Zia Homestay

The host upgraded me to a bigger room with two beds that was separate from the other rooms, which I really appreciated because a big group of young people checked in and were drinking and playing music at night but I was far away from the noise. The room was quite big and had everything I needed like water dispenser, frigde, kettle, cups, etc. I also really liked that there was a yoga mat. The host and her brother were very nice and helpful. A cute cats were a plus. I stayed about a week and was comfortable. I would stay here again if I go back to Burgos.

The main downside were the cockroaches in the bathroom. They weren't a huge problem after I sprayed but they would still show up here and there. I hope they can solve this issue because it was the only thing I really I had an issue with. Other minor things would be the lack of a board rack. I put my board on the spare bed so it was fine. The wifi wasn't consistent but it's kind of expected on an island like Siargao so not a big problem for my purposes.

Comfortable communal chill out balcony to escape the afternoon heat. A small honesty store in the kitchen provides drinks and snacks , just write on the notepad what you have or are about to consume. Very nice approachable brother and sister that run this place.

Ik heb gedurende mijn verblijf 3 verschillende kamers gezien, allemaal super netjes en comfortabel. Echt wen aanrader om te verblijven! Eigenaar is ook echt super lief. Daarnaast ook fijn dat er een keuken aanwezig is om bijvoorbeeld ontbijt te maken.

I’ve been travelling for 1 year and Zia Homestay is the best place I’ve stayed! The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and full of thoughtful details. The quality/price ratio is excellent. The common areas are also great, with spaces to relax and socialise, a fully equipped kitchen and a cute garden. I have to do a lot of video calls for work and the WiFi works perfectly. The town is nicer than General Luna and from the homestay you are just a one‑minute walk from the beach. But the best thing of all is the owners. They do everything they can to make your stay a great experience. They genuinely helped me a lot with an emergency I had. They are really kind people and very nice to chat with. If I come back to the Philippines, I will definitely stay at Zia again. Thank you so much for everything :)

The hosts were lovely and welcoming. They gave us fantastic recommandations for things to do, see and eat! The location is in a beautiful small town with a real community feel, with lots a great places nearby to visit. We loved the location and Zia’s Homestay!

Had everything we needed!

Nicely done rooms, even though very small and toilets were so tight. But there's hot water in the shower, and there's a water dispenser with both hot and cold drinking water. There are sitting areas outside, with electric fans, and in the garden. The kitchen is so well equipped and more than complete, there was even an air fryer and a blender. We weren't able to make use of it but it would have been nice to prepare meals there, especially considering there are at least two stalls selling fruits and vegetables nearby, a meat shop across the road, and the fish market is within walking distance. The homestay is centrally located in northern Siargao, with short travelling distance to Algeria Beach in the north, and Pacifico Beach and Magpupungko to the south. There is a nice beach, as well, just a block away from the homestay. There are also many eating places nearby, although most of them were closed at the time we were there. But we had good grilled dinners at Beshie's. We were taken around by Jonathan, one of the owners, in his bao bao, who was a very able driver and tour guide. We were able to see many places in the area in just one full day.

Not the homestay's fault, but it's a bit difficult to get to and from Burgos. Public transportation is rare, so you are at the mercy of tricycle drivers who quote very hefty fares. But I'd like to return to Burgos, which is very, very laid back compared to General Luna, and I would want to book in this homestay again.

The property is located just as you come into the Burgos village, it's a very quiet and relaxed town with some good food places to eat (Beshies!) and everything is within a 5 minute walk of this homestay. The owner was there to welcome us when we arrived and the room was WAY bigger than we thought it was going to be. The bed was HUGE and comfortable and had an extra bed that we didn't use. The aircon worked well and we also loved having the fan too. The room had a fridge freezer and water dispenser and a kettle to make your own coffees. The owner let us use the washing machine and there's also a 'communal' kitchen to use (we didn't use it). We were very happy with this stay and would definitely come again.

Couple of small things- the WiFi was abit iffy and went out at times. The bathroom had gaps to the outside so we had a fair few bugs in the bathroom. And the room was lacking an indoor sink. Apart from these small things we highly recommend this homestay and we thank the owner for a lovely stay 😃

Everything was perfect. The room were nice, and I had hot shower and aircond for a really good price. The terrace and garden are lovely ! I felt at home and it was really cozy. All of this for a very good price

Such a hidden gem and amazing place! The host and her brother are so nice and helpful with everything! Clean and nice place. The only downside was that the kitchen was a bit dirty/dusty since it is partly outside, but it had a lot of good equipment !

I rarely leave reviews, but the incredible value of this homestay forced me to write one. First of all, I would have paid double for the value of these comfortable, air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms. After a four nights, I feel recharged and ready to continue my travels. There’s also a full service kitchen with tons utensils to use at your leisure. And the location is situated within a stones throw of all the tourist sights in Northern Siargao: Taktak falls, the caves, Algeria beach, the surf spots including Pacifico, Santa Monica Pier for sunset, etc. Finally, the host is absolutely lovely and repeatedly goes out of her way to provide excellent local recommendations and anything you may want or need to make your stay comfortable. I give this homestay a 10/10!

Great value! You get the whole downstairs apartment, with two bathrooms (though one of them was not working), a kitchen, bedroom, and living room. It's right on the main road and easy to walk to restaurants in Burgos or check the surf. The host Jhing is very responsive and friendly. She can hook you up with a scooter rental if needed. The starlink wifi works great in every room. There is a washing machine on-site that you have to manually fill with water using a bucket.

The shower head is busted - it's spraying water sideways and all over the walls instead of shooting water downwards. There was a brownout one night and there was no backup power.

The was owners very kind. They helped in everything we needed. The hostel was clean. The best hostel in Siargao. Would recommend.

Everything was great! Jean and Jonathan were friendly, giving some pieces of advice! Room was clean and comfy, aircon a little bit noisy but it is aircon lol Nice location, 8 minutes to alegria beach and another 8 in the other direction to pacifico!

Josephine could not be more helpful and welcoming. The place was spotless and had a full shared kitchen for use. Great location in the town and on the island, super comfortable rooms with AC, fans, private bathroom and everything you could need.

Very nice staff, lots of recommendations. It’s worth going up in the north of Siargao! It was also nice to have a clean equipped kitchen area.

We had such a lovely stay at Zia Homestay! Our initial room had a small issue, so the host offered to upgrade us to another room, which turned out to be a full size apartment! Absolutely amazing customer service. Besides that the lady was so friendly. I wouldn't call the accomodation luxury, but it has everything you need as a backpacker. Comfy bed, it's reasonably clean, hot shower, AC, well equipped kitchen area etc. Would definitely recommend staying here!

The facilities are everything you need and the kitchen is very practical handy. We stayed for a few weeks and got moved into the apartment as Ate Jhing wanted us to be more comfortable. The fellow guests were all really friendly and the atmosphere was really good. Ate Jhing is the best part of the whole experience, she is so charming, friendly and inspiring. She puts her heart into the homestay and you can really feel it

Good location in North Siargao, and great value for money

Very noisy in the night with roosters, dogs, traffic and neighbours.

Excellent budget stay. Jean is extremely friendly and helpful and available, she gave us lots of tips for things to do around and checked in on us. We booked our airport tuktuk through the stay, as well. The property is extremely clean, well maintained and kept. Has a beautiful garden and well equipped, communal kitchen. There’s also more lounge areas upstairs. We had a great stay, Burgos is wonderful and away from the business of General Luna and more authentic than Pacifico beach area. Some good food options, surf, bike rentals and beaches around. Getting to know some of the local kids was a highlight! Highly recommend.

Super friendly and helpful staff! We stayed here during the town fiesta and were welcomed to join for a meal in the owner’s home.

The host and her family was very friendly and the homestay had a lovely homey feeling. There was always cold water available and there were even snacks you could help yourself to! Burgos is also a beautiful town in the North that is quiet enough for a relaxing getaway but also has a few cute places to eat and relax too.

Our best stay so far in the Philippines. The host is simply wonderful and so helpful. Very clean rooms, the sheets and towels smelt beautiful. Great facilities and location, about a 2min walk to the beach. You’ll be missing out if you don’t stay here!

The homestay is beautiful with the green lush garden, fridge,snacks,fresh water and drinks provided but most importantly Josephine and her brother are the nicest, most hospitable people I have meat throughout my travels. Great for solo travelers too since they have more rooms so you can connect easily with other travelers. Ps the bedsheets and towels smelled amazing!

I had the small room in the corner, so heated up pretty quick and the AC is a bit loud like in most of the places.

Our rooms were clean and it was really homely. The caretaker was super friendly and very hospitable which has made our stay great.

Josephine is the nicest person and does everything to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Her Homestay is a cute little Homestay in the town of Burgos; super central but still quiet and you really can relax and enjoy your time here. You live in the local neighbourhood and it’s a super authentic way to discover the area. I booked for one night and kept on extending until 5 nights. I would always come back here!!!

Very friendly staff and great vibe. WiFi was able to play Netflix. Garden looks nice.

The air con is working fine but a little bit noisy. I recommend earplugs 🤙

Very homey and relaxing a perfect trip away from General Luna wish I could have stayed longer.

The shower could have had more water pressure if I am being nitpickey.
