Pleasant stay, right in the heart of Ballyshannon.

Breakfast service was terribly slow. As a single traveller, I felt I got missed. The staff were very busy, so maybe needed an extra body. No WiFi coverage in the room.

Friendly staff. Spotless clean. Big room with comfortable bed that had a top sheet. Definitely will be back.

Excellent Hotel filled to bursting with olde world charm and elegance. Upon arrival we were bowled over by the quality of the reception and furnishings - the bedroom did not disappoint it was large and spacious with plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space - bathroom was also large with good lighting. We had dinner in their magnificent dining room - the furnishings drapes and chandeliers made it a stunning and enjoyable experience. It felt like going back in time when dining was not just a meal but a journey of delight - the meal was delicious and exceptional - service and friendliness of staff made us feel part of the family - the owner Mary made us feel very welcome and unstinting in generosity.with her time. This Hotel is unique in the sense that they have time for everyone and should be rightly proud of their hospitality product - the owner Mary pointed us in the direction of their family pub the Thatch just a short five minute walk from the Hotel. We had a very enjoyable evening listening to traditional.music in this thatched pub in immaculate condition . The breakfast the next morning was excellent with all tastes catered for. All in all I would thoroughly and highly recommend a stay in this Hotel dating back to 1781!

I Had a wonderful happy stay. The people and facilities were excellent. I met with such kindness and friendliness on my visit to Ballyshannon.

Nothing can be improved on. Everything was excellent.

Location was perfect because we wanted to be able to walk around. It offered parking. They have good hairdryers which is a plus for someone with long hair.

This hotel was very well run and staff were very welcoming.

We stayed here for one night & although the hotel is old & the furnishings a bit dated it was spotless & beautiful. Bed was comfortable, room was large & staff were very friendly. We had an excellent meal in the bar and breakfast was great. Definitely recommend and a good price.

Nice food and especially the wonderful fresh breakfast. The owners and staff were wonderful people. Stay at this hotel and I’ll promise you that you won’t be disappointed.

Felt and looked like it stepped out of the 1980’s, everything was tired. No hot water for a shower when I arrived late afternoon. Expensive for what it provides.

The rooms are so out dated the shower very dangerous having to step in over a bath serious health and safety toilet kept blocking

If we had a walk in shower I fell recently and broke my hip.

Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Wasserhahn hat durchgängig getropft, sowohl Waschbecken als auch Bad.

The opulence, history and obvious love the family have for their hotel. Off street parking. The beautiful decor and furnishings. Central location allowing us to walk everywhere.

It was slightly confusing at night to get in as you have to ring a bell but nothing other than this! Even with this they answered very quickly but it would be nice to know

Shower was fantsatic - great water pressure. Breakfast was excellent and bonus was we were able to join a Saturday night live Irish music show that was being hosted in the pub up the road that the hotel owns.

Husband reckons bed was too small and prefers doonas/quilts to sheets and blankets

Beautifully located in the heart of Ballyshannon, this classic and elegant inn was a delight to be in. The owners were charming and gracious and made us feel we had at home and comfortable. The staff were friendly and efficient. Best pub in Ballyshannon and the food was fantastic!!

Keys a wee bit difficult to work but that goes with the older hotels that we like most.

Traditional full Irish breakfast freshly prepared, but with healthy options of good quality fruit and cereal and wholemeal bread too.

WiFi could have been better, but as a plus, it stopped people from being on their phones all the time.

Overnight stay, very close and convenient to where I needed to be.

It’s was warm, comfortable, lovely dinner and breakfast very good. Staff were extremely friendly. Bar staff were quick serving, reception lady has big smile and restaurant staff were all so nice and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.

There was quite a bit of dust on the furniture in the bedroom. The curtains and general decor is quite dated and the beds are on the small side.
