Riad Restaurant MARZOUK

The Riad is easy to find and drive to (currently involves a short stretch of dry riverbed or gravel track which wasn't problematic). The location is very convenient for a walk - via the oasis - to the gorge. Walking within the oasis is pleasant for the temperature - be prepared to take many dead-ends (all part of the experience, which was great). The host was very pleasant. We had dinner one evening as well as the provided breakfasts - not exceptional but good. Parking was on-site and sits in the sun most of the day. Overall good value for money.

The AC was totally ineffective and it was very hot - it was better to have the windows and curtains open thru the night and benefit from late night noises followed by 2am cockerels and then early calls to prayer. We may have been unlucky with the AC before it gets cleaned but the nights sleep were not good.

Very friendly people, that tried to make it as comfortable as possible.

The airco didn't really cool down much. The bedsheets were from some kind of polyester which made you sweat even more.

The hotel was lovely. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant which was great. Everything was comfortable and we felt at home.

Very friendly hosts, we’ve had great conversations on the roof terrace after dinner. They gave us many tips and even offered a private tour for a very good price which we sadly couldn’t do because of our travel timing. Breakfast and dinner was very delicious and plenty. We highly recommend this place for your stay here.

Super friendly family, hygienic rooms and tasty diner and breakfast. The family’s son had his birthday party and we even got some cake to celebrate. Would recommend Riad Marzouk to everyone who is looking for a cosy and affordable stay close to Todgha Gorges.

Schönes Restaurant im Erdgeschoss des Riats, sehr freundliches Personal, sehr leckeres Frühstück

Nachts ist es aufgrund der vielen Tiere rundherum (insbesondere Hähne und Hunde) sehr laut. Sogar mit Oropacks hört man sie. Fenster schließen ist leider keine Option, da ansonsten der Geruch aus dem Bad (Abfluss) unerträglich ist. Der Geruch stellt eine massive Belästigung dar. Ich weiß nicht, wie man es im Sommer bei hohen Temperaturen dort aushalten soll.

Nice riad close to the Todra gorge, you can easily walk there. Very friendly staff and good dinner options and a rich breakfast.

The room had a bit of a smell and we could not get the shower right so had cold water. We should have adressed these things immediately but were too occupied with our ill kid. They were very friendly in helping with some white rice and other stomachfriendly options :-) Like we read in previous reviews: we also encountered begging children after buying some things at a local shop. You cannot blame them and this is also not the fault of the riad.

Riad semplice, essenziale e pulito , bellissimo contesto tipico in stile marocchino, ma il punto forte sono Zaid e lo staff che rendono il soggiorno veramente accogliente e divertente, ci siamo sentiti come a casa in famiglia, complimenti per la grande e meravigliosa ospitalità, l'ottima cena e per la bella serata in compagnia! Fantastisch gastvrij verblijf! Heel leuke lokale wandeling gemaakt en een ritje met de pickup naar de Todra Kloof dat voor iedereen een heel toffe ervaring was!

Zaid est un hôte très chaleureux, avec de bon conseil pour les balades et visite des sites proches. Repas et petits déjeuners très copieux. Très belle décoration.

La route d'accès au site un peu caillouteuse, mais rien de dramatique non plus.

De Riad is rustig gelegen maar wel dicht bij de Toudgha kloof, een toeristische trekpleister. Het hotel zelf is heel eenvoudig opgezet, het personeel maakt hier het positieve verschil. Het diner is lekker en verzorgd tegen een faire prijs.

De kamers zijn te rudimentair vergeleken met de prijs die men vraagt. Bij het ontbijt kregen we brood dat absoluut niet vers was, spijtig want lekker brood maakt bij een ontbijt echt wel het verschil.

We had an amazing time. A very nice location close to the Todra Gorge. The staff was super friendly and the food was fantastic; I think it was the best food we had in Morocco. Definitely recommended!

We liked the location. The host was very gentle since we arrived for the check in. We were very hungry and they prepared our dinner very quickly. They were very flexible despite it was late night. It was a good spot to spend overnight and recharge for the next day.

The bed sheets were kind of thick and stiff. Beyond this, everything was good.

Es war eine wunderschöne Unterkunft, sehr gut gelegen. Yassin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen im Restaurant ist sehr lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder 😊

Lo mejor de todo sin duda, Maruah la chica que nos atendió durante nuestra estancia. Amable , atenta y eficiente. La comida es excepcional, de las mejores que probamos en nuestro paje por Marruecos. Las instalaciones están nuevas, y el detalle de los nombres de las habitaciones nos encantó.

Por decir algo, los colchones son un poco duras , y el baño no tiene enchufe para el secador, pero se soluciona con el enchufe de la habitación .

De hosts maken het verblijf onvergetelijk. Ze doen er alles aan om je het naar de zin te maken en weten alles over de prachtige omgeving. Wij hebben een aantal uur een hike gemaakt met Yasin en dit was een absolute aanrader. Het zijn enthousiaste, bevlogen en lieve mensen.

De kamer kan wat sfeerverlichting gebruiken en de badkamers zijn wat gedateerd. Het uitzicht op de bergen vanuit je kamer maakt echter veel goed.

Struttura ben tenuta e fedele alla tradizione marocchina come colori ed arredamento. Anche l’accoglienza si é dimostrata all’altezza come la gentilezza dello staff e in particolare della cuoca. A circa 1 km dalle gole (si possono raggiungere a piedi anche passando per un sentiero lungo fiume che però non si trova facilmente.

Situata di fronte ad una kasbah in un’area un po’ decadente.

Bardzo sympatyczny rodzinny riad, położony w samym sercu Wąwozu Todra, z perfekcyjną komunikacją. Pokoje niewielkie, ale wystarczające, wyposażone w niezbędne udogodnienia i klimatyzację (ogrzewanie - byliśmy w grudniu). W restauracji należącej do riadu zjedliśmy świetny tradycyjny obiad i bardzo dobre śniadanie. Pani gospodyni była bardzo uprzejma i pomocna! Czuliśmy się jak w domu!

In einem von unseren Zimmern gab es nur eiskaltes Wasser, was im Januar schlecht ist. Zudem war das Bett schmutzig. Das Badezimmer war für den Preis nicht akzeptabel. Der Geruch des Abflusses war unausstehlich. Der Bettbezug hat sich in der Nacht gelöst. Schade war auch das sie unsere Buchung erst sahen als wir bereits spät abends ankamen.

Bless these people! We had a wonderful time and felt very lucky to have found this place. The area is gorgeous, and so is the view from the place (sunrise one side, sunset the other). The restaurant is very good, the room nice and clean and warm in winter. The food in the restaurant is very good, and the breakfast was so rich and tasty! Most importantly: people here have been incredibly nice. One of us did not feel well, and they really took care of us and went each possible extra step to help. We are so grateful!

Překrásné, tradičně zdobené a perfektně čisté všechny prostory, v pokoji velmi teplo a horká voda kdykoliv k dispozici, přestože venku v noci mrzlo (klimatizace), v jídelně vždy ohřívací lampy a krásné vůně v celém domě. Bohaté snídaně a velký výběr večerních jídel, všechno lahodné, chutné, servírované naší velmi laskavou a zářivě usměvavou hostitelkou. Připadali jsme si jako milovaní členové rodiny. Týden byl málo, určitě se vrátíme.

The property is clean and well maintained. Loved the appearance, calm and pleasant. With a beautiful view of mountains. The staff take care of you like you are their family. I would like to share one incident, one of our group member had his birthday when we arrived at the property, within 45 min they baked cake for him and celebrated his birthday without any prior notice. That was a very sweet gesture. All in all the best recommended property to stay in tinghir.

A great place to spend a night near the Todra gorge. We were welcomed by a lady, who spoke English very well. There is a very good restaurant downstairs with good choices of Marrocan cuisine. The room was warm and clean. We could not wish more.

The staff was great. Delicious food and Yasin took us on a great hike. Challenging but so worth it! He knows every path in de mountains! Also the rooms were clean. Perfect location, +- 10 mins walk to Togda Gorge.

The bathroom was so cold! (But yeah, that’s what you get in December haha)

Le Riad est très beau et propre, on s’y sent bien Le point fort est le personnel, les propriétaire sont très gentils et se coupent en quatre pour répondre aux demandes. Très souriants et généreux. On a apprécié le fait de nous voir proposé des activités, mais sans insistance ni déception en cas de refus. On y mange aussi très bien et il est bien situé par rapport à la palmeraie et à une belle balade dans les gorges. Allez-y les yeux fermés, vous serez en de bonnes mains !

La struttura è nuova e il personale giovane. Stanze generose e pulite, cena con buone possibilità di scelta. Abbiamo ricevuto indicazioni utili e interessanti per la visita dei dintorni, oltre che aver concordato un accompagnamento alle gole e nel palmeto (entrambe abbastanza vicine alla struttura). Bella esperienza. In complesso siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti, ma in particolare una sottolineatura va al personale giovane, accogliente, sorridente che ci ha aiutato ad avere un buon soggiorno.

Un po' più di luce elettrica sia negli spazi comuni che in camera.

The property is located close to the gorge, giving it a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a home. I met the family upon arrival. The room is small, and since we arrived late, we went to sleep immediately, so the basic amenities didn't bother us. However, the shower in the bathroom is a drawback; it is small and does not appear clean. They provide slippers to wear while using the shower, and it's advisable to use them because the floor can be slippery and slimy. I’m glad I brought my own rubber slippers. Breakfast consists of typical Moroccan fare: plain bread, boiled eggs, and orange juice. The location is convenient as it is on the way to Merzouga, which served our purpose well.

Wat een warm welkom, enorm vriendelijke mensen en een prachtige riad vlakbij de Todghakloof. We kwamen moe aan na onze lange reis en konden hier heerlijk bijkomen en uitrusten. Het menu is divers en het eten is heerlijk. Dankjewel voor het fijne verblijf bij jullie! We kunnen het aan iedereen aanraden.

Excellent Food

Water heating long time, Inability to go sleep due to guests having gun till midnight (sth common in Morocco) unfortunately affecting visitors due to open space from the restaurants to the rooms.

Very welcoming vibe. “Of course you can, this is your house.” Delicious dinner in the restaurant. They requested to give our choice for dinner in advance so we didn’t have to wait for too long. Delicious breakfas with fresh orange juice. We could leave our luggage after check-out to go for our hike.

Little smell in the bathroom. Fabric of bed sheets was a bit weird (gave light in the dark when I rubbed my fingers over it).

Amazing location, great food and wonderful hosts!! It was a fantastic stay!!

We arrived late at night, but the staff was already waiting for us outside. They were extremely hospitable and they invited us to go on a 3 hour hike with another couple the next day, visiting a nomad family and returning through the Gorge. Breakfast was plentiful, room was clean and had AC/HC, shower had good pressure and hot water. You could see that amenities had been recently renovated. If it were not for them we would have missed some of the most amazing experiences during our trip to Morocco, including having tea with a Nomad man. We would definitely return.

The only comment for improvement is about the shower head. Because it was smaller it was a bit more difficult to shower. That said, we had good pressure and hot water.

Friendly family who want to make sure you get the best possible time. Location is very authentic and close to Todra gorge. Recently refurbished so all looks great.

The staff was particularly nice and attentive! Every “bad” thing someone had complained about in other reviews has been addressed e.g. a heater in the dining room or shampoo in the bathroom. The rooms were clean and the place designed with love. The Mountain View was nice too

Room was very spacious. Building is brand new. Good view of the surrounding gorge from the room windows and rooftop. Close to the via ferrata. Able to park right in front of the riad. Restaurant inside the riad was very convenient. The owners let us know that they had just opened and were very open to feedback.

There was no shower curtain around the shower so the bathroom got very wet and slippery after showering. The hose to the shower head had a hole in it so water came out of the hose instead of the shower head but we let the staff know so hopefully it got fixed. I would recommend providing shampoo/conditioner/shower gel not just hand soap.

Newly and fully renovated with vibrant colors and well-appointed settings. We liked it being very close to the gorge, giving us a great headstart for the day to enjoy the entire day of activities. Marwa the host was very kind and accommodating to our needs. Food was great and abundant. Would definitely recommend.

Booked this accomodation last minute after our long hike around the todra gorge. Felt very welcomed at Riad Marzouk. Great people who were very hospitable. The Riad is open for just a few months. The food was amazing, great harira and mains with lots of vegetables, especially the goat tajine was delicious. Room was spacious and nice.

Fabric of the bed was a bit slipperly and the bathroom can use an extra light

A very nice riad operated by a very friendly family. The house is very close to the Gorge and has a nice terrace on the roof. The house was only opened recently and therefore everything is generally in good condition. We were served a very good breakfast in the morning.

The water boiler started to provide water with inconsistent temperatures after some water was used. This was a minor annoyance though since it only required to adjust the temperature periodically.

A very nice and comfortable riad, with Zaid, our host, being a good spirit of it. We were welcomed and hosted with great attention, everything was really clean, quite new and comfortable. Both dinner (10EUR) and breakfast were really good. We had some issue with hot water, but it was quickly resolved. The place is a walking distance from main viewpoint of Todgha gorges. One of the best riads with reasonable prices.

The main issue was (I mean it) really cold dinning room. The building has a nice design with high ceiling, probably great in summer, but in winter (December) it was impossible to heat it up, so we had to eat in jackets and food was getting cold quite fast. Other than that great value for the price.

We had an amazing 2 night stay at this place. Honestly, it was quite unexpected. The Marzouk family was extremely hospitable and tried to do everything to make the stay convenient, comfortable and memorable. Highly recommended. Added benefits are location and in-house restaurant serving really good meals.
