A lovely little sanctuary nestled in the countryside just 3 mins walk to the beach. The shepherd's hut was so cosy and had all the facilities you would need including outdoor seating area. John the host was very welcoming and helpful. I really appreciated being able to check in early as there were no guests staying the previous night.

We had a lovely stay! The host was really friendly and helpful, and the location was great. There’s a beautiful beach nearby and Carlingford is a lovely area to explore. Would definitely recommend!

This was my and my golden retriever 2nd stay in this gem of a place! If you wanna escape into a cute, comfortable ,peaceful place then this is it! Only 5 min walk to a long, beautiful beach( that is always empty) and under 10 min drive to Carlingford. We love this place, certainly will stay more often and longer. Should've stayed longer!!

It was close to the beach (walking distance), clean, cozy, quiet. Great for our 2-year-old too as we were able to close the gate and the yard was closed off then for him to play. John was very welcoming and friendly. We stayed for two nights and were so relaxed it felt like a week.

Great location, only a few minutes walk to the beach. John was very nice, when the barbecue ran out of gas as we were cooking, he gave us a small camping barbecue and then he went promptly to get more gas and also sticks and firelighters for the fire pit

Although there was an electric shower, there was no hot water in the kitchen sink and bathroom sink to wash your hands.The outdoor area had everything we needed, outdoor furniture, barbecue, fire pit which was brilliant but maybe something to brighten up the place, as in fresh flowers would be nice. There were a lot of hanging baskets but with all dead flowers in them. I know the weather has been really hot for a few weeks and there is a hose ban so I understand how things can slip. It was great having the beach so close but be aware that there are a lot of rocks if you’re thinking of swimming in the sea

The property is in an amazing location - very picturesque. The cabin it self has everything you could possibly need and more. The bed was extremely comfortable and the host was a pleasure to chat to and gave us all the relevant information and some great food and guiness recommendations. Overall 100% would stay again

Loved the quiet and yet as was behind a residence so it felt safe. Very well fitted out with own shower and toilet, and kitchen with fridge, microwave, air fryer, kettle and toaster. Had my own locked entrance and separate garden area. Was only 4 mins walk to a lovely quiet beach. Owner helpful.

No signage so hard to find. Not anywhere near a shop so need to have all basics with you.

The property was a beautiful shepherds hut that was fully enclosed, and that was important as we had our two dogs with us. The beach was a 5min walk so perfect for an evening stroll to cool off before dinner. The host John was very friendly and nothing was a bother. It had everything you needed for a few nights away. And only 15 min drive into Carlingford, a beautiful wee place with lots of cafes bars and restaurants. Highly recommend.

The location and area are absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a quiet and adventurous escapade, especially if you like bike riding or long walks. The host, John, was super helpful and also very knowledgeable about the area’s history. The property is perfect for a romantic stay. Everything was clean and ready to use. If you stay in the summer, bring a sleep mask if you want to sleep in, but if you’re an early bird this place is perfect for you. The whole experience felt like a health retreat.

The shepards hut is lovely and has everything you possibly need for a few days away. We used the firepit and the bbq. John was really welcoming and explained everything when we got there. The beach is only a 5 minute walk. We had a really lovely weekend.

John the host was amazingly hospitable. Outdoor space was great and inside a much bigger garden. Fabulous location. John is still developing his projects on the property with an eye to greater improvements. Well done John.

Was all good for me... no complaints

The glamping hut was clean and really well maintained and unique! It was extremely cosy and in an exceptional location, only a 2 minute walk to the beach which was beautiful. John met us upon arriving and was very friendly and showed us around, making us feel very welcome, including our dog Goose! He recommended a pizza place at the local brewery 5 minutes up the road which was exceptional! John got the fire lit for us outside in the evening which was fantastic to sit by with a glass of wine after a busy day. We would love to come back!

Power was out for 2 hours and phone calls and texts were not responded too.

John is a great host, the hut had everything i needed and was so quiet and peaceful. The only noises were bird song, waves and the stream. I brought my two dogs, who loved the garden and the beach which was 2 minutes away and we had some lovely walks there. The hut had great wifi and had Netflix and Amazon Prime. Will definitely be back again.

The location was superb, very peaceful and 5 minute walk to the beach. John the owner was very knowledgeable about the local area with a few very interesting historical facts. He was also very obliging and gave us a couple of lifts into town would highly recommend.

It’s a beautiful location and John the host was super accommodating and helpful!

Jhon was a lovely host, met us on the property gave a little tour, gave recommendations for food/walks/places to go near by, Was very kind in setting the fire for us and providing the starters and anything we may need extra. The hut itself was honesty such a delight to stay in, you had your own tv, microwave,cooking utensils (for the grill outside) kettle, hot water for a shower and a heater for in the evenings. So much for a cabin hut couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

It was clean, comfortable, in a great location with the beach only a 2 minute walk away, and the host went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. We and our dog felt perfectly welcomed and enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend!

I can’t begin where to start with how impressive the shepherds hut was. I had seen the pics but expected it to be small and was blown away by how spacious it was. Very well equipped and great attention to detail. Really comfortable bed and was super warm and cozy on the coldest nights of the year.

The location was amazing but you do need a car. It’s so close to the beach you can hear the waves. It was so peaceful and all you can hear is the sheep and birds.

Cleanliness of the stay, Fresh towels, Warm shower, Accessibility to near restaurants, Close to beach and most importantly welcoming owner(s). 😁

The entire little garden is walled off so it was lovely being able to let the dogs off the lead. The cabin was super cozy and fresh, perfect for what we needed.

The whole set up is well though out and catered for every need. The hut is placed so that there is a feeling there is no one around you, very peaceful. Watching the sun rising in the morning while my son slept and dogs sniffed around made me very content. Shelling hill beach only a few minutes away, was amazing. My son adored everything. The bed was his favourite rating it 10 out of 10. It was a wonderful couple of days and will definitely be back 🙂

Cute little spot, had everything we needed. The host John was very helpful and welcoming. Very close walk to the beach and 10 mins drive to all surrounding attractions.

Wonderful, private, quiet hut 2 min from the beach. I stayed with my golden retriever ( yes it's pet friendly) and we defo will be back. All very clean and comfortable. Beautiful area. Certainly a place a will happily visit many times in the future.

Great location close to the beach and a lovely hut. The owners have done a great job at creating this space. Lovely stories to tell too. Has air fryer, bbq, micro and kettle along with fridge and drawer freezer. Had enough to get by.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, beautiful place with beautiful surroundings. The surroundings were just gorgeous and owner extremely friendly we couldn't have wanted anything more.will definitely be back.

I was met by the host on arrival who showed be around and where to find everything. There were options for breakfast provided. plus tea, coffee, milk etc. I wasn't too sure what to expect but it was a lovely property, beautifully decorated, comfortable and in a lovely location. My only disappointment was that I couldn't stay longer.

We were all very impressed with property - very clean - great hosts - beautiful area! We even enjoyed a sea swim the next day (right beside the beach)!! We will definitely be back!

Cosy cabin with all the amenities you'd need. Very clean, comfortable bed, and really friendly host. We had great chats with John and our dog loved the garden. Literally a 3 minute walk from the beach, or a 3 minute drive to the beach carpark..to where it was more sandy and swim friendly. 10 mins by car to carlingford, and even less to Greenore which is a cute village with a great cafe (Coast&Co) A very peaceful stay, we particularly enjoyed our evenings by the fire with a glass of wine.

Very small issue with the fuse, causing sockets and tv/fridge...but resolved quickly ans without any issue by John
