Couldn't walk to port

We had a great time staying at Augusta Hut. We were visiting Elderly relatives who lived nearby. The location was a 15 minute walk to the ferry, shops and cafes, or a 5 minute drive. The hut itself was beautifully cleaned and decorated , with a little patio at the back. The hosts left some milk, chocolate and Whiskey which was a lovely thought. We would stay again next time we are in Auckland.

What a beautiful place! Augusta Hut completely exceeded our expectations. This architecturally designed luxury retreat is incredibly well-maintained, spotlessly clean, and filled with high-quality fixtures and fittings that reflect real attention to detail and thoughtful design. The (NZ 170 wide) King bed is one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in, completed by crisp cotton sheets, a proper duvet, and a gorgeous woollen throw. The shower was wonderful, quality bathroom products and the towels are thick and fluffy. The kitchen is uncluttered and well equipped, and the undercover private outdoor area is a highlight, overlooking a perfectly tended English-style garden. They’ve also thought of the little luxuries: organic milk in the fridge, excellent teas, fresh-ground coffee, a welcome chocolate, a wee dram of whisky, and a lovely selection of quality magazines and books to flick through. The WiFi was also excellent and reliable throughout our stay and the off street undercover parking was a bonus. If you’re looking for a high-quality, peaceful luxury escape, with added personal flare and touches, don’t hesitate — Augusta Hut is the perfect romantic retreat..

Everything! The communication was fantastic. The ambience, space , lovely touches like chocolate, organic milk, and scotch to try. Augusta Hut is a 20’ walk to the ferry, cafes and shops so we never used the car once we arrived there. I would have rated this accommodation higher if I could. If we ever came to Auckland again this is where we would stay.

We absolutely loved everything about this accommodation. It is in a lovely quiet area with traditional Devonport houses and is only 8 minutes walk to the town area and the Ferry Terminal. The accommodation is superb, spacious, immaculately clean, very comfortable bed, full kitchen facilities, excellent bathroom and a shower that you just need to turn on for warm water, not spend 5 minutes trying to adjust it, wonderful. All the utensils, furnishings, crockery etc are top quality. There is a lovely immaculate garden area with table and chairs for outside dining or relaxing. We cannot speak highly enough of this accommodation and would highly recommend.

Feels like home. Everything works. The owners were very attentive to our needs. The bed was comfortable with hotel grade cotton linens. The location is great as Devonport is a beautiful and unique town with great beaches but very accessible to Auckland CBD. We felt very lucky to find this gem.

A beautiful property that feels like a home away from home.

The window with the little hole in the shutters. It let a piercing beam of light come through early in the morning and woke us up.

The property was finished to a very high standard and was well equipped. The garden of the house that it was situated within was lovely and there was a nice patio to sit out on. Devonport is a really nice area to stay in, with central Auckland easily accessible by ferry (12 minutes). It is a 15 - 20 minute walk to the ferry terminal.

The sofa was very uncomfortable and not in keeping with the high quality of the property. Although the bed was very comfortable, it was a bit too big for the room, which resulted in a very narrow gap between the bed and the wall on one side, making it very difficult to get in and out of the bed on that side.

A real delightful home away from home. The property was lovely and very well appointed. The bed was comfy, and the hut was very spacious with a lovely garden outlook. We appreciated the hand ground coffee - a great touch.

A heated towel rail would be nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Augusta Hut. The accommodation is spacious for two guests and extremely comfortable. Much effort has been put into making this a stylish and interesting space, and a lovely ambiance is evident. We didn’t want for a single thing and appreciated the little extra touches that were evident throughout. The outside space is generous, attractive and beautifully maintained. Our hosts were helpful and friendly.

The Augusta Hut was fanastic with very easy access for parking and stunning well manicured gardens. The inside is very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. The Augusta Hut is a short walk to everything Devonport, the restaurants, the coffee shops and the ferry to Auckland. The hosts were very attentive and were there if we needed anything. Would recommend for convenience for access to Auckland by ferry.

A beautiful sanctuary, spotlessly clean and home away from home

our overall experience was fantastic! Place is really clean and looks luxurious 💯 it's a 20-min walk to Devonport Wharf but we didn't mind because the scenery and vibes were pleasant ✨️ location is also very quiet, not a single cricket at night 🙏 the hosts were also very kind and thoughtful ☺️ gave us coffee and chocolates

The Augusta Hut was absolutely adorable, the grounds were beautiful, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our short stay. The Augusta Hut is a short walk to everything Devonport, the restaurants, the coffee shops, the ferry to Auckland. Ant and Rhiannon were very accessible & checked in with us to see if we needed anything. I would stay here again in a heartbeat ~ loved it!

The property was first class in every way. Very quiet residential neighborhood.

No television was available, which we did not miss, but thought I'd mention it.

Beautifully decorated. Great location . Very quiet area with no traffic noise. Looks out on a lovely garden and lawn. Several outdoor sitting areas. Inside is spacious and lots of nice furnishings and special ornaments , books etc. friendly, helpful hosts and 2 sweet cats! Easy walk to Devonport shops, eateries and ferry .

The quality of the build was exceptional. All the appliances and fixtures were high grade. Very nice decor and colour scheme. The host was always ready to accommodate us. He could not have been nicer or more helpful. Devonport is a beautiful town and is convenient to many great beaches as well as Auckland CBD. There are many restaurants in Devonport and Takapuna. If you are not disabled then you can walk everywhere or take the ferry and buses. However we had a car and there was off street parking at the property.

Only one night table. Would have enjoyed a larger tv screen but the TV was smart and worked well.

Very charming, peaceful house, good appliances, nice details. Very spacious and with everything you need. We loved our stay.

If I have to say something, it would be useful to have blinds/a curtain in the small window in the bedroom.

Location great - away from busy roads and traffic noise (so quiet). Garden was lovely and great to have exclusive use of it. Having a kitchen and being able to cook was great and having decent sized fridge was great. Having a washing machine was super handy - I was able to do a load and not wait until I drove to sisters in Taupo to do washing.

I didn't discover if there was a window that could be opened at night to let in fresh air. It was hot and humid in Auckland during my stay so would have been nice to let some fresh air into the place at night. While I was in, I opened the doors opening onto the garden to get a cross flow of air, but of course for security reasons I didn't leave them open overnight. Just before I left I noticed a skylight window in the bathroom that may have opened.

Augusta Hut is a beautiful, serene, and peaceful place in a lovely, safe neighborhood. It is very well equipped with everything you need and is beautifully and tastefully decorated. It is set in a lovely garden with private outdoor seating, a great place to enjoy a morning coffee, or to wind down at the end of the day. Highly recommend.

The bedroom was a bit bright first thing in the morning. I would recommend a shutter over the small window in the bedroom and a curtain or internal roller door for the master bedroom.

Wow! Augusta Hut is absolutely stunning, we came to Auckland for the marathon and wanted a nice quiet place to relax and unwind before and after the event. Access was simple and once inside the hut, it was truly amazing. Luxurious and decorated beautifully, private and quiet, this place was absolutely perfect. The chocolate bars, small bottle of milk and the whiskey were nice touches too.

This place was 11/10. My boyfriend and I stayed for 2 nights for our anniversary and the rustic feel of the place and privacy made for the perfect romantic experience. The hosts really went above and beyond, from little touches such as Whittakers bars waiting for us in the fridge, and some whiskey (I think it was) to help ourselves to, to expensive hair products and gorgeous antique furniture pieces to bring a luxurious yet cosy feel to the weekend. The heated floors and high-quality bedding made for a supremely comfortable experience too. It exceeded our expectations and we both were thoroughly pleased with what we got, especially for the price. :) I highly recommend this gorgeous place for anybody looking for a peaceful break from busy Auckland or a place to take their person.

very minor issues mat at front door positioned so that we tripped over it going to the bathroom at night. everything stored in the cupboard above the cook top was out of reach to my wife.

We contacted the hosts and explained our itinerary as we were not familiar with the public transport arrangements in that area and we were given absolutely superb advice and assistance to get to and from our desired destination of Eden Park for the Super Rugby Final. Although you are in a busy part of Auckland the cul-de-sac position of Augusta led to an extremely quiet time spent there, 'you could cut the silence with a knife' springs to mind, much better than a hotel room for our particular requirement and we would stay there again.

It is difficult to find any fault with Augusta Hut.

The house was awesome warm, quiet and you could just relax

Nicely presented, tidy, attractive property. Well laid out, perfect size for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to Devonport through a lovely safe neighbourhood.

The hut was really comfortable. It is beautifully presented and included everything we needed. The location was also fantastic. We enjoyed the comfortable walk into Devenport where we went to the local cafes, restaurants and coukd also take the ferry across to Auckland.

Everything !!!! We were blown away with Augusta Hut. Beautifully styled with exceptional fittings and inclusions. Everything for the visitor is catered for, an awesome bed, the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on, a large wardrobe to unpack your bags into, a washing machine/dryer, great shower and consumables within, the kitchen was filled with quality items and nothing was overlooked. A full stove made cooking a breeze and clean up was easy with the dishwasher. A full size fridge with all you need to enjoy your first coffee, (think milk for your coffee, and chocolate you renew your sugar levels). There was so much light in this designer cottage, huge French doors open to their immaculate designer garden, there was even a fire-bucket and wood supplied for us to enjoy whilst having a glass of wine outside.

Total luxury experience. The aesthetics, linen and beautiful candles to feel cosy and at home.

The peaceful, quiet setting & lovely outdoor area. Great decor & plenty of room. Very modern interior.

Just a suggestion. A luggage rack in the bedroom would be handy.
