Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Location is excellent. I appreciate the fact that the hosts are continually upgrading things like the fridge, toaster, kettle, air fryer etc.
The bathrooms need serious renovations .... there was no hot water in the back bedroom, not in the shower, nor the hand basin. The doors leading to the patio and off the lounge are problematic to open. The toaster kept tripping the main power. The air conditioner in the main bedroom as well as the back bedroom did not work. This is the third time I have stayed at this property and the prices are now extremely high for what you get. The main window in the lounge, looking out at sea.....the wooden frame is rotting and breaking up, we couldn't close it properly because of this.

Reviewed Dec 3, 2025All the facilities, the beach house itself, all the rooms and bathrooms were superb and fabulous!! Everything was just so enjoyable and clean! Loverly pool and you couldn’t be closer to the beach! A plus point .. it was pet friendly!!

Reviewed Nov 17, 2025Location was wonderful. Lounge area sofa and chairs very comfortable. Big beds with fine quality linen and large good quality towels. Pool great, kitchen great with dishwasher etc.
Minor point but some plastic glasses for the pool area would be a benefit.

Reviewed Jul 28, 2025Excellent location . The house had everything you required for a great stay. It was very cold in the evenings and the fireplace was amazing. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the outdoor shower.
Having to activate and deactivate alarms and beams - but I guess it was necessary.

Reviewed Jun 19, 2025The setting is beautiful - right on the beach with a stunning view. The house is well equipped with everything you need. It is very comfortable and tastefully furnished for a beach house. It's close to the restaurants.
The one bathroom didn't have hot water - we think the gas ran out. But we shared the other bathrooms.

Only slight suggestion is to change sun lounges and bench for comfortable outside seating set-up. The crayfish salesmen are a bit of a pain and struggle to take no for an answer.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2025The location was excellent and hosts went the extra mile to make sure that everything needed, including electric adaptors, hand wash and even beach toys were in hand. Wonderful space to have a get together and the area is delightful.
The wind was epic, but that’s not the hosts’ fault :) the pool was over chlorinated and burnt our swimwear. The various shutters need strong hands to operate and latch.

The owner has made sure that everything is top notch and his attention to detail is very commendable. We will definitely be back :)

No cleaning was done during our 4 day stay and only provides 1 towel per person. We shower twice daily and after drying, towels were wet & also Due to weather, towels didn’t get dryed, so we have to use wet towels every day, this was very disappointed.

Reviewed Apr 24, 2024Location 10/10 - on the beach! The property is also kitted out with everything you need for a great holiday (braais, beach towels, dishwasher, etc.). The property exceeded my expectations and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Paternoster. I will look to book it again next time in Paternoster.
The only very small request would be to have a light above the outside table that isn't on a motion sensor. Very minor inconvenience!

Reviewed Oct 25, 2023The location is excellent. The house itself was awesome, lovely products, like Smeg kettle and toaster. Beds comfortable. Clean and neat. Nice size pool and wind protected outside area.
Although there are aircons in each bedroom we did not find that any of them worked optimally which makes me think that one would be pretty hot and uncomfortable in the heat of summer.

Pity the living areas are not a bit more open to the beach (bifold or sliding doors), but appreciate this is a more rustic property and this may not suit. Unfortunately the door between main en-suite and outside shower was stuck, so not as easy to make use of the shower.

Reviewed Aug 28, 2023Beautiful home in a fantastic location. The facilities and inventory were fantastic. Rented a few houses over the last few years in Paternoster, and the Beach House was by far the best rented home we have stayed at. everything that you require from a self-catering point of view was available in the house, in fact there was an abundance of cutlery, plates, cups, cooking utensils etc., which made the stay very pleasant. Highly recommend the Beach House.
Absolutely nothing. everything about the Beach House was fantastic, cannot think of anything to list as something we did not like.
