We booked an apartment in the German Colony for one night during the Jerusalem Film Festival weekend. On the morning of our stay, the owner called to inform us that the original apartment had a toilet blockage and might not be ready. He offered us a “traditional, renovated” apartment in Nachlaot instead and sent pictures that looked nice, so we agreed, even though it was a last-minute change to a different neighborhood. Unfortunately, when we arrived at night, we were very disappointed. The apartment was completely different from what we expected. All the bedrooms were located in a basement with very small windows positioned close to the ceiling, all of them covered with aluminum foil, which made the rooms feel dark and closed off. The small seating area between the bedrooms had no windows or fresh air and was not pleasant to stay in. One of the bathrooms had a shower that was in such poor and creepy condition that we didn’t even use it. Instead, we had to use a tiny shower on the top floor, which was far from any bedroom. There was also no comfortable space to sit together with our friends and relax. Overall, this apartment was not what was promised or shown in the pictures. We felt very uncomfortable and disappointed, and we left first thing in the morning. It was an unpleasant experience that did not meet our expectations.
A really nice and charming house. We definitely try to comeback soon.
