Luxurious Cairo escape

Great communication, fast replies, very quiet neighborhood.

Dust and cleaning :/ Furniture tops and counter tops could use better dusting, balcony could use a bit more attention and cleaning. Could provide towels for bathing and toilets. Even kitchen utensils and glassware could be cleaned better, found some lipstick stain on a couple of glasses.

The owner, although we never got to meet him,was excellent. His daughter, the same. the location was fine,close to the airport,reasonably safe area other than the crazy Egyptian drivers .Place was huge. it was like being in Egypt in the 1950s. And I mean that positively.we always like to travel where the locals live and this was perfect.

There really wasn’t much not to like about the property, to nitpick …the door. Lock was a bit of a problem and ironically being from Canada, we found it quite cool at night unless we turned the air conditioner/heater on. Other than that, it was great. Just a quick hint for Omar the owner, who by the way is a great guy, he describes a hot tub which for us is really just a bathtub so we spent the first five minutes, looking for the hot tub only to realize that it was just a figure of speech. But I wish to really emphasize that. Yes ….that is strictly nitpicking. The place was great value and the owner and family were superb.

I had a wonderful stay. The host is a real gentleman — kind, respectful, and very helpful. I arrived quite late, and he patiently waited for me. Even though we met only once, he was always available and attentive during my stay, offering advice and assistance whenever needed. Highly recommended.

Omar and his wife are excellent hosts. Omar was very good at following me and finding where I was, so that we would not arrive when he was not home. Without being too interfering, they were good at balancing between caring and giving me my space. The home was excellent. The place is spacious, well kept, loved, clean, pleasing to be in. It felt peaceful to be here. Comfort is maximum. The home is decorated with an array of items from all over the world. It is is like a museum of the world. It is absorbing to admire the artefacts. Omar and wife were happy to share the stories of these artefacts. When they came to share a tea with us, we had a wonderful conversations that were mentally stimulating and intelligent. Creating an environment of love, care and belonging is what I saw as their main focus. It was pleasing to be with them. On arrival, the dog and cat, interacting with great love between them, welcomed us as they waited for their owner to come. It was a great picture of peace reigning in this household.

It was cold in Cairo. Not the host's fault. But they cater for this with lovely warm blankets and a cozy atmosphere. Due to the cold, we could not enjoy the balcony, which is otherwise perfectly equipped, with a grill for your enjoyment.

I did not have host provided breakfast. I made my own breakfast. The kitchen had everything I needed. If there was anything missing, the host provided easily, swiftly. The host was excellent, polite, respectful, concerned about my wellbeing, provided everything, made himself available, yet not intruding. Quite a delicate balance did he maintain. The home is just that, a home, a luxurious home. I liked the space, the beautiful mix of colour and valuable items in the home. Each item in the home has a story. Omar provided the story with great love and cherish. It felt spacious and peaceful here, so much that I needed extra time just to savour the beauty and feel of this place. They allowed me to stay. This place is clean, very clean. The love with which it is looked after speaks at every inch. Here, you are not just a guest. In a way, you are a member of the family. Omar and his wife came down to spend time with me, at my request, so as we got to know each other. It was so good. Conversation is intellectual, meaningful, and inspiring. Want a home to stay in in Cairo, get here. The cat and dog were so friendly with each other and with me. It is like, they come to greet you and welcome you before the host arrived. I loved that. The place is in the upscale location of Heliopolis. Location is perfect, near the airport, with conveniences nearby: restaurants, markets, pizzerias, and all that a visitor might need. Can enjoy Cairo night life too.

It was a little cold in Cairo, and I did not have the pleasure of the sun on the balcony. Not the host's fault.

It’s absolutely artistic, cute and well-decorated!! The color, the art-paintings, and the embroiders from host’s mother together form up a small museum, even can film a movie. The room is big and super clean! The location is very close to the airport and in a nice and safe compound. The host is a knowledgeable anthropologist. He is soooooo nice that waited us to check in until midnight since our flight arrived in Cairo very late. It’s sad my friend and I were there only for one night. I wanted to stay there longer and learn more about this amazing and cute home full of history. Definitely a wonderful choice to come back again.
