Very good farm stay
Very serene, peaceful, extremely relaxing. The location and veiw was exceptional. The hosts were very friendly. I really loved that they offered a braai pack to purchase with some wood and side salads. Very convenient and tasted great!
The accommodation's location far from the hustle and bustle of the highway and city was a welcome change after having been travelling for a number of days. Although we arrived at night with the family unable to take in the views on the drive to the farm, they fully warmed up when they got to see how spacious the place was. They immediately declared it the best of the places we had stayed over the festive period road trip we under took (traversing South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe). Family was so happy that they decided they would want to go back for a holiday some time this year.
There is no cellphone reception and I was just praying that we wouldn't have a breakdown during that time of the night as there would be no way to contact our hosts. The good thing is that we had been alerted of this beforehand so perhaps had we not reached the place by a certain time (after telling them we were now on the gravel road- where signal gets lost), they might have come in search of us.
HONESTLY the best view of the stars i have ever seen. Also the scenery en-route to the location was AMAZING
Not the best road but absolutely drivable with all cars.
Just letting you knownits 45kms off the main roadbut worth it
Linda was an incredible host! So friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond and out of her way multiple times to help us. The house itself was spotless and comfortable and had everything you needed. Kids just loved the farm and had the best time.
The owner's hospitality, communication and assistance were constant and so welcoming. They went above and beyond to assist us and make us feel comfortable. The beds felt like clouds after a long day on the road, everything was decorated beautifully. Extra touches made us feel looked after. We will definitely be staying over in the future.
The quietness of the karoo
Nothing
This is a beautiful setting away from everything. Waking up to such a serene environment is priceless. As much as access to the farm is a long gravel road but it's well maintained.
I arrived late and missed the view while driving up the mountain.
Comfortable, clean, very pretty, hosts were friendly and made you feel welcome.
We arrived at night so the road was a bit dark and longer than expected
Booiskraal Farm Stay is neatly tucked away from the N1 in the mountains. Peaceful and tranquil with the most amazing stars at night.
The Hospitality and beautiful scenery.

Very quiet and spectacular area
Use directions as provided by Linda and not modern technology - even though we had a 150km "detour" by not following Lindas' directions, the scenery was unbelievable
A lovely stopover so nice to have a place to ourselves and nicely designed 🙂
very homey and comfortable!
A bit far from main road....
Definitely a good and new experience on a farm. Very cute cottage on the farm.
Very hospitable. Our children loved exploring the farm.
Heerlik gebly, dankie Linda vir jul gasvryheid. So lekker kalm en rus vir jou siel. Sal enige tyd weer besoek.
Everything
The farm was beautiful. Hospitality was excellent. Wonderful experience
Beautifully furninshed
Nothing negative to say
This farm exceeded our expectations ten fold. We wanted to have a bit of a Karoo experience and so booked two nights instead of the conventional one night stop over. In hindsight, we definitely should have booked at least three nights. The farm is stunning, the hosts are amazing, and the accommodation so full of love and attention to detail - we loved every second of our stay. The hosts had all the time in the world for us and gave us an impromptu tour of the sheep shearing station, the farm and their family history. This farm is a destination that is well-worth visiting. Other places worth visiting on the way are Travalia Padstal and the Whistling Bridge Cafe so do make some time for those too! The gravel road is very well maintained and can be driven by a normal car at good speed without any issues.
Nothing that could have been better.
Definately a have to for a full karoo experience. Once booking was confirm the host shared detailed directions and followed up to confirm you arrive safely from the gravel road travelling. The attention to detail for a guest house is exceptional and more. The gravel road is in very good condition and adds to the experience. The hosts are friendly and very helpfull.
The remoteness and quiteness and the clear sky
Everyting
It felt like we stayed in someone else’s home. The cupboards had clothes.
The location of the place is misleading not ideal as a stopover to Cape Town. It’s not in Beaufort west!!!
The Host was very helpful with directions to the farm. They were very kind and accommodating and lovely people. The place we stayed in was beautiful and very clean. We would definitely stay longer next time!
Beautiful views far removed from busy hubs of town.
Very long trip on dirt road
Relaxing farm house experience. Friendly staff and all amenities available in the home. Enough space for my family of 6 with room for more.
It's deep in the Karoo. About a 45min drive through hills and mountains where there is nothing! Make sure you stock up before you go. No cell signal as you navigate towards your destination. It is however a scenic and unforgettable drive on a comfortable dirt road.
Andrew is an excellent host. We had week trouble and he went out of his way to assist us. It is the most beautiful Karoo setting you can ever experience and as a family from the city, the love and generosity was so lovely!
This is an exceptional stay. The gravel road are in excellent condition ( better than the Gauteng paved roads). Owners are amazing, true Karoo hospitality.
Nothing
The host was very friendly and helpful. Place was clean and had a unique aesthetic. Little details like a candy on the towels and the most delicious homemade rusks were provided to us. The area is tranquil and lovely. The cutest dogs came by to greet us as well. I enjoyed the little details that made the place super cozy and homey and it is a very unique experience.
Not that I didn't like it but I think that it should be noted that the area is pretty remote and uses an untarred road and is best suited for larger vehicles such as SUVs, etc.
Very friendly owners and the whole feelng of real farmstay.
Nothing.
Beautiful place and Andrew was welcoming and helpful. Plenty of space for 7 of us. Couldn't fault the place.

Lovely farm stay. Would have loved to stay a little longer for the farm experience. Thanks Andrew for the hospitality.
Everything! Andrew (our host) was lovely and super helpful. The farmhouse is beautifully decorated, spacious and amazingly peaceful! Loved it!!
The dirt road to get there is long but we got to see a lot of wildlife along the drive (giraffes, springbok, ostrich & meerkats) so it was awesome!!
Everything. The rustic look ❤️
The long gravel road to the location
Very friendly host. Situated in a beautiful location far from any main roads.
Peaceful private house to live in.
I loved everything
Firstly, I would like to thank the host, Andrew Jack, what an amazing host, him, and his family are running a wonderful. He immediately after booking contacted me to ensure that I understand how far the place is from the off ramp. If you are driving a small car, brace yourself for an hour of dirt road. Please, drive very slow. Andrew communicates with you all the way and even went as far as meeting my family and I, on the way, as we got there quite late in the area. You will be happy to know that loadshedding doesn't affect him, lol. That is a plus when you are driving with kids and gadgets. Once again, thank you, Andrew. Really appreciate your hospitality. May God bless you with more.
Our host Andrew was authentic and welcoming. The place is tranquil, peaceful and comfortable. The views on the drive from the farm to Beaufort West are stunning.
Nothing to note.
