The family were so friendly, the breakfasts were incredible, good air conditioning, lovely gardens with lots of birds, good location with great restaurants and cheap tuk tuk if needed.

Samanthi e la sua famiglia sono persone gentilissime e molto accoglienti. La struttura è in un’ottima posizione, pulitissima, vicina a tutte le attrazioni di Sigiriya e vicina a tanti ristoranti. La colazione è molto abbondante, buonissima e varia. Lei ci ha dato preziose indicazioni e ci ha organizzato il safari a Kaudulla e la visita a Dambulla in tuk tuk. Abbiamo soggiornato tre notti. Siamo arrivate al mattino presto e lei ci ha fatto trovare la camera pronta e ci ha preparato la colazione. Consigliatissimo!!

We stayed 4 nights here and this is the best guesthouse in Sri Lanka. Perfect location. 20 minutes walk to the Lion Rock entrance and plenty good restaurants nearby. The room and bathroom is super clean, new furnished and well equipped. Beautiful garden with lots of plants. Great breakfast with lots of traditional Sri Lanka food and fruits. The host Samanthi is really nice and helpful.

Great location, close to Sigiriya Lion's Rock but on a small road with no traffic noise. Very calm and relaxing within the small garden. Very clean room and excellent AC. Very copious breakfast. The family is really sweet and even dropped us off for Sunrise at Sigiriya in tuk-tuk, at 5 AM! They put us in relation with a good driver we used for the whole trip, and could organize a Safari at Minneriya. Good choice of restaurants on the road.

Liegt super zentral und die Unterkunft organisiert eigene Fahrer/Tuktuks, um morgens an die Felsen zu kommen und wieder zurück. Unser Zimmer war super sauber und ganz neu gebaut inkl. Klimaanlage. Bequemes, großes Kingsize Bett und eine schöne kleine Gartenanlage

This was the best homestay I stayed in Sri Lanka-and I travelled for a month. Room feels very new, garden is very pleasant. AC is very good. Breakfast was really good, we asked for the lasy to not cook much for as since we can never finish it and she gave us a bit of everything! Some traditiinal items I was never given before in Sri Lanka. Finally, the family were extremelly helpful and went above and beyond-they went to Dambulla (30 mins away) to bring something from me!

This was one of my favourite stays in Sri Lanka! The guesthouse is owned by the kindest family, who made me feel incredibly welcome from the moment I arrived. The room was spotless, spacious, air-conditioned, and had a very comfortable bed, along with everything I needed for a perfect stay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the beautiful, peaceful garden was the perfect place to relax. Sashini and her husband arranged my safari as well as tuk-tuk transportation to Lion Rock and Pidurangala. Everything was organised seamlessly and was much easier than booking online, so I highly recommend arranging these activities through them. The location is excellent too—within walking distance of several restaurants and only a short tuk-tuk ride from all the main attractions. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

We waren met een gezin met drie (soms wat aanwezige kinderen). We voelden ons meer dan welkom, het voelde hier als een tweede thuis. Wat een lieve familie, die er alles aan doen om het verblijf onvergetelijk te maken. Het ontbijt is heerlijk, allerlei zelf gemaakte hapjes en iedere dag anders. De kamer is groot (4 persoons) met een fijne badkamer. De tuin laat je genieten van allerlei vogels, soms aapjes en bijzondere insecten. De mooiste plantjes en bloemen staan op ieder hoekje, een heerlijk zitje om te lezen of spelletjes te spelen. De locatie is geweldig, allerlei restaurantjes om de hoek en dichtbij de lion rock!

Tout était absolument parfait. Samanthi est une personne chaleuheureuse, attentionnée et accueillante. Elle et son mari nous ont fait passer un merveilleux séjour. Le logement est parfaitement bien situé, à proximité de tout. La chambre et la salle de bain étaient propres et spacieuses. Les petits déjeuners étaient préparés avec amour et gentillesse et vraiment délicieux ! C’est un endroit calme, paisible et rempli de sérénité. Nous le recommandons vivement !

Wir haben drei Nächte hier verbracht und einen herrlichen Aufenthalt genossen. Der Garten ist zauberhaft, das Zimmer gut ausgestattet – inklusive Moskitonetz und Klimaanlage. Unsere Gastgeberin war sehr herzlich: Nach Rückkehr von Ausflügen verwöhnte sie uns jeweils mit Kaffee oder Tee (sogar aus Blüten vom eigenen Garten) und Gebäck. Zwischendurch schenkte sie uns traditionelle Früchte und war sehr liebenswürdig - auch mit unseren Kindern (5 und 10 Jahre). Wir können diesen Ort wärmstens empfehlen und würden sofort wieder kommen — unsere beiden Kinder hätten am liebsten gleich dort bleiben wollen. 🥰

Velká a chutná lokální snídaně, kde nám ji paní popsala. Velmi klidné, čisté, prostorné, pohodlné, klimatizace, větrák. Velké pozitivum: moskytiéra a fén na ubytování. Moc milá paní. Skvělá poloha - kousek od Sigiriya.

Nestálé připojení k Wi-Fi, připojení jsme byli pořád, ale čas od času vypadl internet. (Nejspíš to bylo tím, že se to tam opravovalo)

Brand new beautiful room at prime location which is walkable distance to Museum office at Sigiriya. Property owner is customer friendly and arranged tasty breakfast, coffee for us! They also arranged for local safari, which was not in our original plan. I would highly recommend this place for your visit to Sigiriya!!

Such a lovely stay! Room and bathroom were clean and beds super comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious and lots of it! The family there was so accommodating and helpful. In a great location with restaurants / cafes near by but really relaxing and quiet with the surrounding gardens. We had almost a private section to ourselves where we could chill outside. 100% recommend!!

Værelserne var utrolig rene. Mega lækker og stor morgenmad, hun lavede en bananjuice da hun så jeg ikke drak the eller kaffe. Hun var virkelig hjælpsom og sød. Stedet lå meget tæt på Sigiriya Rock.

Wir haben zwei Nächte im Moonlight Home in Sigiriya verbracht und hatten eine rundum wunderbare Zeit. Das Homestay war sehr sauber und gepflegt, man hat sich sofort wohlgefühlt. Die Besitzer sind unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit – man merkt, dass ihnen das Wohl ihrer Gäste wirklich am Herzen liegt. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den Tuk-Tuk-Service: Gegen ein kleines Entgelt wurden wir zuverlässig überall hingefahren und haben dabei viele interessante Informationen zur Umgebung erhalten. Das hat unseren Aufenthalt noch einmal deutlich bereichert. Das Frühstück war mehr als reichhaltig und liebevoll zubereitet – es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Insgesamt war wirklich alles perfekt organisiert. Wir können das Moonlight Home uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Moonlight Home. It is located in a very peaceful place. We loved listening to all the birds in the morning and evening. The breakfast was amazing and the host was super friendly and organized various transfers for us as well as a cooking class on short notice.

It was beautiful, the room was very spacious and clean. The facilities were perfect, the breakfast was delicious. They were very helpful in arranging transport for us to Pidurangala and then on to Kandy. They had a cute dog, Ruby! It was a very wonderful stay!

Besonders toll fanden wir die Hilfe bei unserer Planung und die Fahrten mit dem Tuk-Tuk zu verschiedenen Ausflugszielen. Insgesamt hatten wir einen wirklich schönen Aufenthalt. Wij hebben twee nachten mogen slapen in deze geweldige HomeStay. De locatie is een 10 waard, maar bovenal de mevrouw die alles verzorgd verdient een dikke 10. Ze wil alles voor je doen. De usual activiteiten organiseren, maar ze heeft ook allerlei adresjes voor de wensen waarmee jij komt. Wij wilden graag naar een spa en een wood carving workshop volgen. In geen 5 minuten had ze dit voor je geregeld. Hier hoeft ze niks voor terug, ze wil vooral dat jij een leuke tijd het. We hebben een aantal dingen via mevrouw laten regelen en een aantal zelf, wat ze ook helemaal prima vindt. En dan nog het ontbijt!! Zorg dat je niet al te veel uiteten gaat in Sigiriya want ze maakt elke ochtend verschillende Sri Lankaanse hapjes in veelvoud. Wij baalden telkens weer dat we niet alles op kregen ;) Al met al een aanrader om hier je volledige verblijf in Sri Lanka te overnachten!!

Everything! A beautiful, peaceful location but close to the main road and restaurants. Room was spotless. There is a lovely verandah to chill out on. Welcome tea and coffee and a massive breakfast. They helped organise transport and gave us umbrellas when it rained. Wish we could have stayed longer as it was a great place to unwind.

Tout ! L'endroit est super bien placé, idéal pour rayonner. La chambre est propre et la literie confortable,le jardin est dépaysant. Notre hôte nous a servi de très bon petit déjeuners chaques jours différents. Elle nous a également aidé à préparer nos activité sur place (cours de cuisine Sri Lankaise, safari avec un super chauffeur, conseils pour Lion Rock, visite de Dambulla). Son mari nous a même conduit dans son tuk tuk !

It was a beautiful property with lovely gardens and the host was so kind offering us tea and coffee. The room was the cleanest place we have stayed in. Spotless and lovely extra touches to make us feel comfortable. Best stay in Sri Lanka so far. Breakfast was good too.

The house has a lovely veranda and it it surrounded by a beautiful garden. The hosts were very attentive and I had lovely food, too.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Samanti and her family are very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. The breakfast was amazing, delicious and varied, and plentiful!! We had dinner there both nights of our stay, Sri Lankan curry with roti/noodles. Tasty selection of vegetable side dishes and chicken. Samanti has a beautiful, garden that surrounds the house, which is in a quiet location just off the main road. And in one of her hanging baskets on the veranda, a little honey eater bird had made a nest. We watched as the mother came to and from to feed two young ones. Samanti's husband has a tuktuk, which was very handy for getting to and from Lion rock, not too far away.

One of the best guesthouses in our whole Sri Lanka stay. Samanthi and her husband are very kind and welcoming. The room is huge and has a fan, good aircon and mosquito net. The bathroom is also a good size and has plenty of hot water with great pressure. Samanthi prepared big breakfasts that were different each day. She was very helpful with tips about our trips and her husband transported us in his tuk tuk for a very competitive price. He waited for us in the rain when we got off the bus from Pollonawaru to drive us back to the guesthouse. The guesthouse has a very happy family atmosphere and opposite the private balcony is a beautiful garden that the owners take great pride in. Highly recommend this accommodation for your stay in Sigiraya. ❤️

One of the best places we stayed at in Sri Lanka! - Room was very clean, big and spacious. - Drying rack as well as a table in the room. - Property is off the main road so we had slept great each night as it was quiet. The beds both had mosquito nets above them. - The A/C worked perfectly. - Shower had hot water with good pressure. - Shampoo, shower gel, hand soap and bath towels all provided. - Comfortable seating area with tables outside the room. - Breakfast was large, different and delicious each morning. Coffee, tea, sugar and creamer available at any time throughout the day. - Owners were nice and friendly and always made sure we had everything needed. We were greeted with a delicious lime drink when we first arrived as well as midday.

Samanthi is a great hostess. She cooked lovely Sri Lankan breakfast and was always helpful when we made any enquiries. She made sure there was hot tea when we returned in the afternoon. Highly recommend the location for it's go to the lion rock and local restaurants.

A homestay with one room for travellers. (There is a second for drivers.) The facility is one year old (March 2025). Spacious neat room and new bathroom. A terrace with an outdoor lounge, with a lot of plants and decoration from local craft. The host Samanti has made much effort to make a cosy place of the homestay. Very quiet place - you hear only the sound of birds. Tea, coffee and drinking water the whole day. Extensive and delicious breakfast and dinner. The husband is also tuktukdriver. Both are very friendly, sincere and caring. They make the house to a little paradise in Sigiriya.

I had the best stay of my whole trip across Sri Lanka at the Moonlight. For a start, my hosts and their family were just very lovely, kind and helpful people. Add to that, there were beautiful gardens surrounding the house, with lots of bird life, and an overly comfortable room with a great air con, powerful pedestal fan, and hot water for the shower. The whole place was spotlessly keen and well maintained. I loved the location which was close to many restaurants, and the entrance to the 2 Rocks, although you may not want to eat anywhere else as the meals were delicious at the house. Breakfast was ample and set me up very well for the day. I'm raving, but truly, the Moonlight is just a fantastic place to stay and I can't recommend it enough. I hope to be back one day!

We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed more. Bedroom was massive with great AC and comfy beds. Would highly recommend.

This stay is truly superb, and I say this on my fourth visit to Sri Lanka, each tome for over three weeks, and second to Sigiriya. Lovely hosts and family, shy cat and dogs. We got on really well. Location is absolutely tops. Close (40m) to 2nd rated TripAdvisor restaurant in Sigiriya and to entrance for foreignors to Lion Rock, as well as many other optios amd a grocery. The gorgeous garden is a true pleasure - enjoy from the tastefully decorated wide verandah which you don't really share with any other guests! Cleanliness cannot be faulted. Great spacious room and beatifully fitted with sockets everywhere. Excellent AC. Quality linen and towels, a rarity. Shower is hot and good water pressure. Bathroom spacious spotless and a pleasure. WiFi is fine. We were greeted with tea or coffee when we arrived much earlier than check in time. Breakfast was delicious, and dinner an option. Our hosts helped with a competitive quote for next transfer and could not be more helpful in anything we asked about. I am already recommending this place to other travellers.

Very nice place with lovely hosts

This place was incredible. From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and comfortable. The gardens are absolutely gorgeous and due to the heavy rain when we visited we spent a lot of time drinking tea and sitting on the covered porch. The hosts were very attentive and available but not over bearing. They gave us tuk tuk rides at a good price to pidurangala rock and Sigiriya rock. The room was spotless and so comfortable. We’ve been in Sri Lanka now for 2 weeks and this was our favourite accommodation.

I think there was a spray used on the linens which was a bit too strong of a scent for us, but this could easily be improved and didn’t hinder our stay.

The Lady Owner is a great and very friendly. She makes sure that guests are very well treated and happy. She cook fantastic Sri Lankan cuisine with love. She has a nice smile every time she meets with the guests. Simple be there and feel home.

Amazing host, kind and a lovely family. Air-con room was spacious, very clean, and with comfy beds. Good size bathroom with hot shower. A well designed room with plugs strategically placed for convenience. Breakfast was really good, kids loved the coconut roll. Garden around the home is really beautiful. Convenient location, just a couple of minutes walk out to the Main Street with restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend booking at Sigiriya Moonlight Home. We would book again.

Samanthi's homestay felt like a home from home. The room smelt lovely and fresh as soon as you entered. Huge double beds, very clean. Surroundings were amazing. Set in a residential area with neighbours going about their everyday jobs. We had our best night's sleep here. Breakfast was amazing and Samanthi made sure we had a different dish on each day. Great host, amazing room and we would definitely recommend to other people. Thanks Samanthi and family.
