Manapouri Holiday Park

The lady at the reception is amazing, so nice and friendly! Beautiful surroundings with the lake and mountains. We stayed in a small hut, it’s really cute and warm. The facilities are clean.

The shower has hot water only for 7 minutes. After that you have to press the switch on again which is located outside of the showers, by the sinks.

Wonderful location, right across the road from the lake which had stunning views of the mountains. Very cute and comfortable cottage which looked like it was out of a 70s movie (major compliment!). Had all the facilities we needed for a cosy stay. Plus the host was a lovely woman!

The water pressure in the shower wasn't the best, aside from that, it was a wonderful stay!

I liked the lakeside camp atmosphere and the friendly staff. Aggie was very helpful in making sure I got the most out of my stay in Manapouri.

Lovely location, electric blankets and heater, Sam was super friendly, had a vintage playground set, cute little cabins that gave off an American summer camp feel

The bathrooms were a bit of a walk in the cold night, cabin would benefit with an outdoor light, very damp in showers not much ventilation, wifi was a bit choppy, had little flying bugs that bite just close your windows and doors, damp smell in room be good with an air freshener

Too much clutter in kitchen cupboards and dirty pans in oven. 2 saucepans and 2 frying pans in cupboard unusable and needed to be thrown out. 1 pot I did find I could use had no lid, so ended up using my tinfoil. Would I go back, yes, as I washed before using anything, but location wise was fantastic.

Staff and facilities were excellent. I stayed in 8 person mixed Dorm, Room was spacious, bunk beds were very comfortable. Enjoyed the large panoramic window that looked out over the Lake and Mountains. Plenty of parking, shared kitchen was large and well equipped. It's only a 10 minute stroll to the 2 Resteraunt/ Bars in town. Place was very quiet, no road noise. Highly recommend this place, excellent value for money.

Het huisje was vochtig en tochtig. We zijn ziek geworden.

The location right on the lake was stunning. The little cottages were adorable, and fit our group nicely

It was cold. There wasn't any instructions on where to find extra blankets, and one of our rooms only had a tiny heater that didnt warm up anything. One of our rooms had a fold out cou h which was uncomfortable

Le site est très bien organisé. Tous les équipements nécessaires (douches, cuisine, sanitaires, barbecue, ...) sont à disposition, quel que soit le type d'hébergement que vous avez choisi. Par ailleurs, l'emplacement est idéal pour rayonner dans la région et en profiter à fond. Sachant que Manapouri est beaucoup plus calme, plus authentique et bien moins cher que Te Anau située plus au nord.

Juste le chauffe-eau un peu "capricieux" lorsque nous avons voulu prendre notre douche.

Waiting until 2.00 pm for office to open was a bit inconvenient for campers.

Despite not being waterfront, it was still a great location.

I guess you get what you pay for. We thought we had waterfront property. The rooms were very sparse, with nowhere to place your luggage or sit. Had we been able to relax in the room it would have been a much better experience. We were happy to share bathrooms, but surely a couple of hanging hooks, rather than one could be supplied.

Die Lage direkt am See Manapouri ist perfekt, auch fuer einen Ausflug zum Doubtful Sound. Die Ausstattung der Küche ist volstaendig, gross genug und hat eine gemütliche Einrichtung.

Kann ich nicht sagen. Ich wuerde wiederkommen, sagt das genug?!

Great location in Queenstown. Our room was great with plenty of bed space and nice little outdoor area. Views wonderful. the shared amenities excellent. Really liked it. Great base for Queenstown and reasonably priced as compared to other options.

Beautiful location and nice property. Small houses we had were great, basic but clean and nicely located.

The shower/toilet areas could be cleaned a little bit better. Also the facility is a bit dated, which could use an upgrade in the upcoming years

We stayed in a small cabin. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Good (paid) laundry, plus clotheslines. Close to "The Church" restaurant. We were able to leave early for our drive to Milford Sound.

Not a big deal at all ... the shared bathrooms were a bit dated, but there was lots of hot water for showers.

The location was excellent for the activities we had planned. Our accommodation and the park offered lots of space, definitely not cramped for space. A blast from the past really, in a nice way.

The accommodation, facilities and site infrastructure were poorly maintained, but the accommodation prices and facility charges were solid (as for businesses in much better conditions). It felt like they were doing us a favor to let us stay as opposed to a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Good place to rest up and check out doubtful sound from. I checked in after hours and left early so did not get to see much but lots of separate cabins and a shared space with kitchen and laundry.

Laundry required coins which I could not get because I check in after hours.

For value it was great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a great experience meeting different people from all over and a variety of ages, in the kitchen for meals.

Stunning unimpeded view of Lake Manipouri from front windows! Good kitchen to prepare meals. One ensuite bedroom, so other couple could use the main toilet. Strong shower. Perfect location for Doubtful Sound trip. We have stayed here two nights several times when taking friends on a tour of the South Island.

It would have been better if the second bedroom had a queen bed instead of double. Seemed strange that campground office was only open for limited time, especially when one needed exact change coins to operate the laundry washer and dryer.

The dorm type room had a good view and was different to a typical hostel set up being in an outhouse (with a view)

The barn did get quite cold and the wifi was not consistent.

great location, close to the start of my booked Doubtful sound tour. Peculiar and quirky camp, with lots of old vintage cars scattered around, but plenty of room to park and camp. Beautiful lake is right across from the camp. Facilities were decent. I booked bunk bed in mixed dormitory room. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious. Staff friendly, smooth checking in/out.

Otoczenie, w pobliżu pięknego jeziora, spokój. Wspólna kuchnia była wyposażona w sprzęty do gotowania, było krzeselko do karmienia dla dziecka. Łazienki wspólne były czyste.

Dostaliśmy malutki, dosłownie mini grzejnik, który nie był w stanie nagrzać pokoju w nocy, więc było bardzo zimno. Byliśmy z 16 miesięcznym dzieckiem, które też zmarzło. Na kolejną noc poprosiliśmy obsługę o normalny grzejnik, dostaliśmy trochę większy, ale sytuację zmieniło też to że była już trochę cieplejsza noc. Na podłodze wyłożona jest płyta osb, na zdjęciach nie widziałam takiej podłogi, więc nie nadawała się żeby dziecko chodziło w skarpetkach. Przez co wrażenie kompletnie nieprzytulnego i zimnego domku. Nie polecam dla rodzin z małymi dziećmi. W kuchni jak i w łazienkach krany są krótkie i ciężko myć naczynia jak i ręce, bardzo niewygodne. W dodatku żeby była ciepła woda trzeba naciskać cały czas trzymając krany, nie ergonomiczne, nie praktyczne.

The location was great! A nice walk into town. Beautiful views of Lake Manapouri. (We were in a two bedroom cottage). The kitchen was well stocked with dishes etc as well as coffee, tea, etc. Very roomy. The staff was super helpful whenever we needed information or assistance. Also, Manapouri is the place to stay if you are going to Doubtful Sound.

It was a bit dated, and there were some dead bugs on the window sills and ledges. Needed a bit of a better cleaning between guests, but I noted that they are seeking to hire someone extra for that. We were not bothered by any of it. (It is a campground, after all.)

Felt like we disturbed young lady to check it s in as she played with child on blanket. MASSIVE issue with church school kud group camping 10 metres from everyone. Loud, rowdy into the night. No sight of ANY management or support for any guests. We had to ask church group leaders to quieten 8 yr old kids at 1030 at night. Power to cabins, so pt a little fridge and TV in there. Expect that for the price. Outdated linen and furniture.

Le calme du lieu et son côté atypique avec des cabanons de toutes tailles en bois, de petites maisons et des vieilles voitures dispersées sur le terrain, un petit musée. L'accueil souriant plein de gentillesse était au rendez vous Super communication avant et 3eme.nuit dans le même cabanon obtenu afin d'éviter le dortoir compliqué avec un fauteuil. Sanitaires avec douche pour personne handicapé, top dans un camping.....des couvertures sur le lit car nuits fraîches.

Cuisine et salle à manger vide bondés car petits locaux....choisir son horaire....plaques chauffantes défectueuses peu de cuillères et fourchettes....1 bloc sanitaires fermé....douche froide à la fin, sèche cheveux du camping qui fait sauter les plombs....

Die Gegend ist einfach wunderschön, die Unterkunft liegt zwar direkt an der Straße, es war aber relativ wenig Verkehr. Gegenüber dann gleich der See. Te Anau und Milford Sound sind sehr gut zu erreichen.

Die Sand Flies, aber dafür kann die Unterkunft ja nix. Ansonsten - es ist eine sehr einfache Unterkunft.

Le lit confortable avec suffisamment de couvertures car nuits fraîches, cabanon peu isolé. Le calme du lieu et la vue. La gentillesse de l'accueil très chaleureux et surtout nous avons pu bénéficier d'une nuit de plus dans le même logement et éviter le dortoir car en fauteuil roulant, pas simple. Très bonne communication avant l'arrivée pour caler ce changement. Équipement douche et WC pour handicapés, c'était top. Par contre, une grosse marche pour le cabanon....une rampe serait top.

Cuisine petite, très envahie le soir. Compliqué de trouver fourchettes et cuillères. Dernier soir, 1 bloc douches et toilettes fermés ...7mn pour se doucher avec cheveux longs...eau froide donc....et le sèche cheveux a fait disjoncté les plombs...donc cheveux trempés pour se coucher....Un peu root, comme camping....assez atypique, constructions en tous genres....Loin de tous services, commerces, etc..

Cute set up. Looks like a little chalet village. Comfy bed, was lovely and quiet the few nights we were there. Conveniently positioned between Doubtful and Milford Sound. The Church restaurant was nice but hard to get a booking.

The showers needed cleaning and lock on shower door broken. Toilet paper ran out in ladies bathroom. We had a ‘kitchen’ in our room but no crockery/ cutlery/ kettle even though we had running water. Forced to use busy communal kitchen. Only 1 restaurant, better options in Te Anau as much bigger town.

The view from the window across lake and mountains was exceptional.

It was comfortable and basically clean. The bed needs replacing and the purple curtains could do with a wash.

All good. It was clean and reasonably comfortable. Nice mix of people.

Personally I think the bins should have been emptied more often in the communal areas as they were very full at times.
