered with a short notice to another one a few blocks away due to issues in the original one. However, the communication was clear and this caused no trouble. The alternative property, as well as the original one, are located in a quiet and safe neighborhood. The property, which was apparently the home of the hosts, was very clean and cozy. Complementary coffee and tea were provided. Easy access to JFK, so this is a perfect place to spend a night between flights.

I didn't like my first encounter when I first arrived. The owner gave me a very hard time because I arrived early. I froze outside waiting 3 hours for the room to be cleaned. She did offer a cab to go to another place but I did not accept. She said there was no place inside to wait but I found that not to be true once I got inside there is a sectional chair piece when you walk in unoccupied. I found it very rude and unprofessional that I had to sit outside in the cold. I wanted to stay where I booked. When the room was cleaned the first time after a week. She asked what day I preferred and that they cleaned the room every 5 days. I thought that was a trick question because every 5 days is not the same day every five days. So I said Friday is fine, she never responded back or sent anyone to clean the room. I was there for a month, and the room was cleaned twice only. I never said anything or complained. Another thing is the bathroom. It was cleaned very well when it was cleaned, but I did not like sharing it was disgusting how the other people would leave it. I was afraid of catching something. New experience for me. I don't personally have anything against anyone, I just wanted to point out some things, I could say more but, I'll say less. I've said enough the staff was very nice and polite. It could be the texting that's s problem that's what the owner preferred. It's very easy to have misunderstandings through text messages. One last thing there was no key to my room door so I really couldn't do what I needed to while I was there as far as leaving. I would only go to the store or laundry and come right back. Once I came back just in time to meet people trying to go into the room new booking I guess but all the rooms were occupied, mine didn't have a key. I was offered a different room but I was so used to the one I was in I didn't accept. I didn't want to pack up all my things again to have to unpack.

The first place on Mott ave stunk of weed, but once I got there she told me there was a problem, and I had to move to the second location which was fine.

first, no easy way of transportation other than Uber to the closes train station, customer switch location at the last minute when I called to verify location upon arrival. She told us to remove our shoes thou the floor was not clean, she told us we could not gather as a family at the living room area, she proceeded to cover the sofas, She told my sister that she should not have phone conversations in the living room though she was the only one there, they had one roll of toilet paper in bathroom that was shared by three rooms. I had to look around for some paper and could not find any in the bathroom cabinet or in the nearby closet. I sent a message to the host, but it did not respond at all. I went looking around the rest of the property to find some at the lower level. She saw that we had brought food to eat that night after arriving and did not any moment while she was at the kitchen counter to tell use the island or invited us to sit down. Instead it was a guest of the host, appeared to be discussing business, was the one who said to us " would you like to sit here on the island eat your food" she just kept silent. she has no night lights to illuminate the staircase going up the rooms. The bath tub needs to be rooted because it fills up immediately. The toilet seat needs replacement, one of the screws appear to be broken and when sitting, you weren't sure if you were going to fall in. I had to advise her to raise the temperature in the area it was set to 65 degrees and apparently the window to my room had been left open, no curtains or good blinds to cover up the windows from the flood light that illuminated the area from the neighboring home. Garbage set in the kitchen area for a few days. Kitchen sink was not clean, left over food dropping in the sink overnight. Sorry I am not able to load photos at this time but I do have some.
