Friendly hosts. Accommodating our needs for downstairs room. Very comfortable bed.

Lack of basics, eg no rubbish bin in room, no crockery or cutlery (was offered but we used our own) no microwave to heat food. No juice, fruit with cereal, or choice of bread to toast, or serviettes at breakfast.

The accommodation was extremely clean and the hosts were friendly.

Very nice host, friendly and helpful. Very clean room. Quiet place. Nice beach nearby and 10 minutes walk the smallest activ church from New Zealand. I enjoyed the stay. Thank you. 😊

Perfect spot to stop on the way up the coast! Gorgeous view, lovely big comfortable rooms. Hosts were amazing, even got up at 4am to put on the Scotland v All Blacks game live and watch with my husband!

They gave us a room on the ground level, which was good because of mobility issues. They had a chairlift to use for the stairs, but we opted out.

Very cold room with a concrete floor. There was an oil heater to use, though, which took the edge off.

Very caring & committed hosts. Have never experienced better hosts. Bed was heaven (& we're rather fussy about our bed). Spotlessly clean. Warm. Hospitality exceptional and the location was brilliant. Highly recommend

That we were unable to stay longer

I loved the location! The bed was very comfortable. The host was friendly.

Poor communication. The information on booking.com and website and in-room information is inadequate. Nothing about breakfast being available or about how to get to the cafe on foot, which was dangerous with crossing the narrow road bridge and I only discovered a safe way by watching what the locals were doing. There needs to be a warning notice in the room. Also (travelling as a solo woman), I was unable to lock my outside door except on the inside and my room adjoined the rest of the house with doors into the hall from both the room and the bathroom, which weren't lockable. It didn't matter as it seemed quite safe with me the only guest, but it would depend on who other guests were. Maybe the description as 'lodge' should have cued me that this was not a motel. Also, the room was described as ground floor but was up a flight of outside steps. There was a stair lift, but that's not the same as being on the ground floor. I could manage the steps but other guests could find that an issue.

Host were extremely welcoming, the rooms were comfortable and the area quiet.

Let's just say the bathroom 'could be improved!!' Very imaginative to squeeze in there, but some improvements, please. Cannot open shower door without going back into bedroom (Twin sliding/folding would sort that. Didn't spoil our stay, certainly gave us a laugh!

Nothing - perfect for what we needed it for.

We booked very last minute and late in the evening from the Picton ferry. Communication was prompt and they made checking in after hours so easy. There is a gorgeous cafe across the road on the beachfront

The accomodation is outside of Blenheim but made our travel to Christchurch the next day so easy. Would highly recommend staying, the location is breathtaking. Note- download anything you want to watch as it has no reception and wifi isn’t fast enough, however when you see the location you will understand why.

Clean, spacious and incredibly friendly and generous hosts. It was all very last minute as we couldn’t get to our original booking elsewhere due to a forest fire. Breakfast an unexpected bonus

The location (right off Hwy 1), the view of the ocean from the kitchen (which we were able to use to make our dinner) and Carla and Glen who are super nice.

That we couldn’t stay longer but had to be on our way.

The online description and photos of this accommodation didnt do it justice. Glenn and Carla were exceptionally welcoming and friendly. The property was very clean and comfortable and extremely well appointed. We wouldnt hesitate to book here again.

Took a bit of exercise to get in and out of the shower cabin ;) otherwise great!

Despite claiming only a shared bathroom, our suite had a private bathroom, including shower. I'm not sure if the others did. Lodge has a well equipped full kitchen and good wifi.

Our hosts were friendly and accommodating, especially as arrive very late in the evening. It was a perfect location after arriving in Picton at 7:30pm on the Interislander.

Location to our friends camping , location to the Store, great coffee. Across the road from the sea. The owners of the lodge made us feel welcome in there home quarters. The continental breakfast was amble. Very relaxing & restful place to stay.

Carla & Glen were amazing hosts. We felt like queens. We had a nice room but we also made ourselves completely at home in their kitchen & lounge. Glen had a great fire going. We totally loved it !

The location was perfect. Literally, right off the highway but very quiet. Breakfast was basic toast, cereal, jams, etc. Bathroom was a tight fit but hot water and water pressure were fine. The door to the hallway either had no lock or it was inoperable which made 2 female travelers a bit uncomfortable.

Great location and superb hosts. Made to feel incredibly welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Nice cafe on the coast line is immediately opposite.

Omg, one of our best one night stays ever. The hosts were amazing, super friendly and interesting. Such a lovely house and we felt so comfortable to 'make ourselves at home' while still having a private, comfortable room. Well worth the effort to drive that little bit further out of town. Thanks guys.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge and it began the moment we arrived. The owners welcomed us warmly and, as we had cycled all day to get to it and did not realise that the store across the street (which is in fact not a store) would be closed, we had no food for the evening. Without a moment's hesitation the owners arranged a nice supper for us, including a salad picked fresh from their garden. We spent an interesting evening chatting with them as well as another couple of local New Zealanders staying at the lodge. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean, and there is a nice deck to sit out on. The location, right near the beach, is a perfect stop for cyclists on the way from Picton to Kaikoura, and we can highly recommend it!

Breakfast was a good and varied continental style with good conversation. Ready when we needed it. The location was great for breaking our journey. Easy to locate just off main road. Loved atmosphere, natural surroundings and access to sea side.

En suite was a little small but met our needs and was not a shared facility.

Really steep stairs to get up to the room. The description of the bathroom for the room we stayed in is fairly generous! In reality it is a converted wardrobe. Not good enough!

Carla and Glen were the most wonderful and welcoming hosts. They opened their house to us, making sure we had everything we could possibly need and offering more.... Exceptional place to stay, far superior to many other B&B places. Beautiful room. Ensuite bathroom. Kitchen facilities, dining area, lounge area, TV, reading space, garden, dog friendly, easy access to the beach, breakfast included, tea and coffee facilities, plus more I have not mentioned, I'm sure. Just loved our 2 nights here, wished we had longer... would recommend to everyone. Thank you Carla and Glen for your wonderful hospitality.
