Reviewed Sep 19, 2026Clean and comfortable stay after hiking the pekoe trail all day - only a short distance off the trail Owner was friendly Food was delicious
Dinner was a bit expensive but the only option in Sapugolla village Extra 10% service fee was charged which was never mentioned before or during our stay. When we asked what it was for, the owner said it was for the room upgrade (he offered us on arrival because we were the only guests), the “free” water & coffee and for service of the meals (on top of the food price) which made it feel like we were paying for him to accompany us at meals

Reviewed Aug 2, 2025Beautiful quiet location close to the Pekoe Trail. The host and his family could not have been more kind and welcoming. The guesthouse is well appointed and very comfortable . We had dinner and breakfast here. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Highly recommended 👌 and great value.

Reviewed Jun 2, 2025My brother and I stayed here for one night while walking the Pekoe Trail. It is a very comfortable and well equipped. The location is peaceful. We ate our breakfast & dinner in the family home - these were homecooked meals & delicious. The owner, Mr Dharmasena, was exceptionally generous & warm. I would recommend staying here - wish we had stayed longer.
Note to those walking the Pekoe Trail - this place is just off the trail outside of Lunawatte so factor this in to your hiking plans! The owner kindly dropped us off at the start of the trail the next day.

Reviewed Jan 26, 2025Located on a beautiful plantation. The hospitality here was wonderful. We ate traditional Sri Lankan food in the family home & the owner was really friendly & welcoming. He told us all about the history of the plantation & even dropped us back into town the next morning to continue our hike on the Pekoe Trail. The hot water here is solar powered - just something to be aware of. For us it wasn't an issue - the owner boiled us some water for washing, which we were happy with.
