Ganga-Langa

We stayed for 2 nights here, the place is very unique, calm & cozy. We were able to spend those 2 days these and feel like just as our home the freedom, privacy & the service which was provides is excellent. I would must say, room is very spacious & has very unique vibe & all the facilities (hot water, hair dyer, good water supply, coffee & tea makers etc) the concept of this place is truly blends with the nature. And there is a great river view from the room balcony through the greens, which is actually very soothing and mind relaxing. Thanks to this place we were able to get some fresh air & feel the nature. Highly recommended for anyone who truly loves to spend their own time with nature & coziness & specially who loves to take a break from busy hectic day to day life. Moreover, the architecture of this place is phenomenal & every detail gives a natural & mind relaxing vibe, which is a bit hard to explain but which you must experience. Also, since this is located in moratuwa you don't need to go far to experience your leisure time with nature & as well as this place is very convenient from every aspect. ( there is a supermarket near to this, as well as only 5 min to moratuwa town)

The house staff is extremely courteous and helpful. In some other review the staff was described as unfriendly but this must have been somebody else because Mangala was very friendly and made the most amazing fruit platter for us at breakfast. The house has a very light footprint, with air flowing through from front to rear, a large veranda and the entire façade made up of sliding doors. The seamless transition from inside to outside is very pleasant.

There are only two minor things that could be improved: drinking water in glass instead of plastic bottles and as the property is on the water, some bottles and plastic bags get stuck in the water plants immediately beyond the garden. Those should be fished out. I would also try to make a larger gap between the trees facing the water so that you can enjoy the view more.

It was a beautifully planned and constructed house with timber and steel. The view of the river through the garden was spectacular.

The rooms are nice (if you don't mind sleeping without AC) and we got monkeys playing in the trees just of our balcony while having our morning coffee which was really nice!

I booked this based on other reviews about "very good service". Well ... Service was non existent. There's 1 guy wondering around the property day and night (we called him 'the ghost') who doesn't speak a single word, not English not some other language and it is unclear what he's doing there. Probably the in-house care taker of the house while the owner is away. To be honest the guy is more annoying then anything else. No room was cleaned during the day, dishes we just brought to the kitchen ourselves. It's more like an Airbnb but without an equipped kitchen. Couldn't even find a knife to cut a lemon for a drink 🤣🤣 Can't ask 'the ghost' either as he doesn't speak.... And I couldn't be bothered to try with him anymore after 1 day. Very weird. Place is not an Airbnb and definitely not a hotel. It has 2 rooms and the other room wasn't occupied during our stay so there's not many people choosing this place. Then comparing the price. We paid 70USD a night. Not too expensive and you always get what you pay for, right? Well, we're now in a place where we pay 80USD a night and we have 3 people round the clock taking care of us, swimming pool, AC, massage service (cheap) in-house etc etc and this place has only 5 rooms. But they are full all nights.... I have to conclude the place is just surprisingly bad for Sri Lanka value for money, service, and in house services. 35 USD would be a better price and put it on Airbnb instead of on Booking.

Everything was spectacular. The hosts we so wonderful, kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend a stay here. The hosts went above and beyond to help us and welcome us.

Our stay at Ganga Langa was nothing short of magical. Nestled amidst serene surroundings, this property offered the ideal escape for us as a couple seeking tranquillity and relaxation. From the moment we arrived, the warm hospitality and personalised attention to detail made us feel truly welcomed. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed, creating an inviting and cosy atmosphere. The views from the property were stunning – waking up to the gentle sound of nature and the sight of the river was simply breathtaking. The food was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with fresh, local ingredients that delighted our taste buds. The stay at Ganga Langa felt like the perfect romantic retreat. We highly recommend Ganga Langa for couples looking to reconnect and unwind in a beautiful, peaceful setting. It’s a hidden gem we can’t wait to revisit!

Huge amount of delicious food was served in a beautiful place with always helpful Hosts. We were asked what we wanted to eat and drink a day before, our Hosts delivered above our expectations :)

the way nature is involved in the design of the house is splendid, congratulations to the architect !

I missed some privacy for the toilet, maybe add transparent door or heavy curtain?

We are so happy that we selected this place for our honeymoon stay. it was a unforgettable amazing experience. it had an excellent tropical architecture designed by an award winning local architect without harming the natural context. the building had blended with the nature giving an calming and relaxing experience. Captured the views of the Lake, greenery vistas from inside the building almost forgetting that we are in proximity to city. it was so convenient to us that the location is close to main driveways to southern Sri Lanka which was a destination of our journey. We would highly recommend this place.

Very welcoming hosts, great shower, comfortable bed and open plan room with views over a small garden which backed onto the water. Quiet and relaxed setting.

Everything was absolutely brilliant from the room to the food or also the cleanness. But even more exceptional was the service! The young man and his companion were extraordinary friendly a d helpful, we would absolutely recommend that stay.

This is a hidden gem! The design of the building, stylish furnishings and private ensuite bedroom floating in the trees was a real treat! Breakfast was delicious and the check in process was smooth and friendly.
